- In our hunt for a suitable sailboat, we also visited a Bavaria 44 Ocean Centre Cockpit.
Our goal is a sailboat for coast hopping, not longer voyages to make than 1 day (or maybe 1 extra night) and for comfortable cruising. Only i am missing a cutter stay and a wind vane at most of the sail boats.
The Bavaria has a very nice layout (inside and outside). Bed in aft cabin is on the short hand. What i like very much are the real windows (dodger) in front of the cockpit.
This sailboat has a lot of teak, what's very nice indeed. But on the other hand it costs a lot to maintain or replace.

Classic mahogany interior, blue cushions, 2 cabins and saloon and galley, 4 (+2) berths, headroom approx. 1,95 m., 2x toilet and 2x shower, Webasto hot air heating in all cabins, electric water pressure system, boiler hot water system (220V/engine), two burner stove and backing oven combination, half cardanic with remote control switch for gas (2008), 12V fridge, sun protection roller blinds, 4 reading lamps in saloon and owners cabin.
Interesting boat. The head area looked really easy to clean and I liked the self enclosed shower. If the teak deck is screwed down instead of just glued then I'd worry about deck leaks. Thanks for the tour!

That shower head grossed me out. I love the engine room access.
Thats more than enough boat for island hopping. The teak needs a thorough inspection and a lot of TLC though ($$$$$)
Does this boat have carpet on the floor or is that just a rug to protect the teak floors?
