I think she's a good one. She is mother of Jing'er, but she is fair and doesn't favor anyone.
She's a good character. She's Jin'er's legal mother (father's main wife). Unlike in a lot of dramas where the main wife is jealous and controlling of the concubines and their kids, she treats her husband's concubines fairly and treats the kids like her own. Even though she's not Jin'er's birth mother, she cares for Jin'er a lot and will stick up for her anytime, I think partly because she knows that Jin'er doesn't really have anyone else of status that she can count on-at least not until she got married. She's the conflict mediator of the family while her husband is the conflict avoider. Honestly, she is the ancient Chinese people's ideal of what a main wife should be-manage the household and family without jealousy.
She is Princess Rui the first wife and biological mother of Shen Shu the first daughter (the eldest sister among the four), she is a fair woman and treats all of her husband's daughters equally. Jing'er and Zi'er mother is the woman in yellow named Xu , she is jealous , mean and manipulative.
