- The Airfix Dornier Do 17 E/F is quite a nice kit for a nearly 50 year old tooling. It was built for the AllthingsAirfix Group Build hosted by Rob BasicModelling. The interior was scratchbuilt, and a miscast window needed to be newly vacformed.

awesome build! How’d you make the thing you placed it on it looks great too
Great to see the build alltogether in one video.. :) Excellent end result... :) :)
Thank you! After the somewhat protracted build spanning 2 group builds, editing and publishing the video also took its sweet time. Glad you like it!
Looks very good! Interesting kit, interesting build, interesting result! Nice done! All the best for You! ;)
Thanks much! 👍
Well you did do that kit justice! I just love all the effort that mostly only you are aware of...
Thanks! RS Models now has a Do17E with a much better interior, but this classic Airfix kit just got some old fashioned sprue and plasticard!
Stunning Camo!!
Thanks, glad you like it too! 😉
You did a great job with the splinter camo. I also added scratch built cockpit details to the Dornier I’m working on. Your beautiful finish has inspired me to get mine into the paint shop!
Thanks, and good luck with the paintjob!🤙
That's a truly banging splinter pattern! 👌👌👌
Thanks, I really like those early 'cubist' camo patterns!
Very nice. Love the camo. Have a great day.
Thank you for the compliment!
Beautiful build. Enjoy all your videos immensely.
Thanks, and you're welcome! 😉
very nice to see another of Your videos. my only "complaint" would be the format, as i personally prefer the ones when i hear Your comments on the build and the kit. congrats on another inspiring build.
Thank you!
In fact I was working on some new build videos with direct commentary (as opposed to these 'slideshow with music' vids) but I had a nasty harddisk crash a while back. I'm still trying to piece together what I could salvage, while also working on 'new style' build vids. Live commentary vids coming up soon!
@@KitKabinet sorry about that. keep up the good work!
@@tornado2201 No worries m8, thanks for visiting 🤙
You did an amazing job on this classic kit. It stands up after almost 50 years of tooling.
Thanks!
I think it can still compete with the newer detailed RS kit on which I based a lot of detail that I added in this model. The typical short run issues of RS kits (bad fit, somewhat crude smaller parts) even out against the ease with which this model went together.
@@KitKabinet fully agree and I think I speak for a lot of us modellers when I say that you should enjoy the process of model building, even if it's on an old kit! Well done sir 👌
That’s a really nice looking build. Actually unbelievable that you could make a 50yo old kit look this well. Good to see you back again. The camo colours look perfect, out of benieuwdheid may I ask which brand of paints you used? Thanks…
Thank you!
The brown (RLM 61) and light blue (RLM 65) are from Vallejo Air directly from the bottle, the green (RLM 62) is a mix of several Vallejo Air greens. The grey (RLM 63) is Revell Aqua 76.
dorni-errr ,not dornjee it's German not French👍
Claude Honoré Désiré Dornier, who founded Dornier Flugzeugwerke, was of French descent. Although a German citizen, in most German-spoken audio the French pronunciation of his name is still used.
