    I just realized that except for the casters, this design doesn't use any screws.
    Very nice!

    You put in a lot of planning, especially using a small CNC. Well done!
    I have a 2'×4' CNC myself, and I always think it's too small to build larger items. But you've given me some ideas.
    I'd probably finish it with a mixture if boiled linseed oil, paint thinner, and polyurethane at a 1:1:1 ratio, after assembly. If it was unassembled, I'd probably prefinish the plywood with polyurethane.

      @Aribabox  Рік тому

      Thank you for the recommendations on the finishes. We will have to apply the polyurethane to all of our worksurfaces at some point so they last longer.
      Oh, you can build plenty of things on your 2'×4' CNC. And, if you master "tiling" you can build everything that can be made on a 4'x8' CNC.

    So glad to see you posting again, and once again you've done all the hard work, this design is precisely what I've needed to build for months.

    Davis, you gotta get some compression endmills. I use them on plywood all the time, and it packs the chips/dust in so well you can skip the tabs on thicker stock like that. Saves a ton of time cutting them free amd cleaning up the resulting mess.

      Thank you, Tony, for the recommendation. We will try it out.

      Thank you for the video. It looks great.
      Does this approach require cutting through the material in one pass?

    • @tonyrichmond9428
      @tonyrichmond9428 Рік тому +2

      @@Aribabox good question, and not at all. I use multiple passes all the time. The trick is to leave the last pass thick enough to still pack in plenty of chips. The first couple passes will still be packed in, but the chips get recut and don't seem to hold quite as well. On my more rigid cnc, i make the last cut at 6-8mm, and thats perfect. On my less rigid cnc I cut 3-5mm. Since it's less rigid, though, I'm using a strategy that reduces the cutting force anyway, so the part still doesn't move and it's still perfect.
      I also use some roughing-only passes on the way down, so the finish pass also moves IN while moving down, to skim the entire edge at the same time as the final depth to make a nicer finish.
      I bet you could set up a part, make a few programs of varying final depth, run them all and pick the best in under an hour. Good luck!

      @@tonyrichmond9428 Thank you for explaining this in such great detail.
      We will test this approach and see if we can implement it in future projects.

      @@apgkpsdgksd Thank you for your comment! Glad you enjoy our videos and our project files.
      There are plenty of tutorials on UA-cam that explain setting up the CNC in Fusion 360. For example, this video might be helpful for you - ua-cam.com/video/UFb7F6GRojc/v-deo.html
      You can add subtitles in Spanish to better understand the creator's explanation for each step.

    Hello ! Did you measure the plywood before starting the drawing and cnc ? I used a caliper to check and it looks like the plywood panels vary from 18mm to 18.4 mm. Should I adapt the dxf files to enlarge the pockets or is it better to keep the pockets that tight? Thanks !

    • @Aribabox
      @Aribabox  5 місяців тому +1

      Yes, to ensure the most precise joinery cuts, we always measure the material thickness before CNCing the parts.
      In situations, when the material thickness varies within the sheet, we recommend modifying the design to fit the smallest measurement. Tight joints are easier to fix than the loose ones.

    is this cut out on a Journeyman or Woodworker model? I have the woodworker 32"x32"

    • @Aribabox
      @Aribabox  7 місяців тому

      We made the workbench on the Journeyman CNC. You would still be able to make the project on the Woodworker model when using "tiling" to make the larger parts.
