There is no Robin Williams story that's not wholesome. That man was a 11/10
Bahahaha!!!
So not true. Dude was an animal with the drink and the coke. Defo not wholesome. But always always brilliant x
There is no story or conversation that Robin Williams can’t divert in a hilarious way.
@@fightingthebelljar6776
Still lovable regardless. You can get drunk and high and still be a wholesome dude.
@@roems6396 loveable absolutely. wholesome no. the definition of wholesome is;
"conducive to or characterized by moral well-being.
"good wholesome fun"
or
conducive to or suggestive of good health and physical well-being."
Not wholesome. Bad for children & families, and oh so tiresome or worse for sober adults. Denial is a tale you sell to yourself and others like you, but responsible others are not buying. 💔🎗🙏🕊🤘
That's a really sweet memory. Robin Williams was a class act.
He always looked sad to me. 🥺
@@molly5292 I was living in Boulder Colorado
in 1978 when " Mork And Mindy" came
on TV. I was eating at the New York Deli
on the Boulder Mall all the time. ! The
Deli was always featured on the show,
and I thought Boulder was a " real place"
but it turned out to be another Western
College town. Illusions are easy to believe., especially Hollywood illusions.
He did have that sadness hidden
somewhere inside. I do also.
I am so happy that I got to witness Robins Talent throughout my generation.😢😢😢
Oprah 😮😮😮
When you have Robin Williams as your personal shield against Oprah... Nathan is blessed ❤❤ to have known him so well
Oprah was an AGGRESSOR. !!
@@michaelcelani8325 Oh yes she was. She knows what kind of discomfort she can cause and seems to revel in it. She and Ellen do that all the time. It's a lousy thing to do.
@@maureenobrien9815 It's why I refused to watch either of them.
@@elizabethbottroff1218 I don't either. Stopped a long time ago when both were still popular.
@@elizabethbottroff1218 -- It's why I refuse to be on either of their shows.
Robin Williams was a gentle soul. Miss that man so much.
Me too. Still makes me sad.
i fell like Nathan was holding back a lot tears while telling the story
you can kinda sort of hear it
He still is guys! You got a surprise. Coming!
Same. He was gone too soon.
Nathan and Robin were magnificent in Birdcage!
They were magic together 😁. Nathan stole every scene in Frankie and Johnny that he was in- genius
Whenever I need a pick me up, I turn this movie on.
Hank Azaria killed it too!
@@thedon8337 Hank Azaria is so under rated and most people don't realize he voices like 1/3 of the Simpsons!!
@Ruby Redd - The cast was great. I originally saw the film in a theater - I think that seeing Gene Hackman in drag was worth the price of the ticket!
Love Nathan Lane. despite all Robin Williams troubles he possessed deep, compassion for others, and it showed in his work.
I wonder if that might have been part of the problem….he was so very compassionate! Sometimes maybe it’s difficult to be that sensitive, not that it’s negative or he’s TOO compassionate, but I wonder if it hurts sometimes.
When he died I thought of those lines in Don McLean’s song, “Vincent :”
‘And when no hope was left in sight
On that starry, starry night
You took your life, as lovers often do
But I could've told you, Vincent
This world was never meant for
One as beautiful as you.’
@@entitlementkid 😢😢😢😢😢❤❤❤❤❤
Nathan was the perfect actor for his character. Robin was a true friend. We all miss him.
Both are legends and wonderful people.
Robin, what a mensch! Their interaction makes The Birdcage the wonderful treat it is.
….and a treat it was that!👌🏼
I appreciate the sentiment of wanting to absolve Oprah of responsibility, but she definitely has a lot to apologize for. Coming out should NEVER BE FORCED.
Yes! Was looking for a comment like this, cuz to me it sounds like she WAS trying to put him, Nathan was just being kind
It's obvious Oprah was manipulative and hoping to corner him and go on record as being the person who got him to come out on her show. Can't stand her.
I remember that interview. She knew what she was doing.
Oprah cares about Oprah. Full stop.
Totally agree. Not cool. 😡
Another reason to love Robin Williams more. Nanoo nanoo 🙏❤️
Shozbot❤
I miss Robin Williams so much. His personality was larger than life and his movies were all so diverse. Comedy. Drama. Action. He could do anything.
