it would be so great. I fear she will never win a grammy for best album because every year there is some mega-hit album that catches all the attention, while she makes this intimistic music that is not for the mainstream public. I mean yes, she sells million of copies and she is beloved, but her music is too complex to generate that kind of easy hype. having her winning for best song written for visual media might be a cool way to give her her due.

This was the last song Rhaegar sang before he went to fight Robert at the Battle of the Trident, the song is actually a prophecy of one of his sons, turns out it was about Jon
Nope ,this was sung during false spring at harrenhal .Rhaegar sings this during feast and it is said that lynna cries hearing the song and falls in love with him, after that they dont see eachother for a year and then he abducts her (I doubt that's tha case ) and both move to dorne, after almost an year again the mad kings asks rhaegar to stop baratheon conquest(as mad king decides to kill both the starks who came to seek punishment to rhaegar for lynna's abduction jon arrys raises the banner to defend thier honor so thats what starts the barathron rebellion) ,that's when he dies at battle of trident . Also, the story behind the song - Jenny supposedly is the ghost who makes rhaegar believe in prophesies .The fire in summerhall kills almost every targaryen except one -Rhaegar .So he dedicates this song to to Jenny .Jenny was his Jon's aunt who married Duncan, who also died in Summerhall, so Jenny is the ghost who want to protect the promised king aka azor ahai aka jonsnow to fullfill the prophesies by killing the night king .

This song brings back all the memories of Game of Thrones. All those stories, all those journeys, all that raw emotion - the joy, the pain, the struggle, the fight, the relentless urge to explode and wish you were in battle against the Night King, the images in your mind of Jon (Aegon) fighting so hard and having to sacrifice everything to fulfil his duty even at the expense of his love (Dany), the images of all our heroes dying, the path which they all took from 10 years ago, from bad to good or worse, it all culminates in this masterful performance of Jenny of Old Stones. How I wish I was Aegon when I listen to this, how I wish his pain and sacrifices were rewarded. He fought all his life. From being treated terribly as a bastard to finding out he was the one true king of Westeros. He earnt his Kingship on his own merits - thats how great he was. Aegon the Dragonwolf 6th of his name and protector of the realm, Jon Stark the White Wolf and King in the North, The Prince who was Promised, the Song of Ice and Fire, 998th Lord Commander of the Nights Watch, the Undead and reborn, the slayer of the King beyond the wall, the one man who united the kingdoms against their common enemy even at the expense of his own life - Aegon (Jon) Targaryen goes by many names. He is the Last Dragon. The King who killed his Queen, his love, his family....to save the world..once more. How tragic is his life.
I love how the audience kept silence during the whole song, they truly appreciated the atmosphere of the song. I don't mind if people sing along, I just hate when people unnecessarily scream at subtle moments. Like at 3:24 and 3:50, when there was just her voice, which is absolutely beautiful, no one ruined that with their scream.
The first time I heard of a show called "Game of Thrones" was in 2011, when I watched the trailer for Season 2 without having a single clue about it. And then I heard the song: Seven Devils. That was it. 8 years later GoT is my all- time favorite show, and there is a copy of the deluxe edition album "Ceremonials" in my house. GoT would have never caught my attention, if it wasn't for Florence + the Machine and I would miss out on this phenomenal series. So, thank you Florence❤
This song is all about living in the past. Kinda appropriate to the conversation here. Many of us wish we could go back to when the promise of this being the best TV series ever made was real. That’s the ghost we dance with that we never wanted to leave.
Aline Marfil After having an empty ache post season 8 of Thrones, I started Outlander and couldn’t help but think of this song while watching the show. Would be so so fulfilling to hear her write/sing something for it.

I see you. I see you, wolf child. Blood child. I thought it was the lord who smelled of death ... You are cruel to come to my hill, cruel. I gorged on grief at Summerhall, I need none of yours. Begone from here, dark heart. Begone!
@@tgiacin435 Yeah, like this bit makes no sense at all. Saved us all?!
@@memysurname7521 apparently she’s the delfacto main character of this series cause there were multiple times she should’ve died. But guess they didn’t have to follow their own rules by season 8
I always stan this kind voices. Soothing and therapeutic.
Omg... Such a lovely witch ♥️🙏
WOW.....she NAILED that!!!
Her voice is so beautiful, gosh 😭🌹⚔️
I keep coming back. I love the way she sings this song.
Truly one of the highlights of this season. Thank you ❤️❤️❤️👏👏🙌🙌
3:46 "and the ones she had found"
I felt that through my soul, holy shit!
It's just amazing. The best performance...And her voice is so great! This is only one good thing in season 8.
The mood of this episode... Not tense, not angry, just perfect... Captured it. So Beautifully. Made it the best episode of the whole series. Possibly by far. Even if Dany was getting screwed over already, even if there was a nostalgic sadness to it... It was completely perfect. From title to end. “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.”
Am i the only one getting my eyes teary by hearing this heavenly voice and the soulful touching lyrics?😓
She is such a master of her own voice! There is not one sound that is unintentional or doesn't convey a message
This made me cry and shiver and smile I'm a mess right now. It's simply stunning. Florence Welch thank you for sharing your gift and love.
my god this live cut is heartbreaking and so very beautiful...

This song brought tears to my DOG's eyes. And I was tearing up with him. I'm a sap!
