SUMMARY
1. If you have a 10 year gc, divorce does not affect your GC status but you may need to wait 5 years to naturalize. If you have a 2 year conditional GC, there are potential issues unless you can prove that the marriage and divorce is in good faith. The conditions of you moving on to a 10 year Greencard is that you are still maintaining a bona fide marriage. You've had time to gather more proof.
2. Secondly, do not need to stay in an abusive marriage because you have a temporary Greencard. If you haven’t filed, you have better options than enduring physical or psychological abuse.
3. Third, if you are experiencing abuse, your spouse is refusing to sign the i-751 or you already divorced, you have the option to file a waiver with your form I-751. Your waiver should discuss your good faith marriage and the events that led to the break of the relationship.
