Reefkeeping can be a lonely passion, that’s for sure. Can totally relate. I have no close friends or family that are into the hobby, but it takes up a good part of my free time and brings me endless joy. Keep on keepin’ on, brother!
Its because they are money pits lol I try to get my friends into aquatics since they are always checking and asking about my tank lol they dont wunna invest tho easisr to just look at my they say or no room lol
Dude I feel the exact same as you, recently got Into the hobby around 5 months ago, but knowing that I created my sweet thriving tank on my own is so awesome and rewarding.
They probably put that honeycomb around the rim so your not scuffing up the glass with the hood if you chose to actually use the hood but if not good idea taking it off that will be clean 👌
I found that using the 12” gooseneck worked better for this tank. The AI prime is a surprisingly strong light. It was burning my corals until I raised it up from my initial height from 8” to about 12” from the surface.
Good to know thanks! Yeah I may raise mine a bit more. I recently turned down the lighting a bit though. I'm constantly moving something around. One coral colors up nice and is happy then another is getting too much light! Lol. I'll get there I suppose.
Have a 13 flex didnt know about the evo style before hand. Upgraded to a eheim compacton 1000 right of the bat way better flow and better water clarity set to about 50% and have vca vlex upgraid on the way in the mail. Fish and plant tank no corals.
Great Video. I recently started showing some love to my Fluval 13.5. I recently picked up "All For Reef" which can be dosed into nano's. It's specially formulated for it. A lot of the corals I have are from my Red Sea 350xl and it's wonderful to be able to bring corals from one tank to the other. Why do you only have 1 clownfish? Having Reef Safe Inverts are a lot of fun.
Awesome! And only one clownfish because the other jumped out unfortunately. Need to screen the top of the tank. Have a orange striped cardinal fish and a fire shrimp though.
Totally love the tank. I just bought one of these about two months ago and just started it up about two weeks ago. What kind of pump do you have? Meaning the size of the flow?
really nice, i just recently set up mine, i’m sort of a beginner with reefing, but do you think the stock light is good enough? i’m not having many issues besides a lot of hair algae but my crabs seem to be taking care of it.
i did buy a hagger but i could not adjust it properly. I put it at the lowest setting and still seemed like to much flow. Went with a nero 3 and still feel the same way. Any suggestions
Like anything else the reviews are going to be mixed. Especially on entry level priced equipment. I'm pretty happy with my hygger. Adjustable power and how it pulses. Can even have it on a schedule if you want. Keep in mind that those styles aren't directional like you can't pivot it but it does keep it compact. I'd say go with either one.
I know that mine doesn't exactly sit perfect in the bottom of the chamber haha. Depending on how it sits , plus I have my heater next to it in the same chamber, I'll just jostle it around if it's too noisy. There's typically other stuff making noise at my place so it doesn't always bother me terribly unless it sounds really bad. You could try encasing it with foam, zip tie foam around it etc. Would also help from keeping the pump clogged.
I wouldn't recommend using any dechlorinators or water conditioners for a reef tank. While it may make tap water safer for fish and other animals, you're still not completely getting rid of all the other nutrients that cause nuisance hair algae and bubble algae etc. Products like that in my opinion are great for fresh water fish only tanks.

I have fresh water tank with parrot fish . Good enough for now😂
Great tank. Enjoying seeing another Fluval owner.

Awesome video. I just ordered this tank today for my first saltwater tank 👍🏻
Cool tank. Turned my evo into a frag/nem tank. Happy reefing.

Great looking tank, I’m thinking of picking one of these up for my first saltwater tank. Or a jbj 28 nano cube
It might not be the most beautiful tank in the world, but it's nice , good work.
Great set up corals look great 👍🏽

I think it looks awesome, good job!

Wow i cant wait for a new led light thats for corals.
This looks awesome. I just got this exact tank I’m looking forward to getting into the hobby.
Thanks! Yep the Evos are great budget friendly tanks with room for upgrades. Good luck and have fun with it!
id add a net or egg crate to keep your fish from jumping
Where did you get your stand? I can’t seem to find a good enclosed stand. Don’t want an IKEA stand; worried about the weight.
What setting do you have your Hygger wave maker set to?
Where did you get your coral? It's very beautiful
nice tank! do you dose cal , mag and alk?
Thanks! I'm currently not dosing anything. I try to keep up with water changes using the Red Sea Coral Pro salt.
I have this wavemaker and it seems to be too much flow? Any tips?

I haven't had much experience with the stock evo light but it should be totally fine for low to medium light level corals.
i did buy a hagger but i could not adjust it properly. I put it at the lowest setting and still seemed like to much flow. Went with a nero 3 and still feel the same way. Any suggestions
hello! Where did you buy this blooming flux? Tks
What’s your lighting spectrum?
What is the heater called
what stand is that
Hey man , between jabao wave maker VS hygger , which one would you recommended? I have same tank , thanks

What is the new pump you installed?
What are your lighting parameters on the ai prime?
What’s the new upgrade pump for the fluval evo 13.5 ?
Eheim compact 1000. You can adjust the flow, it's pretty sweet.
@@realisticreefing9003 does the price go up on the setup because of that upgrade they added?
I have the same pump eheim 1000 compact and it is noisy as hell , any tips?

With your top off aio water can you just use tap water that has been dechlorinated
