GREAT video Aisling, I LOVE this topic and thank you for the recs! (Also I cant remember if I already said this but HUGE congratulations on reaching 1k!!!!! You deserve it so much!!)
Glad to see The Goldfinch here, Aisling ❤ This book means a lot to me - it was a comfort at a difficult time but also of course because of Donna Tartt’s writing and I really liked that the book was so long and I could lose myself in it. I think I’ll return to it soon - it’s good on audio too. I have avoided the film tho 😒☺️
"The most secret memory of men" by Mohamed Mbougar Sarr is also a novel about the love of books and reading and being a writer, it's a mystery and also a story with stories within stories. It went straight to my all time favorites list and I'm so looking forward to rereading it. Thanks for the lovely video, I always feel soothed by your presence ❤
That sounds absolutely right up my street. I’ve never heard of it before now so thanks so much for the recommendation ☺️ And thanks for your lovely comment, too 💜
The last book that I read in one sitting was Crow Lake by Mary Lawson. At this moment I am reading Circe (recommended by you) and I find it very difficult to put down. I remember reading A Little Life, I felt like I was living two lives at once: the one with Jude and my other, not-so-important one😁
I listened to Crow Lake and really loved it, too. I hope Circe continued to keep you interested ☺️ A Little Life is such an immersive read. I doubt I’ll ever forget the experience 💛
Congratlations on the 1K, Aisling! I'd throw 'As Long As The Lemon Trees Grow' in as my rec, but do check your trigger warnings, because it's a heavier read.
Am I the only one who says ‘aaawww Jude” whenever I see the cover of A Little Life? I even did it out loud in Waterstones 😮😂 Just finished In Defence of the Act today and cried like a baby. Well recommended
Haha that’s brilliant! Jude is definitely a character that sticks with you, isn’t he? 🥹 Any book that makes somebody cry like that is an excellent recommendation for me. I’m adding it to my list ☺️
I just finished this phenomenal new book of fairy tales entitled Sillies, Fancies, and Trifles - it was phenomenal and I think you'd love it. It would go with the lovely recommendations here. Keep up the beautiful videos :)
love the recs! for anyone else here in the comments, i believe divine rivals is part of the current st martin's press boycott (marketing only, as far as im aware)!
I’m not sure how I even managed to overlook that 🤦🏻♀️ I’ve recorded my wrap up and am not mentioning the sequel in that video. Thank you kindly for pointing it out 💛
I loved the perfume bottle!!! I can’t wait to see the Halloween version of a bottle of poison!! It’s going to be incredible!!!
Goldfinch, A Little Life, and The Poppy War series are also some of my ALL TIME FAVORITES! Great minds think alike! Lololol…great video! ❤
Ah Jody, I’m so glad to hear it. They’re all such special books in their own ways ☺️💛

@@aiscahill and this is exactly why you're one of my fave booktubers
How to kill you family was unputdownable for me, had to fine out how it all panned out. Think it’s a marmite book tho x
I’ve been tempted to pick it up. Thanks for the recommendation, Katie ☺️
