    Quick question, where should you let your mead ferment? Is the kitchen counter good? On the kitchen floor?

    Quick question: what powder is it that you use as yeast nutrient?

    Isn't using the fruit skin bad as it contains pectins which then turn into methanol? I heard about it and I'm not sure, I wanted to try out making fruit mead but the methanol thing has me worried.

    Since it's 'that time of year', where we can buy bottles of 'Federweißer' (still fermenting 'grape cider', that is sold in bottles that allow for pressure release) everywhere here in Germany...I wonder if I could just use that as a liquid and forgo adding fermentation yeast. The Federweißer already had active yeast in it, after all and it should be the right kind for this type of beverage.

    Seeing this soda slowly transform into something else is so fun to watch unfold. It makes me wonder, what other sodas would work well as a mead?
    .....root beer?

    • @QNEGRO1
      @QNEGRO1 2 місяці тому

      Root beer was originally a "beer" to begin with, prohibition seen the no alcohol content so sugar and in some cases spices was added as a substitute for the alcohol

  • @BingBong-b4q

    Stupid question probably:Is mead actually sweet? Or sweet for people who are used to alcohol?

    • @MisterZ1P
      @MisterZ1P 9 місяців тому +3

      It all depends on the recipe. Little to no residual sugars? It will be "Dry" like a champagne. An abundance of sweetness? "Dessert" wine. Something in the middle? the terms "Medium" or "Semi-sweet" will be used.

      Not all Honey is the same. There are different sources of pollen that bees collect from. Wildflower, Clover, Orange Blossom, Meadowfoam, Mesquite, Tupelo, Buckwheat etc. All look and taste slightly different from each other.
