General, good to see you here! Your tactics helped me greatly during my time as a mercenary for Sultan Unqid against the Vlandians. I managed to defeat a force of Vlandian knights, numbering around 230, with just 80 infantrymen, many of whom were only tier 3 and 4. I was commanding them within an army, though I was just a commander and not the army leader.

Much love from iceland 😋
There is another easy and common quest: villager needs tools. i always have a couple for that quest and buy a few (5 to 10) when i see them dirt cheap in a town. Actually, how much you get paid per influence as a mercenary depends on how rich the guy is you ask. usually the best one is the faction leaders and the clan leaders. i've been contracted for 250 to 300 in the past. In regards to marriage: go to the clan leader or parent. sometimes you can outright ask to marry someone eligable in their clan and you get into the trading menu. Crazy but i bought some wifes for some swords and horses. that way i skip the skill checks. M&B is about the thrill of the fights. so all that auto resolving is a bit sad. but yeah, for the purpose of a guide, its fine. and even with my many hours in the game learned something from watching ("only" the auto resolve ratio for siege defense).

Yeah it's definitely a risk. I mentioned to hold off on buying until you know who you'll serve as a vassal for, because when you make the switch it will still be your workshop. I really hope they patch Workshops to be useful again someday lol they feel underwhelming still
It's really amazing, honestly, that you are still giving so much attention to a game that gave up on itself for some time now. Great guide, this one is pure gold for anybody that gives the game an opportunity for the first time.
When you defended the siege at about 1:30:00, it would be better to take all the prisoners and immediately donate them to the dungeon. Didn't play for a while, so no idea if that's still the case, but you used to get influence for donating prisoners, and since you're in the castle and paused after the battle, there is no tick that will allow any prisoners to escape. Edit: Yeah, just a few minutes later you donate prisoners for influence. So it still works.
Good catch! The only downside I would say to keep in mind there - if it's the AI's fief you're defending, you have to make sure you can be there to defend it or else those prisoners will become enemy troops instantly if the fief falls.
@@Strat-Guides Oh, yeah, that would be a problem, and there you are already at the vassal stage, so that is a concern. If you're a mercenary, though, who cares? Get paid, let them figure it out.
Been watching your vids for a while now. If I may add a little bit of extra info for the escort quest you started at 38min, when you have enough troops it pays to stay ahead of the caravan and intercept the raiders before the caravan gets into combat so that they dont lose any members. Also, there is only 1 quest based group of enemies between each town, however if a large enough group of bandits or raiders gets close enough they will attack the caravan, this can be a problem if the route takes you past a hideout. As for the caravan ambush mission, there is a mission, there is a minimum required follow distance or the raiders wont spawn. This is as far as I got in the video before work, so I apologize if you cover this later. Really enjoy how informative your videos are, and the have helped me alot, keep up the good work.

A good way to become the tournament champion for that sweet, sweet 1 renown a day is to get to clan tier 2, save up influence, and form the biggest army you can, while victories account for winning the actual tournament, it is also affected by how many lords participate in the tournament, so lets say your doing a tournament with 2 lords, you will get 3 victories on the tournament leaderboard instead of 1

I never knew the Empire gave you mixed race parents.. Another reason to always pick a Battanian character I guess. I would recommend Battanian for beginners because being able to zoom through forests to chase down enemies or run from difficult fights gives you a massive advantage in the early game especially.
They really need to improve the character perks and stats. At the end of the day, you just create the same dude but different weapons/armor when replaying the game. I honestly want more perks specialization, specially in the money income. Imagine create a character specialized in mines, and have bonuses through politics to specialize your country, for example, into industry, or commerce too.
@@zentonil Yeah, i hate it when theres no purpose at all. I mean, i love planning my character in all fallout saga, because my plannings can affect the playstyle. In this game, i have the feeling of doing the same character over and over again.
I love the idea behind the game. I like the big battles, it is however quite annoying to have a 200+ size army and only have half come to battle, because the opposing army is so huge (love 250 vs 1300+ on easier settings), the personal fighting system has a steep learning curve but can be quite fun. What I do dislike a freaking lot is the AI and diplomacy system. AI allies never help you and only run around like a headless chicken with huge armies or take over & lose any siege you started. You can be sieging the last city or castle of a kingdom and before being able to finish your allies decide not only to make peace, but also pay tribute, which will be for eternity because the bad AI will never allow me to propose a war against them.
