Hey, great vid, a couple of questions please. How do you do the actual cutting (delete button or backspace?) and where are the deleted parts go, are they saved somewhere and can be used elsewhere? Thanks!

Hi . All video editors ( as far as I know ) are non destructive. Meaning when you cut or delete footage on your timeline . It's does NOT delete anything from your "original" video footage . It only lets the software know that your removing unwanted parts of the video from your timeline ( which is what you export out at the end to make your finished video/movie.
Hope that makes it a little clearer .

@@billbuckleytutorials thanks for the reply. Yeah, I figure that it's not actually being deleted, my question is if you know if we have a quick access to the deleted clips. And also, do you press delete or backspace to delete the scene? Or it's the same thing.

@@ronrozen2105 If you delete a clip and let's say you want to recover it . you can simply
      1. Place you mouse curser on the edge of the clip and drag it to the right and the " deleted" footage will appear.
      2. Yes, Delete or backspace will delete a clip or section of a clip
You can see all the keyboard shortcuts in capcut by going to the top right of the screen and clicking on the word "shortcut"
This will show you ALL of the shortcuts for the software and will also allow you to customize them if you wanted to.
      Cheers Bill

Bill Buckley. How do you define the amount of time in each jump cut starting at 5:19 it is not clear how you set up the amount of time for each jump cut. Thanks! john

John : what I was showing is use the jump cut to cut out any dead space or where I said Ummm or coughed etc.
This was when I was looking for longs gaps in the audio wave.
@ 5:19 I was showing that just to make it more interesting in between jump cuts if you zoom in a few % . The jump cuts are not so obvious.
so for example Use a zoom from say 100% to 105% . Then maybe leave that zoom until I finished a sentence . Then on the next video part go back to 100% .
As far as how long. That is all up to personal taste .
Be careful not to keep jumping in and out every 10 seconds ... this would be too much. But a few zoom in/outs just distract the view from the obvious jumps.
Watch UA-cam where someone is talking directly to the camera and you'll soon see when they do it during a video..
Hope that helps ... Best Bill
