For those of you who are unsure or confused about Kazuo Tengan’s intricate plan, this is what I believe happened during the Final Killing Game in Danganronpa 3: The End Of Hope’s Peak High School - Side: Future. 1. Kazuo Tengan watched the Despair video that Chisa Yukizome had given him and became infected by despair like the Class 77-B students. 2. Like Nagito Komaeda, Kazuo was a huge believer in hope at the same time, despite being a Remnant of Despair. Therefore, he decided to start the Final Killing Game among the Future Foundation leaders (except for Ryouta Mitarai, because Kazuo originally wanted Ryouta to release his Hope video after hearing about the game). Kazuo also aimed to get rid of all the big honchos of the Future Foundation (especially Kyousuke Munakata and Makoto Naegi) who would otherwise not let the Hope video plan succeed. 3. Monaka Touwa was in contact with Kazuo, and they struck a deal. Monaka was allowed to infiltrate the game by killing Miaya Gekkougahara and replacing her with a robot. It was most probably that Kazuo himself who gave Monaka access to Miaya’s work station, bypassing the Future Foundation’s security system, as Miaya’s corpse was later found in her work attire. Monaka’s main goal was to see Makoto up close, but Kazuo also wanted her to get rid of some of the participants if necessary, and therefore the robot was equipped with so many weapons. The robot also had a device that was able to connect to the Future Foundation by phone, in case it was necessary to do so in order to spread the news about the killing game so it would reach Ryouta and push him over the edge. 4. Monaka obtained all the participants' NG codes and retained the information on that electronic device inside the Miaya robot. This was the same device that Kyousuke later got hold of, after destroying the robot with his sword. 5. Monaka was also the one likely to help produce the Monokuma monitors and the armbands with the NG codes, from the highly advanced technology from the Touwa industries that she was controlling. 6. Makoto was summoned to attend the trial as the killing game was about to commence. The security guards were killed by Monaka's or Kazuo's people, the same people that were in the helicopter attacking Yasuhiro Hagakure outside. 7. Ryouta unexpectedly arrived at the trial, which surprised Kazuo, as he hadn't anticipated Ryouta being included in the killing game. Nevertheless, it had to go ahead with or without Ryouta. 8. After activating the sleeping gas (likely dropped from the Miaya robot's wheelchair), Kazuo moved the unconscious participants' bodies to the underwater facilities within the same building. Of course he knew that Kyousuke, being the only other person who knew about the underwater facilities, would sooner or later notice it. 9. When the game participants regained their consciousness in the decoy room, the Monokuma that appeared on the giant monitor was being controlled by Monaka. That was a live show, unlike Monokuma's introduction speech at the start of the brainwashing video. That was why Monokuma was able to respond to everyone's reaction to Chisa Yukizome's dead body, and also to change Usami's appearance on the Miaya robot's computer screen, right then and there in front of everyone. Also, Monokuma singled out Makoto during that live appearance, which was an indication of Monaka's obsession with observing Makoto. 10. In order to make the access to the breaker room a bit more difficult, Kazuo arranged for the door to be hidden by that huge bookshelf. This was likely done as an extra measure, in case someone (other than Kyousuke) figured out the connection with the Monokuma monitors. 11. Kazuo gave Ryouta a spare wristband (as he hadn't prepared one specifically for Ryouta), which was why the NG code was very generic (Using Your Talent) compared to some of the others that were a lot more personalised (Opening Doors, Using Your Fist, etc.). Kazuo probably actually didn't mind it, even though his goal was kind of the opposite (i.e. to get Ryouta to use his talent), because of his own twisted mind due to despair. Great Gozu's NG code was probably the easiest to avoid. This might be because Gozu was Kazuo's very loyal bodyguard and Kazuo had a soft spot for him. 12. During the killing game, Kazuo deliberately agitated Kyousuke by telling him that everyone there was an attacker. This was partly his despair talking, and partly his aim to have Kyousuke eliminate the other participants. Like Junko Enoshima, Kazuo didn't want his plan to run smoothly as the possibility of failing would be despairful in itself. 13. His dying message "I entrust the hope of the world to you" was perhaps actually directed at Ryouta, Kyousuke, Makoto, and Monaka at the same time.
Monaca isn't actually on hopes side or despairs side. Monaca started out being a despair but got tired of it and she didn't want to end up like komaeda so she went to live in space and live her life as a shut in otakou.
You forgot about Kirigiri sacrificing herself for Naegi before Tsumiki gave her the Resurrection potion that Kimura made. (Much like Jesus-style; just remove the cross off of the equation.
No, that's wrong. Kirigiri found the Antagonist Cure W on Seiko's dead body during her investigation of it. Knowing what her forbidden action was, Kyoko took the bottle and kept it for the fourth time limit. If you look really closely at the end of Future 9, you can see the empty bottle rolling on the ground of the room they barricade themselves in, presumably from Kyoko's left hand (her perspective, right-hand side of the screen in the watcher's perspective).
i think i should watch the gameplays, im broke asf and i only know everything due to the fandom spoiling me edit:nvm got the game for free (thh and goodbye despair)

