I just found your channel Cody. Interesting, I worked for Pepsi in 1963,64 and 65 in Winnipeg Manitobs Canada. Things were quite a bit different back then. It was all glass bottles with wooden shells, we called them. The plastic cases nowadays. We had 10 oz, 16oz and quarts which were called family size. And there were no pre-sales back then. It was all driver sales to big and little stores. I'm wondering if you guys and gals have heard this one from back then. < Coca Cola came to town, Pepsi Cola shot him down, Dr. Pepper fixed him up. Now they all drink 7-up >. It was cute back in the 60's. I was 17 when I started with them, as a swamper ( helper ) . Had to be 18 to have a chauffer's license up here. Oh yes, you had to sort out your empties from all the other soft drink company's. Lots of cut fingers in Safeway stores, as they threw all the bottles together in one bin. Anyways, thanks for the vid to get me reminiscing.
That’s awesome! That’s crazy how much it had changed and that’s a really cool story thanks for sharing. I’m glad the video brought back some memories for you. I also like that story I’ll have to share that. Thanks!

The sales people would always over stock the stores and constantly having to take cases back out of date. I worked for buffalo rock out of tuscaloosa for about 3 months. Management was terrible peacemake and wisdom were snakes. Took $300 out of my last check bc i “damaged” my linc radio. I did not damage it. The slide that holds the cover on the back of phone came off which was common for all the lincs of that model. In addition to those hack jobs you had to worry about the snake merchandisers trying to tattle tale on you to get a feather in their cap for a supervisor job. I too drove the bulk truck. Easy job but glad i left for a better job. It was a holdover job anyways. This was 2006 time frame

This my first vid from you and I really like your content. I have a retest only for my road portion, I got nervous and kept stalling. I can't wait to start my trucking journey and build my experience to make more money. Also, I'm from Texas and only going for local jobs. I like being home every night.
I ran a massive Coca-Cola warehouse. A full load of cans was about 46k pounds. TOTAL weight was ... marginal, but there was too much weight on the front axle. MANY times we would have a driver come back to our facility screaming about his $1200 fine from the weight station. Oops. We never did learn to do a 2-1-2 up front, but always went two across front to back.
Moved down from Ohio to Mississippi. Weather is so much better but not a huge fan of driving Northern Alabama "locally" haha Huntsville is a huge pain in my ass and I gotta stay in a hotel overnight and hotels aren't made for trucks.
I personally am an Amazon delivery driver, I just started doing it on Sunday. I like it for now, I’m thinking about getting my CDL sometime down the road
Im wondering whats the longest time to gotten to your stops. Is the stops around the corner for retail or do you at least drive far to get to next stop.??? Like how much is driving and how much is labor?

Trained for Mclane food service ,they deliver to longhorn, chadders, captain David,Oliver garden ,,couldn’t keep up w the pace ,u had 5 to 6 stops u had 1 to 2 hours to unload at each stop ,all u do is bring the pallets down like so and scan each box ,captains ds was the only store u had to break down the pallet and cart it in to the store ,u had 1,000 to 1300 boxes ,your payed for every box on truck @.24 cents topping at .32 cent mileage pay and stop pay I would say good money there but working overnight and at the pace u need to be to get done everyday by 2-3pm start all over at midnight ,one or two just depending on what time your first stop is of course if u get put on one certain route u will get to know what time u need to leave to be at each stop ,but yeah local work like food service is not for me ,I’ve only ran otr and dedicated no touch freight drops and live unloads and local food delivery was a different animal working on as the company imployees did Make mention it was true for me
I thought about doing this kind of job in truck driving I have delivery experience my driving record is not the best does anyone have any recommendations or advice