Gather round young ones, gather round !! The Maester is about to ramble again, so pay attention! Otherwise you’ll all be serving on the wall. In all seriousness, love the content Strat !! I miss the stream last time. Did Abarash the Wandering Knight survived your Westerosi campaign?
I like your content. Bannerlord is a fantastic game, quite difficult. But with your help much easier. After Warband there were 3 dlcs. Unfortunately after Bannerlord nothing.
I there a mod that allows me to choose the new kingdom leader after my character death and still play as characters son. That way you could replay the same world with new character. After many many generations there are multiple small kingdoms (rather than the standard 8)
There's a mod that allows you to start the game with many smaller kingdoms, if that's your main goal. I'm not sure about selecting the king and playing as their son though
Great video bro! Beginners guide for a game like bannerlord are never enough. Also, do you know how clan parties and kingdom parties work? Runned several test playthrougths and still don't understand how it works. They never build up a party with more than 40 troops even if I gave them a city.
Thanks! It usually has to do with 2 things - Clan tier and how much money they have. If they have a low clan tier then their party limits will be low. If they have no cash, they won't hire many troops. You can give more fiefs or you can directly give them money through barter - talk to anyone in their clan directly and just give denars without asking for anything in return.
Perfect timing, I just started my second run ever a week ago using your tips to try a world conquest run! One question, I’m playing campaign and when I rescued my brother his skill points have already been assigned even though I’m certain I disabled that option at character creation. Is this a known bug? Super disappointing, he was gonna be my super Governor…
So if I recall, him having unassigned points and perks as the bug lol it wasn't supposed to be that way. With that said, I do miss it because it was nice having a super-governor or super-party leader
@@Strat-Guides Ah geez, well I guess it was too good to be true haha! I noticed from my last run they also patched being given the first settlement conquered after joining a faction too. I guess it’ll improve the challenge overall. Thanks so much for continuing to make these videos, I’ve probably watched two hours of old guides last week refreshing my game plan!
Random Number Generator - there are some mechanics in the game that are governed by a random number generator. For example, the starting items of a town are not set and will always be randomized to a certain degree. I dunno the exact number, but starting town should have animals to slaughter about 60 - 70% of the time, but sometimes they start with 0.
This is meant for people who are brand new and need a step by step hand-holding video. It should help cut down drastically on the learning curve - probably somewhere in the 30 - 50 hour range. So while It's a longer video, it SHOULD in theory save people time overall.
@@kingjabon for someone who’s been wanting a game like this on PlayStation for a long time, I’m very pleased with this game that I downloaded for free with my subscription. @@kingjabon Trust me when I say that all you have to do is jump in, really all you should do is do whatever you think will be the coolest thing to you.
Ahhh yes. As a 50 year old first timer with all my stats in wht i thought cool annd not what worked. These tips will help me succeed. Real talk tho as playing on bannerlord diff for a first playthrough has been a Hellhole hahaha. The amount of times ive quit to make easier save. Then return to the Original because ive come too far. Is insane. And now i have a deep seated hatred for the Valandians as a Empirian. This game man hahaha its so addictive. Rest in Piss King Dertherd your bloodline ends by my hand! (He killed my brother in battle. Then years later his son killed my brothers only Daughter too)
I think Bannerlord difficulty is very punishing if you're going to be doing personal combat - but in this one I recommend to avoid it and just lead troops which isn't nearly as bad. Lol agreed about Derthert!
Why put points into medicine when you can have a dedicated medic role? and allow someone else to waste their points. Maybe it will be said, later, curious to know! I've played a lot of this game, and this tutorial looks correct on the rest of the topics.
Good question! The main reason I recommend this for a beginner is because it's much more simple to handle those skills with your main character. It can be challenging to find a good companion to handle steward, then another for medicine and another for engineering. This method you can handle all 3 with your main character AND get to 330 guaranteed because we put 10 attribute points into intelligence. With a companion, you'll probably get to 5 or 6 attributes by the end game and MAYBE 7 if you're lucky and find one at level 11 or less (get another attribute at level 12). Another thing to consider - some of the really good perks are tagged as party leader, which means your companions won't be able to use them in the main party. 275 Medicine is a good example. If you're experienced and know what you're doing, you can definitely get away with having companions handle these roles for you, but I felt like this build was good for a brand new player, so that's my rationale!