DR1 is my favorite (despite my favorite character being from dr3) so knowing that they all knew each other before the world went to shit makes me SO SAD
2 things: 1. It isn't certain if Tengan was actually Remnant of Despair, or if he was just acting this way to push Ryota in to uplaoding the Hope video. 2. I don't know why people missunderstand it, but Ryota never started the transmision of the "Hope video". The thing that WAS appearing on the screens across the world, was just the "hypnotism video", that forced people to look at the screens, IN PREPARATION to playing "Hope video".
+D Don Slipo has a point, as I said two months ago, but not to my view. Kazuo Tengan is a Remnant, meaning he aligns himself to Junko's despair. But, he used his position as such to "force Ryota's hand" to release the Hope Video, which Tengan (might've) asked Ryota to make beforehand.
P.S.: Tengan was a Remnant at the time of the "Purge" but he hoped that the tree of Hope would be refreshed from time to time with the blood of the Remnants and of the FF members. He got his wish. Rephrased from Thomas Jefferson's quote "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants" with the swap of "patriots" and "tyrants".
Tengan couldn't lie. He said he wasn't a remnant of despair. EDIT: Oh great, killer killer contradicts his very statement. His NG code didn't activate either. :/ 3 didn't make any sense anyway.
Thank you so so much!! I absolutely adore this franchise and I want to understand it to the best of my ability, but the plotline and timeline is all so convoluted and confusing that it almost hurt my brain to think about. Thank you for this video, it really helps a lot.
@@taetaesbarbie5629 All of them survived but Kyoko almost died cause her Forbidden task was letting Makoto survive for 4 sleep times and she was put in a deep coma and Seiko(Ultimate Chemist or something like that) made a drug that Mikan used on Kyoko and then Hajime and his class went back to Jabberwock Island and Makoto became the Headmaster of Hope's peak and Kyoko became his kind of an assistant
@@morax9758 correction: Kyoko found the drug on Seiko's body, and took it shortly before the 4th time limit expired. Mikan "revived" her from her comatose state, essentially making her physically well enough to wake up soon after. But the curing of the poison was all Kyoko's (and inadvertently Seiko's) doing.

13. His dying message "I entrust the hope of the world to you" was perhaps actually directed at Ryouta, Kyousuke, Makoto, and Monaka at the same time.
wow thank you
monaca*
Bro thank you so much I was literally spending the past 6 days thinking about the reason for Tengans action and now you told me ❤️
Wow. You put a lot of time into this.
(Much like Jesus-style; just remove the cross off of the equation.
she gets revived doe
No, that's wrong. Kirigiri found the Antagonist Cure W on Seiko's dead body during her investigation of it. Knowing what her forbidden action was, Kyoko took the bottle and kept it for the fourth time limit. If you look really closely at the end of Future 9, you can see the empty bottle rolling on the ground of the room they barricade themselves in, presumably from Kyoko's left hand (her perspective, right-hand side of the screen in the watcher's perspective).
@@DebraKadabra yea we all know she got revived lol

Wow. I'm actually really appreciative of this video because I never realized how much I really missed. What sucks is that a lot of the information needed to understand the entire Danganronpa series can't be found in the animated series alone, but thank you for summarising. It helps me to understand since I don't have the money to buy all the in between books.
I definitely recommend the games. There's so much in them that adds to the characters
I think this is the best summary of the series! As a fan of the Danganronpa franchise, I am amazed how simple you made it sound. And I am happy you included Danganronpa Zero and Killer Killer in this. Props for the effort!!

Glad you enjoyed it!
DR1 is my favorite (despite my favorite character being from dr3) so knowing that they all knew each other before the world went to shit makes me SO SAD
Now I’m starting to realize how messed up the storyline is......Oh well!
same-
2 things:
I think you made a point there.
Kazuo Tengan was confirmed to be a Remnant of Despair in Danganronpa Gaiden: Killer Killer. So Makoto Naegi's speculation was actually wrong.
I understood none of that

Welp, I understood almost everything about it. Thank you so much for helping me understand the story properly sir!
I was wondering how all of this connected! Thank you for explaining.
I’ve seen all parts of the series and watched gameplay but I’m still confused 😂😂
When they don’t mention that Kyoko actually survived danganronpa 3

3- Danganronpa another episode: ultra despair girls (game)
4- Danganronpa 2: goodbye despair (game)
5- Danganronpa 3: the end of Hope's Peak high school (anime)
