"Fifty" put this song back on charts, simple fact. Also, its on youtube, for all to appreciate...so pipe down from your high horses. Its been written and it'll never go away, there are millions of young readers who are icthing to read "Fifty" once they're of age...so stand the fuck by for more. What did I get out of it? It led to "Classical Music" a whole new world of appreciation...a 180 turn from R&B and Rap. All I'm saying is...relax have a coke and a smile... enjoy Mr.Tallis' work of magic.
I hope you received an A on this project....you perfectly captured the beauty of sound with the beauty of sight...well done Carol...here I am 5 years later enjoying the work of an artist...that is a life lesson about planting the seed and letting God do the nurturing...thank you, Bette
We recently performed this, Striggio and Gabriel Jackson (both 40 parts) surrounding the audience. It was a magical experience for both singers and audience especially with 1 per part!
I'll be the first to admit I'm listening to this song because of 50 shades of grey but I'm happy the thank its author E L James for introducing me to it... I'll be downloading a copy of it once I get some iTunes credit :)
Not only was I listening to this music years before 50 Shades of Grey, I was f*%#ing to it long before the book came out too. This music was the best teacher I ever had on how to caress and touch another's skin. I hope God forgives me.
As a choral singer, I'm very much crushed that this piece wasn't spared from the crudeness that is that 50 shades of crap. Came here to listen to this again after close to a year of not doing so, and the top comment is 'christian grey and anastasis steele'. God help us. Love this recording.
I had my usual insomnia last night so I turned on my MP3. This piece played and I realized that it is one of the most beautiful pieces I have ever heard.
I think the main aim is to know/discover music. No matter how. If it's because of Grey or your friends, even commercials or anything the most important thing is that something brought you here and you wanted to get to know this music. Every reason is good to make your playlist better.
Pictures are from North Wales, England and Scotland. =) As well as some random ones thrown in from my cabin in Tahoe, CA as well the University area in Missoula, MT and Glacier National Park in MT. The choir that shows up is my choir performing at the National Eisteddfod in Wales in 2006.
@CaroMarie Could you make it more beautiful? No! It's absolutely beautiful! Thak You for uploading! The pictures are absolutely astounding, and the Music, oh the Music! Thomas Tallis! Excellent choice! You did absolutely wonderful! Absolutely Wonderful! God Bless!
Beautiful, thank you very much for sharing this masterpiece. And the slide show is quite lovely, pay no attention to ignorant statements. Some people couldn't appreciate beauty if it slapped them in the face. Lovely, thanks again.
Many thanks for that beautiful montage of pictures, the trouble being that one cannot pause or go back without disturbing the music, which in this case, would be sacrilege!
This piece of music...comments become irrelevant sometimes..! I have a friend here (N.Wales) who has a chapel which would be a great place to perform this piece so if there is anyone interested in performing at such a location...over looking the mountains of Snowdonia..get in touch..I would so love to see it perfomed live. The closest I have got to that is seeing/hearing the Janet Cardiff istalation at Tate Liverpoo in 2003...that was amazing...true soul music...
What's all the hubbub, Bub? It's a great piece of music written by a great composer and the added slide show only enhances the total experience. Enjoy!
i listen to classical bc of my husband who introduce me but its alright, the book brought me here and i love this would not listen to it if i didnt like it bc of a book. This is beautiful
i love that you made this for your AP music theory class. As I am listening im writing major and minor scales out for my High school AP music theory class :D
The "sublime" was referring to the actual music itself. The message is pretty straightforward as can be seen in the text. "Hope in another never I had..." I hope that clears things up from me and the gerbils.
Hey . Who's arguing about the graphics? They're great. You got the best of the UK. Great music too. I have this Tallis Scholars version of Spem in Allium by Thomas Tallis on a CD
@numbers3934 Like I said, I don't mind. It was small extra credit thing for Music Theory that I threw together my freshman year like.. the night before. Either way, its a slideshow about where I've been with one of my favourite choral pieces. Wasn't for you, but thanks for using your "freedom of speech". Well done.
BEAUTIFUL SONG...WHO CARES IF PEOPLE ARE LISTENING TO IT FROM A BOOK MENTION. EVERYONES LOVES IT NO MATTER HOW THEY CAME TO DISCOVER IT AND THAT'S ALL THAT MATTERS
I'm sorry when I made this it was on my old computer =P Plus, even with the "tacky powerpoint graphics" I still like it...its not about the video its about the music. =P
Because it is a sublime piece of music that will endure for centuries to come, while Mr. Grey and Anastasia continue their sexy exploits rotting in the ground. Not all books are created equally. For example, 50 Shades of Grey.
But do you know what that sublime message is? Here's a hint, it's referring to you people who are looking down to others, feeling all pious and grand...yes you may be listening to it...but do you really hear the verse...sad. btw enjoy the "Gerbils"
Looking at the comments I'm gonna assume this was mentioned in Fifty Shades of Grey. You have no idea how depressing that is. Tell me they didn't ruin the song that much.
Oh come on, this piece has never been off the charts just because you hadn't heard of it. And I've read 50 shades etc and enjoyed it, but it's not like Spem in Alium was reinvented there. It's been around for hundreds of years and famous throughout the centuries. Bach knew it and so did Mozart. It's just bloody difficult to sing, that's why you don't hear it much.

