Spider-Man's origin: bitten by a radioactive spider and mourns the death of his father figure.
Spider-Woman's origin: it's complicated.
Spider-Woman was downright SCARY when she first appeared! If she were an actual VILLAIN, she'd have been terrifying! "To Know Her, Is To Fear Her" indeed!
I wish Marvel had stuck with the original origin that she was a spider turned into a human. The horror potential in that would have been incredible and might have steered the character in a more unique direction.
They could do that in the MCU
That just sounds incredibly stupid lol. How would a spider turn into a human? It doesn't have even the same body structure, she would have 8 legs instead of 2 arms and 2 legs, she would have only big fangs for teeth, she would be really hairy, etc.

I've always loved Spider-Woman, but Marvel hasn't been doing a very good job of developing her. And their redesign of her iconic costume is criminal. Supe it up but don't give her a coat, leggings and glasses!

Spiders do fly on wind currents with strands of thread. Lasers are just silly.

Hey MerryMarveliten in my opinion Spider-Man should have all of those powers not spider-woman. If machines get invented I’ll go back in time when Stan Lee was working on the first spider man comic and ask him to give Spider-Man these superpowers.
venom blasts: the ability to fire bursts of red energy from his hands.
A clairvoyant spider-sense that allows him to see dangers as they happen; no matter where he is, he can close his eyes and see the event, shown to the viewers as an image outlined by a spider-web. His spider sense can also warn him in front as well. He would still have his other spider sense.
He can also project spider-like weblines from the palms of his hands or an individual finger. They naturally generated so he wouldn't web shooters. He is able to control the direction in which his weblines move.
Spider-telepathy: allowing him to mentally communicate with spiders and ask them for assistance.
Spider bubble: allowing him to function underwater without diving gear.
The ability to camouflage himself, including his clothing, to match his surroundings, making him effectively invisible.
I think it would be great if a new version of (SPIDER-WOMAN) cartoon show series could get made now.
I love Ghost-Spider and Silk, but I admit to loving Jessica Drew more.

Well this is nice. However, I'm just a little disappointed you didn't cover the real life story of why marvel created Spider woman in the first place. CBS had announced that come the fall they would be running a new cartoon featuring a new character called Spider woman. Marvel was in a tizzy as they didn't have the copyright on the name at that time since no spider woman existed in the marvel universe at that time. So Marvel rushed her story to get ti out asap so they could have a copyright on spiderwoman. The spiderwoman cartoon character became known as WebWoman.

I think a different version of her does an other worldly version. Like the one that popped up in 1984 secret wars. It was a completely different Spider-Woman from the one all the heroes were familiar with.