Robin Williams is a man above men. He was a great man to all who interacted with him.
The more we hear about him, the more he is missed.😢
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Who besides Oprah would want to be mean to Nathan He is such a sweet beautiful person... Thank you Nathan for giving us another beautiful Robin Williams story... Robin Williams was a beautiful soul...
Right now in America we have too many hateful people that are against anyone that's different from them.
No. I don’t think Oprah wasn’t trying to be mean….
Think about it- mean is not a character she's known for. Even Nathan says he didn't think she was trying to out him.
@@InHisService772 she is always mean. Not only for Nathan
@@tjplaine I've been thinking about this for a bit, and yeah I've landed on the side of 'it was intentional', because Oprah was just a few seasons off from being one of those dime-a-dozen, salacious daytime talk shows. But even though she did a master class in how to separate yourself from the pack, it was still a product of it's time, when it was still dangerous for your career to come out. It lost Ellen a TV show. Nathan found his brave eventually .. on his own time. She shouldn't have tried to include herself in that decision.
Robin Williams was such a beauty
I absolutely love Nathan Lane 🤗
I was thinking the same thing while watching this.
Nathan is a great artist. I don't care about what team he vats for.
of course Robin would step up and be that kind of friend. What a lovely caring man, missed by so very many 🌟
Such a loss with Robin leaving us
The worst...😢
I wish we could swap him back in for Oprah
Just one more reason to love Robin Williams. 💜
As if I needed another reason to LOVE the late, great Robin Williams!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤
The bird cage was truly an amazing piece of work.
There are parts that fall short for me but omg...
All the leads were marvelous. I watch my favorite parts for guaranteed uplift when need some genuine humor.
Robin, Hank & Nathan - legends
Yup in my top 20 list !
@Frank Waldeck - It is one film that I can watch over and over again without getting tired of it.
Imagine MAGAs will target this movie
Imagine the joy this movie has brought to so many....
Imagine being denied that joy
Love you Nathan! Thank you for sharing this story.
Of course he did 🖤 he was such a sweet soul.
Robin Williams was an angel. I can't imagine how hard things were for him. Now he's at peace...
@@AnaisWolf correct me if I’m wrong, but hadn’t he also had open heart surgery at some point towards the end of his years?
I only remember this because after he’d died, a friend of mine was discussing that fact, and that for a LOT of people (but men in particular) having open heart surgery sends them into an extremely bad depression. Has something to do with the vulnerability of someone literally having your heart in their hands, I suppose.
Either way, Robin was a bright flame in a dark storm. The world was a better place with him in it.
jonathon winters had passed away just the year before, I think RW felt really alone, when you lose a friend it takes a lot of joy out of life
That "I'm not ready" was so Timon! 😂
Man as soon as I heard him talk I said he sounds like Timon! lol then I went to trusty Google ❤
I always forget he was Timon!!😅
May Robin’s Memory Be a Blessing ❤️
Love Nathan Lane. And miss Robin so much
❤❤❤
Saw Nathan Lane on Broadway about a month ago in Pictures from Home. He was fabulous!
Robin had Oprah's number. Of course she was trying to out him.
Robin was and will forever be one of the greats that many of us miss. And I had the pleasure of meeting Nathan Lane and he was the sweetest and most wonderful man, I'm so glad that Robin had his back❤
I used to be a huge fan of Oprah. Not so much anymore. Robin on the other hand - a gentle soul gone too soon. 😢
We can all agree that Robin Williams was, and will always be a beautiful reminder of what people could do with good, rather than evil. Love Nathan Lane.
Oprah who? Hasn't she already been canceled? She is somewhere on a tropical island eating Dove bars and counting her millions.
You both have been watched multiple times with that wonderful video by myself and my husband! We love it and repeat many lines of it in our daily lives. Thank you for doing it and so many other great things. Miss Robin very much I’m glad he was there for you.❤❤❤love you Nathan Lane!!!
Love you Nathan!! So glad you had Robin by your side!! Nobody’s business but your’s but I can safely say most of us adore you!!
No, All of us adore him
Mr. Robin Williams was one of a kind person, I loved him since the 70s when he was on "Mork and Mindy". A wonderful, amazingly talented and beautiful man.
