Dude this is my fav riff ever of AIC! it sounds so Hypnotic and the chorus just slaps hard.. Thanks for the very straight forward tutorial and simultaneuosly clear and precise! Good Job man looking forward to the nxt tutorial.
This is how I learned the intro many years ago. But this video helped me nail the chorus riff and fills. Awesome video friend. Love the tabs with explanations
Spot on! Thank you so much for the clear and easy to follow tutorial! I have seen a lot of these kind of channels on UA-cam before but this is by far the best! I have learned a ton of songs by watching this channel and I truly appreciate your talent not only to play the guitar but to teach as well.
Hi Matt, been awhile, how's you tubing going. I've taken a break off the songs but every time I hear a good one in the car, I gotta play it too. I joined Active Melody for a bit. Thanks for this old one from Layne and Jerry. Peace and Cheers mate.
Watching Jerry play this stuff live, there are just a couple corrections to make. The sitar part is up higher on the neck, and starts with a droning 7th fret A on the D string between each high note (D-7, G-9, D-7, B-8, D-7, G-9, D-7, B-10, etc). It ends with the 7th fret on the B G and D strings, as opposed to the D5 in first position. The chorus is close, but instead of playing F5 for the second chord, it’s actually an Fb5. So, first fret on the low E, with 2nd fret on the A. I absolutely love your lessons, man. Just had to point out a couple things.
Haha pickups are pretty high output and so is the Heavy (I’ve leant loads of my other gain pedals out haha) so went with some slightly lower output pups!
it's in 4/4 but it's just Jerry's phrasing. The first bend is on the first beat, but it's a 2 bar phrase so the second little bend is actually on the 1-and of the 2nd bar. Then it repeats again but ending with a D5 chord.
@@LetsPlayAll it gets a good sound. I was secretly hoping it was the next funny little boxes project. The one with 'Doot Doot' on it. Considering how well the 1991 turned out, I'd love for AIC to be the next one to try.
@@Always_in_C_standard ahh haha, stay tuned we're working on something that I'm sure you'll love for the next release! Andy's a little unwell at the moment but I'm sure he'll be back to it in no time so stay tuned :-)

Thank you for this - so underrated. Seeing man in the box all the time it is so refreshing to see the more interesting songs coming into the light
My favourite song of them!It sounds so exotic and fresh.
One of my all time favorite riffs!
I’ve always played the main riff with the hammer-on/pull off on the 2-3-2… totally makes sense that Jerry would do the bend lol

Sure. Now you do this. I had to learn this one on my own! Fun song!
This riff is so dirty/nasty/gritty/growley. One of the best riffs of the 90s.

Hey Alex, I'll get to them all eventually mate! Best place is Patreon for specific stuff
@@LetsPlayAll alright man i'm looking forward to it
What is the timing of the main riff? I know the little bend is always on the 1 but having a hard time feeling the rest

Please tell me the pedal you are using is unfinished metal grey with black sharpie writing on it.
Haha no, using the Empress Heavy, were you thinking the fake plastic trees pedal!?