This is the most beautifully piece of music I have ever listened to
Habe noch nie in meinem Leben bis jetzt, etwas so göttlich ergreifendes in der musikalischen Darstellung erlebt.... Danke
Stunning. Thank you. I'm a south Londoner and proud of it. But I forget how beautiful the rest of the country really is. Thanks for reminding me,.
We recently performed this, Striggio and Gabriel Jackson (both 40 parts) surrounding the audience. It was a magical experience for both singers and audience especially with 1 per part!
The only good thing about 50 shades is it has allowed more people to listen to this wonderful music, I am here because I love the music of Tallis.
Muy interesante la música y las fotos son preciosas. Gracias por la subida.
Un régal pour les oreilles ce choeur à 40 voix ! Merci du partage.
Beautiful scenery. Thanks
Just beautifull... I could hear it again and again...

AWESOME!! Your slide show complements the Scholars' version of this masterpiece exceptionally well. Bravo!!!
OMG the SOPRANOS!!!!! Heaven!
Its a life goal for me as well... about to come true. Toronto Chamber choir May 4th 2013!!!
Wow!!! shivers.......
+CaroMarie Many thanks for such an interesting set of British images which take me back to my treks across the UK more than 30 years ago.
I can't imagine getting a choir to learn it together. The parts are in like 6 poster-sized books, the way I saw it.
What's all the hubbub, Bub? It's a great piece of music written by a great composer and the added slide show only enhances the total experience. Enjoy!
Beautifully.
i listen to classical bc of my husband who introduce me but its alright, the book brought me here and i love this would not listen to it if i didnt like it bc of a book. This is beautiful
I'm proud I found this on my own, and not from a book. le sigh, soo much for using this music in any of my movies now :/
i love that you made this for your AP music theory class. As I am listening im writing major and minor scales out for my High school AP music theory class :D
I'm here because I adore great music...
dont ya just wish theyd make a separate play list!?!?!?!??! The Bach Marcello in D is to die for.
The "sublime" was referring to the actual music itself. The message is pretty straightforward as can be seen in the text. "Hope in another never I had..." I hope that clears things up from me and the gerbils.
This is actually extraordinary.
Hey . Who's arguing about the graphics? They're great. You got the best of the UK. Great music too. I have this Tallis Scholars version of Spem in Allium by Thomas Tallis on a CD
If only Mr Grey were real....I'd be in the queue for the game to this peice of music!
Have you heard of Rias Kammerchor? I like the Monteverdi choir, the Ateneo Chamber Singers too. And yes Novo Concertante.
LOVELY!
my holy god this is beautiful.
The sassy description made my day
Splendid.
thank you a lot for this hymn of the force and the beauty of life and nature!
could you tell me who is singing, please? thanks a lot!
Lovely
LOL that's why I'm here too! because I read it in the book.
I still remember that time I could listen to "Spem in alium" on UA-cam without readingt comments like "50 Shades brought me here"...
@numbers3934 Like I said, I don't mind. It was small extra credit thing for Music Theory that I threw together my freshman year like.. the night before. great music, but what is the place in the photo with the castle at 9:16? Thank you in advance
BEAUTIFUL SONG...WHO CARES IF PEOPLE ARE LISTENING TO IT FROM A BOOK MENTION. EVERYONES LOVES IT NO MATTER HOW THEY CAME TO DISCOVER IT AND THAT'S ALL THAT MATTERS
This song is a masterpiece of Renaissance and people listen to it because they read about it in some sub-porno. I am disgusted.
Hogatka but they got there. Yay!
it ended too soooon :L beautiful.
I’m here because I recently learned that Terry Pratchett wants to listen to this piece in his final hour.
I'm sorry when I made this it was on my old computer =P
Plus,
even with the "tacky powerpoint graphics" I still like it...its not about the video its about the music. =P
Von welchem Ensemble ist diese traumhafte Aufnahme ? Bitte dringend um Antwort.....
I just finished the romanian version, after I read the english one..no words...
I am here because I like polyphonic chant. Who is Mr. Gray? :)

INDELIBLE
post cotis interuptis............ exhilarating
this is my 50
The irony of this song being used in 50 Shades. This song was written in Latin, taken directly from the Bible. I find that tremendously ironic.
I'm here because of Thomas Tallis
I think I'll die.
No noe cares what brought you here. Just enjoy the beautiful music!
Thumbs up if you were here listening to Thomas Tallis years before it was invaded by Fifty enthusiasts.
I am to......
Looking at the comments I'm gonna assume this was mentioned in Fifty Shades of Grey.
You have no idea how depressing that is. Tell me they didn't ruin the song that much.