They will definitely update it again - I see them doing stuff on the steam database (it shows patch testing) but add more features, probably not. The only way I see that happening is if it's a DLC.
@@Strat-Guides gotcha hopefully they just announce their stopping support so modders don’t have to keep updating. maybe they started focusing on a new title when unreal 5 came out
I think Bannerlord was refining the steps for this portion of the Game. I wish for a Total War: Bannerlord. The Battles? Bannerlord with more command options and bonuses like Total War. Be able to control formations like that but still control your guy.
It's on my list to cover all the Paradox games, but I probably won't get to it for a few months at least. Eventually I will though! I love Paradox games
Do you still think the Charm capstone perk is worth grabbing now that it's only a small fixed amt per day? I'm usually on the fence on whether or not to lvl Charm.
I usually put 7 points into social to at least get leadership 275, so might as well get charm 275. It's not as good as it used to be though so I don't go 10 social
If you're on PC, there's a mod called Butter Achievements that allows achievements even with mods or in sandbox. If you're on console, I don't think so :(
It depends on the herd you're carrying - I think cows pay the most and pigs/sheep pay a lot less. It's still a good quest to do because it's so easy and low risk
@@Strat-Guides Absolutely, I was just weirded out by the way you got cow quests several times in a row iirc, which made me think all of them give 1800.

Imagine create a character specialized in mines, and have bonuses through politics to specialize your country, for example, into industry, or commerce too.
I also hate having to consult a grid table to figure out the Focus + Attribute spread every time haha
@@zentonil Yeah, i hate it when theres no purpose at all. I mean, i love planning my character in all fallout saga, because my plannings can affect the playstyle.
In this game, i have the feeling of doing the same character over and over again.
It's more about how you play. If you don't want the same guy, don't play the same way. Use different weapons. Use different stats.
i legit love your content so much, thank you for your hard work ❤
Thanks!!
Dude you're so good at guides
Thanks!!
Fine, I'll play Bannerlord again for 1,000,000 time
I dont even own, nor have I ever played this game and found the guide engrossing.
@@vincer7824 I'm glad it was interesting enough to watch! It's a really fun game if you have the time to get into it.
@@Strat-Guides Yeah it certainly looks like it. Probably pick it up when it goes on sale as I just started the Witcher 3 for the first time.
Bannerlord is absolutely incredible
Thank you just in time to show my buddy grandpa lol
I have learned i say the names of all the towns wrong lol
You're a legend bro
I love the idea behind the game. I like the big battles, it is however quite annoying to have a 200+ size army and only have half come to battle, because the opposing army is so huge (love 250 vs 1300+ on easier settings), the personal fighting system has a steep learning curve but can be quite fun.
What I do dislike a freaking lot is the AI and diplomacy system.
AI allies never help you and only run around like a headless chicken with huge armies or take over & lose any siege you started.
You can be sieging the last city or castle of a kingdom and before being able to finish your allies decide not only to make peace, but also pay tribute, which will be for eternity because the bad AI will never allow me to propose a war against them.
we need a guide like this for hoi4
That's on my list! Same with EU4
watching the whole thing just in case I missed anything in the last 100 hours
Gather round young ones, gather round !! The Maester is about to ramble again, so pay attention! Otherwise you’ll all be serving on the wall.
In all seriousness, love the content Strat !! I miss the stream last time. Did Abarash the Wandering Knight survived your Westerosi campaign?
Hey Lucho! I don't recall Abarash making into the army just yet, i'll double check today. I'll be streaming it again around 10 or 11am PST
I like your content. Bannerlord is a fantastic game, quite difficult. But with your help much easier. After Warband there were 3 dlcs. Unfortunately after Bannerlord nothing.
I thought my phone was glitching on the time stamp
Loved this. Much of it I know (from watching your other videos primarily) but nice and concise. However, where's the Notion link Strat?
I forgot to add it when I posted it, but it should be there now! Sorry for the mistake!
I love this guide. But ill be honest i play with so many mods that its a different game. Still learned a few things
Lest Gooo! Dues Vult this video!
Brits Queen at its best 😂😂❤
Thanks for the video, I was going to show it to my grandma, but she doesn’t understand english, she is also dead, so there is that
Lol same, RIP all of our grandmas :D
I applaud your work, thank you for the wisdom :)
This might just inspire me to do a playthrough without blacksmithing. 🤑
Lol it's hard to go back to no-smithing once you start. The money is too good
I there a mod that allows me to choose the new kingdom leader after my character death and still play as characters son.
