(four years after the original comment above)....and this film was mentioned in a new documentary Echoes In The Canyon about the southern California rock scene in the 60's. Stephen Stills of CSNY, &Buffalo Springfield, said the film was almost like a visual documentary of LA at that time.
Another update..... In the latest Tarantino film Once Upon A Time In Hollywood , a vintage MG ,same as the one seen in Model Shop, is in the film . But more so, as in Model Shop where the french director of that film loves shooting Los Angeles , you can see how Tarantino does the same scenes, parking lots and all as in 60's film.
Now if only "Once" had been HALF as good as this... :/

And don't forget Almodovar, he digged the scene and Jacques Demy.
They should have paid more attention to the rear side glass in her convertible.