I’m looking into to applying for the one in athens GA, I’m currently at Publix in the warehouse and I used to drive for them too, are the trucks all autos? Or some manuals and are the routes based on seniority and do you do the same stores/stops every time
Also is it paid straight by the hour or is there some production? Like Publix pays by the hour and load kinda, they’ll give you a run that says 4 hours if you do it in 4 or less you get paid 4 hours if you take 5-6 hours you only get paid 4 hours
I work for Pepsi in sc conway cool lift works 5 days bulk works 5 to 6 y do u put up empty and credited on the right side of the trailer we put our on the left
You all finally got rid of those crappy devices also those pallets are not the standard size it was so annoying to move them (I was receiving at Target)
What’s so hard about this job? I’m a new trucker and haven’t started my first job yet but looking for one. I wanna start long haul since it’s recommended, but what’s so bad about Pepsi? I get Sysco, that’s just too hard. FYI, I am a skinny dude but not that skinny.
This really depends on the ones in your area and if it wastes a lot of time to go around them. Of course if your company takes care of the trucks you could just run through them.
I left there a year ago after being there for six years and I do not miss that shit at all I went to LTL and I’m making eight dollars more an hour and free health insurance

Every state in between. They start right now at .55 cents per mile. I’m out usually a month and then home for three days. My wife has somewhat adjusted, but would like me home more often.
What do yall use for gps? Do you have a garmin or just use your phone..
Remember being a merchandiser. They would give me 10 Walmart supercenters or equivalent size stores to finish in an 8 hour shift.
I know man the merchandisers have it rough!
Hey Cody I’m from maryland I really enjoy ur channel bout to go for road test Pepsi I’m a lil nervous but I’ll lean on training I’m a new driver but u answered
Question about nervousness. Preciate ya.
Aye! Congrats and good luck to you trust your skills and take your time you got it! Keep me updated thanks for watching💪🏼
This my first vid from you and I really like your content. I have a retest only for my road portion, I got nervous and kept stalling. I can't wait to start my trucking journey and build my experience to make more money. Also, I'm from Texas and only going for local jobs. I like being home every night.
Thanks a lot and good luck to you I’m sure you’ll crush the next test. Good luck and keep me updated
@@Codystruckingadventures I appreciate that man, I sure will on it.
No weigh stations where I’m at😂
Just found your Chanel love it
Thank you!
i just started merchandising for a beer distributor, we had a few loads like this
Yeah man it sucks when it happens that’s for sure.
I worked for Frito-Lay and its almost the same exact thing. Big stores like Walmart, and Target are a nightmare
nice stuff bro from a beer driver !
Moved down from Ohio to Mississippi. Weather is so much better but not a huge fan of driving Northern Alabama "locally" haha Huntsville is a huge pain in my ass and I gotta stay in a hotel overnight and hotels aren't made for trucks.
That’s awesome Mike, I agree man I’ve always said Huntsville is much worse than Atlanta as far as driving through.
I’m in liquor delivery and we just had a stop for 531 cases of liquor an wine! That’s the biggest I dine so far
Are you guaranteed dry van with pallets? I ain't doing the stocking gas stations and stuff like that 😂
Lol I don’t blame you and no just basically depends on what’s available
I personally am an Amazon delivery driver, I just started doing it on Sunday. I like it for now, I’m thinking about getting my CDL sometime down the road
I drove for FedEx for five years I would def say go for it
Im wondering whats the longest time to gotten to your stops. Is the stops around the corner for retail or do you at least drive far to get to next stop.??? Like how much is driving and how much is labor?
Two days a week I drive 100 miles the rest of the time it’s less than that. More delivering than driving most days
Thanks for answering the hiring questions I have my interview, agility test, and training video coming this Wednesday morning. Good to know that I will know if I got the spot that day! Thanks again. Keep up the great videos!!
That’s what’s up man!!
@@Codystruckingadventures any pointers?
@@TheEagle14489 just he yourself bro they’re gonna hire you man
@@Codystruckingadventures sweet! Thanks bro. Good truckin
@@Codystruckingadventures well I got the watch your email and three verbal winks!!
Where did you get food poisoning at? We need to know if possible so no one else gets sick. Thank you for driving 🚛stay safe. 🛣️
There was a food truck here in my area where I got it from! Thanks for a lot!
Enjoy the videos. I’m running side loader as a route relief till a route opens. Hopefully our location goes full geo by the end of the year
Thanks for watching I heard those side loaders are tough. Keep grinding💪🏼💯
Same Jose respect bro! Hey what facility do u work out of? I'm in Pompano FL we do sideload here too but going Geo by the end of the year
I’m at the St. Petersburg FL location. Just applied for the bulk delivery position. Hoping I get off this side loader real soon
@@josesanchez7299I’m applying to work at St Petersburg location. What does geo mean? Is there a Sarasota location? I thought I saw one but now I don’t see it. I could be thinking of a different company.
When you’re in training do they train you on your specific route and take you too all the stores you will be going too?
Yeah they do they make sure you that you see the route and everything first.
Trained for Mclane food service ,they deliver to longhorn, chadders, captain David,Oliver garden ,,couldn’t keep up w the pace ,u had 5 to 6 stops u had 1 to 2 hours to unload at each stop ,all u do is bring the pallets down like so and scan each box ,captains ds was the only store u had to break down the pallet and cart it in to the store ,u had 1,000 to 1300 boxes ,your payed for every box on truck @.24 cents topping at .32 cent mileage pay and stop pay I would say good money there but working overnight and at the pace u need to be to get done everyday by 2-3pm start all over at midnight ,one or two just depending on what time your first stop is of course if u get put on one certain route u will get to know what time u need to leave to be at each stop ,but yeah local work like food service is not for me ,I’ve only ran otr and dedicated no touch freight drops and live unloads and local food delivery was a different animal working on as the company imployees did Make mention it was true for me
Thanks for the info! I’ve heard how hard it is man I know I wouldn’t want to even try it!
1ST time watcher, did I hit return & watch a portion 2X. ?
I don't miss the grocery business
Just found this channel and subscribed.. so were you done for the day after that last delivery?
Thanks for the sub! And yeah once you do last delivery you are done👍🏼
I'm guessing C. Just subscribed. Be safe out there
Thanks so much!
I thought about doing this kind of job in truck driving I have delivery experience my driving record is not the best does anyone have any recommendations or advice

