Thanks Jackie and Tom for sharing this. So much to love…that snazzy video feedback open, the driving stand-up, the human tripod shots. Sheesh, 40 years ago.
Took the bridge everywhere. Back then I just got out to Seattle in 1986 from Illinois. It was a good time for me. My new town, just married. My house in west Seattle.
So glad the hairstyles and cheesy television graphics didn’t last. Too bad the bridge didn’t last as long as as hoped. Fortunately the bridge was closed before anything catastrophic happened.
Part of it is the fault of the city for not properly maintaining it plus they put that only bus lane up there which put a lot of heavy stress on one section of the bridge and shifted more traffic into other lanes so wait wasn't as evenly distributed. These cracks started in 2013 they simply let them go until the bridge was unusable

Well, at least 40 years ago, we still had to drive around the West Seattle bridge just like we do today. Boy, things do not change.

Wow. Jackie O'Ryan.

Wow. And it didn't last.