@@Strat-Guides Thanks a bunch. Gonna try it out later.
My grandma keeps asking, what's RNG?
Random Number Generator - there are some mechanics in the game that are governed by a random number generator. For example, the starting items of a town are not set and will always be randomized to a certain degree. I dunno the exact number, but starting town should have animals to slaughter about 60 - 70% of the time, but sometimes they start with 0.
@@Strat-Guides Grandma says thanks.
Mount & Blade: Grandmalord
YOU MADE A VIDEO CALLED BEGINNER'S GUIDE... AND IT'S 2 HOURS AND 40 MINUTES LONG.
What gave you that idea?
This is meant for people who are brand new and need a step by step hand-holding video. It should help cut down drastically on the learning curve - probably somewhere in the 30 - 50 hour range. So while It's a longer video, it SHOULD in theory save people time overall.
This game is a tragedy. The developers truly have something here, but they refuse to work on it. I've never avoided a game I want to play so bad!!
Mods make it worth getting. I can't go back to Vanilla, ever. I've put in hundreds of hours.
@@kingjabon for someone who’s been wanting a game like this on PlayStation for a long time, I’m very pleased with this game that I downloaded for free with my subscription.
I get what you’re saying though, there’s definitely some issues on ps5 when you have more than 300 people. It’d be cool if there were expansion areas.
I wouldn’t avoid it
More's the tragedy that you don't play it yourself, unpolished as it is.
@@kingjabon Trust me when I say that all you have to do is jump in, really all you should do is do whatever you think will be the coolest thing to you.
@@mattgchev what are your go to mods?
So easy Grandma can understand?
Bro idk about that cuz mine has dementia
No collision. Use peasants as pikes and raise your khan baby snipers well. The end
@@Strat-Guides Understood, its a good point that a begginer will find it easier that way. Have a nice day :)
2:02:23 - what is the cause/source of She-Wolf's roguery XP gain here (in the log)?
Looks like she deposited prisoners there, which generates Roguery XP. It's at a castle, but I guess the game converts them to money for the AI?
do you think they are gonna update bannerlord again or add features?
They will definitely update it again - I see them doing stuff on the steam database (it shows patch testing) but add more features, probably not. The only way I see that happening is if it's a DLC.
@@Strat-Guides gotcha hopefully they just announce their stopping support so modders don’t have to keep updating. maybe they started focusing on a new title when unreal 5 came out
I think Bannerlord was refining the steps for this portion of the Game. I wish for a Total War: Bannerlord. The Battles? Bannerlord with more command options and bonuses like Total War. Be able to control formations like that but still control your guy.
Bro I have request can you make granny guide on Victoria 3
It's on my list to cover all the Paradox games, but I probably won't get to it for a few months at least. Eventually I will though! I love Paradox games
I love/hate this game…guess I’m starting another run 😔
Lol I understand the feeling!
Svana Gang
Over a year without a game update???!
No, but plenty of tiny hotfixes that break all your mods hahaha Gotta love TW
Missing only starting own kingdom😏
That's definitely not a beginner friendly topic! Maybe grandma can start her own kingdom in another video :P
@@Strat-Guides 😂 that is true sir
Do you still think the Charm capstone perk is worth grabbing now that it's only a small fixed amt per day? I'm usually on the fence on whether or not to lvl Charm.
I usually put 7 points into social to at least get leadership 275, so might as well get charm 275. It's not as good as it used to be though so I don't go 10 social
@@Strat-Guides understood. Thanks for the quick response. Have a good weekend
I'd like to play with enabled achievements, any ideas how to do that in sandbox?
Anyways, love your guides!
If you're on PC, there's a mod called Butter Achievements that allows achievements even with mods or in sandbox. If you're on console, I don't think so :(
@@Strat-Guides thankfully I‘m on pc - trying that out, thanks for your reply
Were herd delivery quests nerfed recently? I get 900 instead of 1800 like in the video.
It depends on the herd you're carrying - I think cows pay the most and pigs/sheep pay a lot less. It's still a good quest to do because it's so easy and low risk
@@Strat-Guides Absolutely, I was just weirded out by the way you got cow quests several times in a row iirc, which made me think all of them give 1800.
rot world conquest?
Streaming tomorrow actually!
