I am a diehard Alabama fan who watches every game from an X and O standpoint. I love this podcast and how Matt breaks everything down. This is why I normally lose my voice by half time because I coach more than Saban during a game shouting at the TV.

After watching Milroe he has all the makings of an elite QB and with experience will be Heisman worthy. He's athletic, big, fast, can throw the ball deep, mostly accurate. If he can improve accuracy and reads, eliminate his indecision and he will be unstoppable. He needs to open his mind and let the coaching happen.
It’s not going to happen anytime soon. If he ever does flip the switch it’ll be after he’s long gone from bama

Good work. A lot of Milroe issues stem from inexperience. Lot of teachable moments here but he's showing growth! Hopefully he continues to mature as a qb.
He's had years sitting behind the best to ever do it and has had chronic issues with the same things so its obvious he's not very receptive to coaching

@@Spittin_Bars sitting behind someone and playing are two totally different things. He also hasn't had a real qb coach on staff. Saban needs to rectify that. Idk why he always relegates the oc to qb duty. Bill had no interest in developing anyone. And I got that from an actual parent who's son is still on the team. That's why he treated Bryce like an nfl qb. Luckily for us Bryce is a generational talent. But to actually type what you did, there's clearly a lack of knowledge on the intricacies of the sport. I bid you a good day lol
@Ihate_bills As good as Bryce Young was, he never won a National Title as a starter. You can blame Bama coaching for not letting Jalen Milroe run the entire offense in mob up duty besides handing off the ball. With that said, Milroe gives Bama the best chance to win. Even Nick Saban knows that.

Great analysis, really interesting stuff! This also really emphasizes how horrible camera angles are in college football broadcasts where we don’t get to see anything that’s happening down the field… when I’m watching on TV and Milroe launches a deep ball I just have to pray there’s somebody on the other end 😂
That big play by Ole miss was a coverage bust by Alabama. They showed the replay during the game and it was straight man to man across the board but the corner passed him off when he wasnt supposed to.

That #4 true fresh for ole miss gave us problems. As well as #13. Thats what bothers me. A&M has a couple dudes, LSU perkins mingo gave us trouble lsst year, tenn has a couple. Weve had problems stopping good edge rushers and you know theyre all gonna try to tee off on proctor

The defense played good , and they are going to need to continue to play good, because the offense didn’t get going till the 2nd half , two stalled drives that led to Feild Goals plus a Interception that Milroe thew in the End Zone, 3 points at halftime in the south Florida game , 6 points at the half of the Ole Miss game,, Geeeez, They Have Got To Start Scoring More Point,s In The First Half, If They Dont They Are Going To Find Their Selves Down By More Point,s Than They can Come Back From One Day!!!!

Saban cannot because his Center, #56, is horrible; too many bad snaps are killing Bama drives.

7:51 CBS didn't give us the all22 view, but was that a 72 concept into zone on that side of the field? Kurt Warner always says 72 is a man-beater, and QB should know not to go to that side on zone coverage.

He didn’t. Alabama was just that bad
I’m not a Qb or anything but it seems like milroe is constantly confused. And he doesn’t run with intent. If he ran like his life depended on it he would be a lot more successful. And he’s also missing guys that are wide open for TD’s. I mean Burton was open for TDs all the time. He gets the ball and doesn’t drop back like Mac would or Bryce. It’s like he’s playing the way he wants to instead of the way he’s being coached. If he kept his eyes up field he would’ve been able to hit burton or the other guys for TDs because they end up wide open.
Unless they can train up another guy, Milroe even with his flaws is our best guy
Oh I agree. I didn’t think it was all his fault. The Oline is letting him get hit and lose focus down field because he’s having to run to get away from the line men. But I think he’ll eventually progress and do better. As long as he keeps the good attitude he has.
Milroe hasn't been able to read the defense ever, even after sitting behind some of the best college QB's ever and over 12 months of full time teaching and coaching. He stares dudes down and even with a dude totally open under he throws it over right to the other team.
He's getting better. Just needs more game reps.
