Very good video, and thanks for all those detailed steps! I followed your first and second part of this 951 engine rebuilt and I have here a few comment: - I don’t think it’s a good idea to over grease this sealed bering since the seal could pop-up under high speed where grease can heat-up if there isn’t any air space. Check a new sealed bearing for comparaison. -In personally dont use anymore Superlube synthetic grease on o-ring. Found that this grease can react with Buna-N material (or nitrile NBR), material can expand or get sticky. I always use Parker or Dow O-ring lubrifiant. -Also, I understand that it’s important to be very meticulous keeping the edge clean prior putting the 1211 sealant, perhaps didn’t we miss here some important lub to put during the assembly on the connecting rods/crank attachments, on the rings/pistons inserts, on the cylinders walls, etc. I personally like to use some SAE90 oil, I may be using some too much? Perhaps, it’s better than not enough… This was my one cent comment, and I just wanted to share!
Awesome video, very informative. I just bought a 2000 and 2002 GTX Millennuim editions. Last of the two stroke models. About to tear them apart and rebuild. Fingers crossed.
I noticed that you put the black ring with the chrome silver edge on the bottom and the silver gray ring on the top. Ive been going back and forth on this for a while and i finally called WSM to see what ring goes where. Now usually we always put silver on top and black in the bottom but in the case of the 951 with the Riken rings. Their “PWC guru” says the black ring with the chrome silver edge goes on top and the silver ring goes on the bottom. This goes against what im seeing on almost every 951 rebuild and forum post im seeing. 😳

Hm I don't know. Yea I was just going by what I read and the videos in saw. All I saw was the silver on top.

Dude… where did you find a 3 hole 951 base gasket. I’m doing one now… I’d love to find a 2 hole… but I could live with a 3 hole.
A company called Cometic makes them. They are custom made. It takes weeks but worth it.
