Madeline Kildee Wes Anderson and Robert Yeoman (His cinematographer) are my fucking heroes. The images they create are breath taking. Wes Anderson's style is just so inspiring
Just saw this movie with my fiance, Wes Anderson is a genius. Charming movie, very artistic and humorous. Loved Royal Tenenbaums, and this movie is right up there.
This is among the absolute best filmscores ever! :o The soundtrack alone, really made this film worth every second watching......it gave every scene something magical
One of the most beautiful orchestral pieces I have heard in my life. Every part of this movie was flawless--to me. Especially this piece for some reason; we were about to leave when Sam (the young boy) started speaking in Part 7, and I just walked back up with her and sat down in our seats in the top row. I can close my eyes when I listen to this, and shivers ripple across my flesh. I could listen to it as an introductory song every time I write.
This is my favorite movie. It is in every way perfect. If the movie was just this song with no visuals it would still be my favorite. Hell I hate classical music, but this song is just so... Godlike...
This is one of my favorite movies, I love everything about it from the the comedic scenes to the message about love, the music is also amazing. Did I also mention that I'm a sixteen year old male? This film really moved me.
Wonderful music palette. It has a magical quality to the mixture of instrumental sounds...The themes sound like a mix of Carmina Burana and Simon and Garfunkel and also the insistent repetitive part sounds like a piece I forgot the name of it...a French one called "The Bells of Saint...." I just love it...Thank you for posting.
Parts 4-6 are my favorite, it´s got such a halloween feeling to it, my favorite time of the year. Also loved how he combined rocknroll instruments with classical orchestral instruments
I listened to this song by mistake after ingesting some magic and my third eye opened. It was amazing and my mood was lifted for several days/weeks after
This is truly the best movie in a very long time! This is the best sound track of all time a magical master piece. I can close my eyes and feel the adventure come to life, down to my very core! :-)
I don't know how this put me to sleep. Buf everytime I listen to this, my eyes close involuntarily. And then I think of Suzy and Sam. And I felt part of it. And everytime the music changes, the scenes in my mind change too. And then, I would realize... it was all a dream. 3 Moonrise Kingdom :3
I loved the film, almost as good as The Tenenbaums. I bought the soundtrack, I've heard it half a dozen times and I'm mesmerized by Desplat's themes. I also love the subtle ironic game between the Britten/Purcell masterclass at the beginning and the Desplat/Oldfield at the end. I'm playing this theme again...

just seen, im in love with the movie, and excellent soundtrack
I went into this film thinking I would not like it (my girlfriend wanted to go), but I ended up thinking it is one of the best movies I have seen all year.
This reminds me so much of the music of Hatzidakis, which would make sense considering Alexandre Desplats greek roots. If you like it, check him out ;)
This is the Island Of New Penzance, 16 miles long, forested with old growth pine & maple, criss crossed by shallow tidal creeks, Chickchaw Territory, there are no paved roads but ^ here comes Jed with the mail, but instead many miles of intersecting footpaths and dirt trails & a ferry that runs twice daily from Stone Cove, The Year is 1965, we are on the far edge of Black Beacon Sound famous for the ferocious & well documented storm that will strike from the east on the 5of Sep, in 3 days time
This movie is just so beautiful to look at. You could literally pause it at any moment and it looks like a perfect picture
+Madeline Kildee well, that´s wes andersons trademark! :)

the Academy Award that desplat just winned was earn due to his works like this one. congratulations desplat.
Play this as you drive through the countryside. I did as I drove through the forest and farmland to the Lake of the Ozarks...it was magical.
Just saw this movie with my fiance, Wes Anderson is a genius. Charming movie, very artistic and humorous. Loved Royal Tenenbaums, and this movie is right up there.
The entire "The Heroic Weather" suite is some of the best work Alexandre Desplat has ever done.
I was stunned by this movie - everything about it is mesmerising!

Thank you so much for posting this... the song was in my head all day!
loved the movie, loved the soundtrack. the opening notes do remind me of the beginning of Mr. E's Beautiful Blues
this movie is simply amazing and kara hayward is so beatiful, she'll be great star.
Wonderful ost...Great work bi Anderson, Coppola e the composer Desplat
If you wait until minute 13, you'll find what you're looking for.
It's part 7 of the movement.
I completely agree with you, john!
That was amazing 👏 ❤
After the first few seconds I expect: "Hello Darkness My Old Friend", but then I realise there's so much more...
This is one of my girlfriend and I's favorite movies. The theme really brings back some good memories.
masterpiece
fabuleux
You have to watch this one.
Génial !
amazing.
I went into this film thinking I would not like it (my girlfriend wanted to go), but I ended up thinking it is one of the best movies I have seen all year.

Indeed. Have you listened to The Grand Budapest Hotel soundtrack? He uses the strings just like a greek Bouzouki.
I am going to buy this OST. It's worth it
I'll put this tune into my iPod, grab my bicycle and go out to the woods for a little trip.
I really liked that one too.
It was actually Suzy's younger brother Lionel that narrated Part 7, but yeah it was a nice tribute to Benjamin Britten.
This is guy who's going to be composing the new Godzilla movie. I think this movie's in good hands.
HELLO DARKNESS MY OLD FRIEND !
I thought the same hahaha
thank you, sherlock.
so pretty
I like that the original film score is an homage to Britten's Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra (and Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells)!
This is the Island Of New Penzance, 16 miles long, forested with old growth pine & maple, criss crossed by shallow tidal creeks, Chickchaw Territory, there are no paved roads but ^ here comes Jed with the mail, but instead many miles of intersecting footpaths and dirt trails & a ferry that runs twice daily from Stone Cove, The Year is 1965, we are on the far edge of Black Beacon Sound famous for the ferocious & well documented storm that will strike from the east on the 5of Sep, in 3 days time
SOOOOOO GOOOOOODDDD
the music really did it for me in moonrise kingdom. in some films the musc is just blah, but in this one the music really adds to the film
Hope they play the last part on the academy awards next year.
that was my first thought too!
I love part 2
Does anyone see the homage to Mike Oldfield's "Tubular Bells" starting around 12:59?
Cheyenne Naeb Sure do!
desplat genious