I miss him, may he Rest in Peace ...😔💔
I love Nathan Lane
A true friend, and of course she was trying to out you!
The birdcage is one of my favorite movies! Brilliant and will cause your sides to ache from laughter
Yeah....that is exactly what Oprah was going for
Yep, thats exactly what she was doing. She doesnt care about people, she cares about Ohpra,$$$
Exactly. There is no way she wasn't trying to out him.
I have no doubts she was indeed trying to out him . She’s not who people think she is at all
Sorry folks, Oprah was a bully.
Don't apologise. You're right and most of us know it. Especially after seeing her attempt to destroy the Royal Family for ratings.
*is
She's a businesswoman, no different than anybody else, out to make money.
And a narcissist
She was mean..a lot of people just pretended to like her...
Robin was such a class act he also took care of Christopher Reeve and his family.
Bless him...he really had his back
Some people live in our hearts rent free forever. Robin's death hit us all and hit us deep. Such a fearless man! So much strength, vulnerability and drive to make everyone smile. We miss you Robin! Nathan is gold too!!
I love Nathan Lane! Love your acting. Bird Cage is so funny and you and Robin were perfect for the roles you played. Just such enjoyable movie. I can watch it over and over. Hope you have more movies to come❤️
Robin Williams sounds like such a nice man...and Nathan is lovely too
God, I miss him😭
Very caring man Robin was❤
Robin Williams was so awesome in ALL the little things.
As well as being a top notch actor and human being.
Those two men could have made a lot of movies together as a comedy team. They were so perfect working together!
And Nathan........sir.........we have ALWAYS known.........it was no secret.
What a generous, sweet and human thing to do. Just kind. And gracious.
Love Nathan Lane, he's too funny on The Birdcage , Robin Williams had always been a super hero comic of mine lol 👍.❤😊🙏✝️✌️😎
I miss Robin Williams he was like a tv dad. I love his movies. I thought they were endearing ❤.
Robin, kind and a class act, unlike Oprah who profits from scandal. Why hasn't she been outed? What's good for the goose... Robin Williams is so missed.
You’re stupid
She has been outed, everyone knows what a monster she is these days
Prob bc no one cares.
That was a f'n a$$h0le move on Oprah's part! How dare she out Nathan Lane. God bless Robin Williams for being such a beautiful human being. 🙏💙💙
@@sidewalk_bride_6395 how dare she out anyone! Or bully anyone ! Just because your Oprah doesn’t mean u can do things like that to people ! She wasn’t and isn’t as nicey nice as everyone thinks !
I’ll probably watch a birdcage once a month I find that movie to be very therapeutic …it soothes me
Me too !!! Love that movie, love Nathan and will always love Robin ❤️ !
I adore this movie as well. When my nephew was little, he used to walk around saying, “fossy, fossy, fossy!” 😂
Robin Williams was always protective of people. He protected Nathan, and he protected the kids he worked with in different movies. I still miss him.
Iconic movie…The Birdcage!!!
Wonderful story Thank you for sharing .
He's so brilliant,
Shear honesty❤️❤️
I’ve said it a hundred times.
If Robin or Nathan or both weren’t in The Birdcage the chemistry would’ve been thrown off.
Such a wonderful man for protecting his friend. Everyone should have a loyal friend like him. ❤
I love you Nathan Lane. The birdcage was a triumph. You need a part two.
That was a great movie and u were great. Still not over Robin being gone. Best scene. Never realized John Wayne walked like that
Lol
Oh Nathan! We all knew you were! But I’m glad Mr Williams was there for you!
Of course Oprah was trying to out you. Robin Williams was an incredible guy. RIP.
Robin Williams was a wonderful, caring, good soul. I'm so sorry that he had such demons lurking inside him. I miss him.
He was great in the film
Another example of the brilliant human that Robin was and the insidious world of chat shows!
Nathan Lane was laughing because he didn't want to cry. You can tell it meant a lot to him.
Hug your loved ones!!!
Robin Williams was a national treasure and I still can’t believe that someone who brought so much joy to billions ended his life because of feeling alone 😭
No, the reason he ended his life was because of scary symptoms & increasing loss of control of his body & mind due to an undiagnosed, deadly neurodegenerative disorder, known as "Lewy body dementia". It was diagnosed after his death.