Are these trucks Manuel or automatic ?
How much they pay in your 3 weeks training?
Damn that first stop is a dump 😂
Buffalo Rock. Ugh i remember those days.
Damn you have a bulk route yeah you're very fortunate
I delivered in Jacksonville fl Pepsi, got there 1830 they didn't unload me the next day 0800.
how many hours do you work a day? seems like a half day and done?
I got in at 3:00 am and usually done by 11-11:30 so 8
love you showings i say number 1
Hey boss man , i see you haven’t posted in a while so im hoping you can respond to this but anyhow, i’ve had my cdl 3 months and im trying to get on at pepsi but im curious if there background check is a fingerprint background check? i have no felonies but i understand you don’t qualify some local jobs on certain misdemeanors .
B for the answer thing nice video good job
I work for Pepsi in sc conway cool lift works 5 days bulk works 5 to 6 y do u put up empty and credited on the right side of the trailer we put our on the left
You all finally got rid of those crappy devices also those pallets are not the standard size it was so annoying to move them (I was receiving at Target)
Right
Does Pepsi pay for your CDL ??
What’s so hard about this job? I’m a new trucker and haven’t started my first job yet but looking for one. I wanna start long haul since it’s recommended, but what’s so bad about Pepsi? I get Sysco, that’s just too hard.
FYI, I am a skinny dude but not that skinny.
How many Weight Stations do you deal with during your week?
This really depends on the ones in your area and if it wastes a lot of time to go around them. Of course if your company takes care of the trucks you could just run through them.
Here in the tri state area, Dr.Pepper is distributed by Coke.
What state you drive in ? And what’s ya a schedule ? Here in Harrisburg they offering 4 day work week ,
Alabama, the retail routes work four a week here and the bulk route runs five.
I left there a year ago after being there for six years and I do not miss that shit at all I went to LTL and I’m making eight dollars more an hour and free health insurance
Recently found your channel pretty Informative.
Thanks a lot!!
Do you have the option to work 7days a week if you want it ?
Not where I was at
