- Free Yamha EF4500ise makes no power. In this video I will show you how to diagnose and fix this genset

Inverter board: www.yamahapart...
Excellent video, brother! Thank you!
I have a generac version that has a failed inverter. I'm going to integrate it into my solar system to charge my battery bank. It has a 12 vol plug and still can get dirty AC signwave for non Soleil state and or sensitive electronics. In the case of using it for AC I should run it at 3500 rpm to get proper Hz which I believe is 65z?also I'm thinking I'll do away whit the plastic case and build an open fmetal Fram that I can accessorize and have easy access to whatever I want to tweak.
Hey bro, I got a yamaha ef4500ise, any time I connect the battery it blows the fuse, any suggestions. Thanks
Great video! Thanks for sharing!
Fantastic video ...thanks!
I have an older Predator 2500 inverter that runs beautifully but doesn't power the 110v outlet. I replaced the outlet with a household outlet and it worked on a small appliance. i started it later and it didn't work again. Any suggestions?
Yes the inverter board is bad. it was never the outlet.
@@immortalengines1605 but when I changed the outlet the new one worked. Then stopped working. Still the inverter? Where can I get one?
was the other outlet significantly worn out?@@prepperboss
@@immortalengines1605 has only one outlet, it’s a predator 61169
Hey! I picked up a Yamaha EF3000iseb for $20 off CL. I worked on motorcycles for years figured I could figure it out. Motor is generating power but it's not coming back out of the board just like yours. Boards are $1100-1400 online. Hardly seems worth it. Am I missing something? Can't seem to find any used on ebay. The board is sealed in an epoxy So I can't really diagnose individual components. Any ideas?
Hey Austin, thanks for checking out my video and subscribing to the channel! Although you did the right thing by paying only $20 for that generator, everything else sounds familiar. the boards in these generators go out on all brands and sizes and they are impossible to fix because of the epoxy. your best bet is to not look for a inverter board only. but a whole unit with a bad engine on ebay. I paid $1100 for the board I used in this video and it only made sense because I sold the generator afterwards.
@@immortalengines1605 Yeah, I intend to sell it. I was just looking for a fun project to do with my 8yo son. I know they are like $2500 new but I don't know what they are worth used. I doubt much more than $1000 so I'm thinking it doesn't make sense to fix.
Found a board for $750 that's starting to POSSIBLY make sense.
@@austinconant8476 does your generator have 2 boards or just 1?
And YEAH THE EPOXY IS A MF-ER! I stupidly thought I could replace a component. I just went to the garage thinking "what the hell? I'll tear into the epoxy where I think the issue is." well I was right about the issue but getting the epoxy out was damn near impossible.
How much cost the board?
about $1000 USD
Lucky you
Minus 10 degrees is not that cold. The Eskimo people wear flip-flop sandals and put on the suntan lotion. To them minus 10 degrees is like summer.
Where is the next video for the chome fix? Cuz mine charges until the choke starts acting up then kills the power
Hi Jason, I added the video of the choke fix at that at the end screen of this video. Please scroll all the way to the end and you should be able to click on it!
Why was the power meter not coming on tho?
because the board was dead
Why don't you wire in a stand alone inverter to the generator outputs?
uh?
@@immortalengines1605 rather than replacing with same part use another inverter . Connect a diode trio "rectifier" like a car alternators to output side of the generator then connect another inverter the you would connect to a battery. Find an RPM that works best and it's not " perfect" but he'll it should work no?
@@bartholomewceremony6981 its easier to just replace the inverter board. people who buy these generators buy them for their fuel economy and quiet operation. what you said could work but it voids the point of a enclosed inverter gen
@@immortalengines1605planned obselesence? What is the point of the epoxy that virtually makes the inverter unserviceable?
Resistance to vibration and moisture.
I would never buy another Yamaha generator. Mine is a ef3000ise b inverter.
Four times used it, a control board went bad. The board cost over $900.00. My generator cost $1900.00 plus.
You choose.
Yea I heard those were not the most reliable ones.
