  • Somehow this recording didn't appear on Kansas' 1978 Two For The Show live album. For some unknown reason it wasn't even included on the 2008 expanded edition. Recorded on July 8th 1978 at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD.

Reason it wasn't included - LH is the MOST underrated song Kansas has recorded - ever... :)

Also, because they have been playing the main theme of it Instrumentally for decades - The main riff of the song comes from Belexes, from the first album

That is absolutely true. This is a fantastic song and it should be played live all of the time. I'm so glad that Kansas decided to do a POKR full concert tour, and look forward to seeing them.

The reason it WASN'T included is because it's the most UNDERrated Kansas song? How does that make any sense?
It's a great instrumental, and Robbie has a fairly decent voice. However, on this particular live version, Robbie's voice goes out of tune for part of the song. This is my guess why they didn't include it. I'm sure Robbie wouldn't have wanted this live version on Two for the Show either for this reason.
But it's an awesome musical jam. And in the studio version, Robbie sings it fine.

It's songs like this that inspired me as a young songwriter. Rich and Kerry are unfortunately, two of the most underrated guitarists of all time.

wow what a great song! how I wish the original lineup could get together for one last final tour would be so awesome!!! one of the most underrated supergroups ever!!!

Unfortunately, three of them aren't really up to it anymore, and a fourth hasn't been interested in decades. The current lineup is doing a great job, though.

@@robyartic they're not underrated by fans but they are underated buy a lot of upper scale magazines and entities like the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame they're still not in there and they have rappers in there that's dumb!

Sad it wasn't on Two for the show. A fantastic track that has phenomenal solos (studio version). I actually wish Kansas had leaned a little more towards the heavier side of prog rock. I mean Lightning's hand is very nearly metal right?

Excellent work as always bro! Sounds like Glixman had the mix dialed in much better this being the 2nd night! Robby's vocals sound better as well. Notice that Walsh's vocal parts sound identical to the previous night? This band was so consistent! Thanks for the brilliant work my friend!

Too bad my wife was only 15 years old when Kansas played the Merriweather. Her father was the lead architect for city of Colombia where she grew up! She lived minutes away from this venue...little did she know she would become a Kansas fan after marrying me!!!

The tune that electrified Robby more than was wanted. "Hey, let's take this giant Van de Graaff generator on tour with us and make lightning strikes on stage! It'll be great! " said no one, ever... Great song though, and great live performance of it!

The reason must be solo guitarist's decision. its a shame he couldn't reproduce the album's exact guitar solo, so he decided not to include this song. Great band, great performance though.

I actually think it's one of their lesser good songs and can understand why didn't perform the song live very often.

I saw them at Merriweather but it was the Audio Visions tour.Still got the T Shirt. They played this with lightning hitting the stage and thunder rolling through the massive sound system.

Hello, kerrylives!! Please forgive my bolt of excited "surge," but in total curious fun, ...does there seem to be an undertone in this song of the Angel of Death, also known as the Grim Reaper?? ...AND my point being, the magic and diversity of Livgren and Walsh writing together again COULD impact/soften/open our leader's hearts, possibly engaging the domino effect on multitudes to do the same... cool, yes? ...maybe?? {:-/ (Love to all!!)
