It is wonderful that you are able to get on these private courses and provide a video on what life could be like the average golfer had that kind of money.
Throwback to Mike and Marko of Golfholics for always playing Santaluz! The OG golf UA-camrs!
Yes, and the ~amazing~ Santaluz CC was the site of their annual Golfholics Invitational (team-scramble). I had the ~privilege~ of playing in their last Golfholics Invitational (July-2019) before control-vid screwed everything up. Great time.⛳
I fold my wet towel so that it's about 5" wide and hang it off the rear basket next to my bag. That way I can come back and single-handed wipe off a clubface or a ball. At least if they aren't too dirty. When I get home I hang it up near the tailgate of my car so that it dries out quickly and doesn't get smelly. I use it probably 20 times before I wash it in the laundry, between times I just make sure to rinse it out under running water really good before playing.
Santaluz was/is Marko's home course from Golfholics. I recall seeing you on their channel back in the day when you still lived in Cali.

I am 62 and only golfed for 3 years now. I live in Michigan so really only maybe a year. Lol
I don’t have instagram or accounts but I do love watching your videos! My towel I hang on the basket and I have never been on a course with a sand bottle attached to the cart. I’m afraid that if you rated any of my golf carts they wouldn’t be over a 5!

Matt, Love the high end golf club reviews and on course strategy lessons. You are so effortless in the sand really enjoy watching your approach to golf. Played at Torrey Pines when I was in San Diego a few years ago and saw the entrance to SantaLuz always wondered what the course and play on it was like. Sorry I don’t do instagram. Keep up the good work and the wonderful videos.
I worked here back in 2013-2015. Place is awesome and the members were great! The club let outside golf staff play/practice anytime during the week. Bet I averaged 3 rounds a week.
Usually fold twice length ways and throw the wet 1/2 thru windshield. The wind does dry out the towel, so I do this at the turn as well. It keeps your shoes from getting messy from the towel from being in the floor. Keeps the towel much cleaner too.
The wet towel has to be wrapped around the sand bottle. It's by your clubs and it's an easy way to clean your clubs with half of the towel wet and half dry. And always take it on the greens to clean your ball. Super efficient way to play golf IMHO
I have an Oakley towel with a hole in the middle of it. It loops through itself on my bag ring thing. I take my water bottle ,always in my bag and just wet the bottom of the towel on one dangling end. Rest of towel stays dry . I have small pieces of old bath towel for in my pocket . Good for on the green quick clean.
I have a club scrub. The Wet towl gets used to cool off during summer. Add ice and put it in the cart cooler.
My buddy Gus was on the maintenance team and responsible for the condition of the fairways and Greens.
Was fortunate to play this course many times over the years!

Played there during the golfholics tournament and it was by far the best course i have ever played in southern california

My bucket list is to be able to play on a golf course as beautiful as that. Weather, scenery, tee box, fairways, greens and bunkers. West coast in San Diego or East Coast in Florida. Thanks for the review and video. Hopefully I can win the lottery and get to be a member of club like that.

Great course and great score! i just keep topping up half my towel with water, and keep the other half dry.. wet side hanging down!
You could add cup reviews along with the flagstick. How well the cup is cut, how damaged the base is, if the edge is painted white etc…
Great review … hang my wet town on the rain cover brace on the cart. Easy to get to and not dripping on my bag
Always love your content. Neat to see a high-end club & course for those of us not lucky enough to have that kind of disposable income. Really liking the Stracka books in use. Making them look more & more like a "must have" on any course.
I put a small carabinar through top middle of towel and attach towell to a bag clip - easy to use and easy on and off.
I love seeing you tryout all the golfclubs in USA.... If you want to - you are more than wellcome to try some of the golf courses here in Denmark, Scandinavia. Almost all Golf courses are public courses... and most courses are in excellent condition.
I love to watch these course reviews. I will never play a course like this unless I win the lottery. Wow just beautiful. We all dont live in the same world.
Great videos. I live here play Torrey Pines. Never had a chance to play this course. Just don’t know anyone if you ever want to review Torrey you may already have I’m not sure… I can get you in for the city rate.

Extra gloves to swap out go on the A-pillar of the cart, Wet towel and dry towel both go on the B-Pillar. Awesome video!
Depending on the basket on the back of the cart to where I put my wet towel. If I can loop it thru a hole on the basket, I'll do that. If not, I pin it between my bag and the strap on the cart. Great review and a beautiful course!

Been watching your videos for about 2 years always on my TV. Finally subscribed as you deserve it. I wet the top of my towel and attach to my bag. Wash and dry with one towel, but always have two, Sure would like to play a few of the courses you get to play so enjoy them for the rest of us.
This course looks absolutely phenomenal. Used to watch the Golfholics vlogs from there. Was jealous then just as much as I am now.
As for the wet towel thing, I never got into doing that. Think I may need to start as it does make sense. At least even it comes to cleaning clubs. I do need to get better at that part.
i have towels from Pins and Aces that have the split in the middle to fit over your clubs. wet one half, the other half dry.
Matt, great review. I am glad you like the greens and bunkers. I was part of the team who provided the greens mix and bunker sands and yes I would agree the course and facilities are top notch and awesome to play. Wet towels go on the sand bucket.
I hang my wet towel off the rear basket next to the clubs. Easy to wipe, then back in the bag. Loved the video Matt! Keep up the good work!

I have 2 towels. Both on carabiners clipped to the bag. Easy to unclip a small towel to take greenside.

Matt! What a neat review of what looks to be a really sweet course. You do a wonderful job of just enough course footage, amenities, and overviews to keep us all hooked. Ferrari in the parking lot? Yep, probably a nice place… 😂
The club I play at has the sand bottles on the left side of my cart so I just throw the towel around them and don't have to worry about anything getting wet from it. Also makes it nice and convenient to clean my club, put it away and grab the sand bottle without having to move around
I usually hang the towel around the frame of the cart behind the seat. Really enjoy the video as always!!
Great vid Matt. These are a great break when the sponge is full watching and learning your other educational videos. Gotta get ya up here to the Great White North to play some golf. You’ll love it. In addition to a damp towel, I started using a dish brush with a water reservoir to scrub my clubs during a round, still do. Damp towel, hanging on my push cart.

Love your review videos. I am in SD too . I hang my towel on the roof post behind the drivers seat. Only wet one end so I have a wet end and a dry end.

I put my towel out of the back of the basket on the cart so it’s close to my bag. Before my club goes back in the bag, it’s cleaned. Love your videos man…. Would love to see you review some courses in upstate N.Y.

@11:50 you say 'nice fresh water' as you take your towel and squeeze out the water back into the bucket... I think you're supposed to dunk the towel in and squeeze the water OUTSIDE of the bucket. Great course.