Leave it to the sweetest man Robin Williams to save another. I've heard so many stars that he helped. I miss his face, his voice and how hilarious he was; n everything he did. The last scene with him in night at the museum when he goes back to not talking and freezes up again just broke my heart. Love him. My fav will always be Mrs doubtfire but earlier was mork and Mindy but loved The Birdcage was so funny
Oprah knew. This is the woman that gave us Dr Oz, Dr Phil, and any other number of crackpots
Nathan is a national treasure. ❤❤❤❤
One of the best movies I've ever seen!!
Huge loss for the world without question.. rest in peace Robin
Robin Williams was and forever will be a legend, a gem & a good human
Of course Oprah was trying to out you. She's a heartless, evil woman who gets off on stuff like that. I'm glad Robin was there to shut her down though.
Bird cage;: just so funny;:;duo:; classic
I freaking miss Robin so much. We really lost a beautiful human when he left us. I don't think he knew just how much we love and needed him. 💜
Bless you Robin xxxx
Mr Lane, you are a wonder to behold.
So extremely talented and gifted. You can do almost anything. Singing, dancing, acting, more than a triple threat, always.
You seem a very kind human.
I can only wish you so much health.
Everything you’ve done is an inspiration. Thanks so much. You’ve inspired me and so, so many others x
Absolutely love Nathan Lane and Robin Williams both! And that was such a great movie!
That’s such a lovely memory. I hope his friends and family are coping well.
❤ Nathan Lanes presence in this world makes me happy.
First, the birdcage is a brilliant film, it is everything, and secondly, he is talking about 1996, not 1950, we have come very far as a society and we must stop and appreciate how free our society is now. We are not a bigoted society, we are a society that ends bigotry, be very proud.
Also, Nathan Lane is hilarious 😂
Sounds like something Robin would do. Great in so many ways.
I remember when he came out and my only thought was yeah I thought we've known that for twenty years.
Robin Williams was too pure for this world.
Winfrey should mind her own business.
She's sooo rude.
Robin Williams - a class act as always, may he rest in peace
That’s amazing to hear but honestly, I’m not surprised because Robin Williams was such a kind hearted soul. May he rest in peace but will forever be in our hearts ❤️.
Robin Williams was a class act and the definition of a true ally he doesn't need to do all the self righteous virtue signaling, he was just an ally through and through and I really miss him so much, he was such a wonderful spirit ❤❤❤
A true friend to have his back. I love that beautiful movie about a couple dealing with their child getting married. I always smile when I watch it.
Nathan did a scene in Bird Cage that had me laughing at the start and crying by the end. It was a short scene, but it made me realize how painful it must be for a person to have to keep a secret and fear at every moment that it will be discovered. I think his pink socks scene is one of the most moving I have ever seen in a film. Great respect for this talented actor. ❤
There will never be anyone who can touch the talent and class of Robin Williams. He could pull such brilliant jokes, that would have you on the floor laughing, right out of nowhere. Although some of his humor could be a bit racy, did not have to rely on or resort to being vulgar to entertain. I have so much respect for Robin Williams.
I prompt you to see the original version of "il vizietto" with Renato (Ugo Tognazzi) and Albin (Michel Serrault) two amazing actors in a 1979(!) Italian movie. Love Robin 💖
Hmm . . . I thought the original was a French film: La Cage Aux Folles.
Thanks for clarifying:)
When he talks about Robin Williams, he says it with love & appreciation.
Nathan I'm happy for you. I'm happy you had this moment to appreciate Robin then, and happy you have the confidence and ability to be who you are now.
I love Robin Williams and I miss him. He was such a kind, loving person!
Brings joy to my heart to know Robin was a good friend..
I remember seeing this interview when I was younger and wondered why Robin Williams was just a whirlwind in that interview, but this makes soooo much more sense now. Amazing.
Robin Williams was one of those actors who touched your soul. My first time watching him was 1978 Happy Days. Out of ALL the celebrities in my history HE is the one that I actually miss like a friend.
I love Nathan's glasses in this clip! The whole cast of The Birdcage was perfect! Gene Hackman, Robin, Nathan, Calista, Dianne Wiest, Christine Baranski, Dan Futterman, & OMG Hank Azaria!! So much fun. Still love watching this film.
Oh Spartacus!
