Carnival Vista AFT Balcony | Bad Experience

Cruised on the Vista in January of ‘23. We were on the floor just beneath the Lido deck Aft of ship and directly in the middle. Sorry cannot remember deck number but much higher than deck 6.. Absolutely loved it. Have already booked another cruise on the Liberty with an Aft facing balcony. Once again up at the top. Sorry yours was so bad. A learning experience for me to book higher up
We've been on the Vista several times. We always book aft cabins, but usually on decks 8 and 9. Never had that problem.

Thanks for the information, we just booked in the Havana balcony area for May of next year and we considered those very cabins. We chose not to due the aft rooms just for pool access, but with your tip there is a lot better reason to stick with the room we got. Thanks Again!!!
We were in 6476 horizon 2 weeks ago….same here … and I had a direct view of the people in the jacuzzi….What a rookie mistake on my part as well as an expensive mistake very disappointed I’ll stick with my Havana cabana suites, was in one on the Mardi Gras … I was in paradise …loved the ship so much I booked it again😎
If you go on the Vista class ships and want an aft view balcony (they are amazing!) you gotta go up to 8 or 9. We booked on the Horizon deck 9 and there was no issues what so ever. Our friends were on deck 8 and also had no issues.
I’m curious if you said anything to anyone. That would be terrible if it got in your eye. Watching your video because it’s the most informative we are booked in the same cabin on Horizon. Thanks for the VERY informative videos. Better than most travel agents! ❤
Back in April of 2023 we were still in port on an aft balcony on the Spirit. We also had soot on our balcony (everywhere) but it was quite fine. We think it was coming from the MSC ship in front of us while in port. Once our room stewards cleaned it up, that was the last of it. Looks like the scrubbers on the funnel needed to be dealt with ?
Also, being a year ago that this happened, it might be due to the fact that the ships had been mothballed during COVID and they’re just getting “gunked” out. Thanks for the video though as this is something that needs to be addressed if it is still happening for your entire cruise. Take care and happy cruising!
Same experience on the Carnival Legend on a corner after suite. And they never bothered cleaning the balcony the entire 7 day cruise.
We sailed on the Vista this past November. Probably didn't notice this since we had an Havana Cabana cabin of the port side. We did go to the pool area often and again didn't notice it but then weren't looking for it either. Sorry for you bad experience. Of all the Carnival ships that we have sailed on we liked the Vista the best.

Sounds like a lack of maintenance on the funnel. I wonder if that is what caused the fire on the freedom?
Never had that issue on Legend. We had an Ocean View Suite aft starboard. We sat out there all the time. That balcony definitely on Legend had a nice size overhang. We would get that room on Legend again for sure. Nice to see your review on the ones on Vista. Thanks.
We had a corner starboard side aft suite on the Legend back in February that rained down soot all over and each day it got worse and nobody cleaned the soot or the salt from the glass the entire cruise. The engines did infamously blow out the very next sailing and they were a day late returning and had to disembark at Norfolk. So I guess my experience wasn't as bad as the next people that had that suite. It was also a wifi dead zone. Suite 7347.
That doesn’t sound pleasant for sure. We were in cabin 6329 and never had any issues. Guess we were maybe lucky. We were on late Nov early Dec 2022.
So did carnival do anything for you? I'd be complaining to the staff. Were going in 6 days staying same room.
I really hope you mentioned it to the Customer service. Or ask to speak to the hospitality officer , who in charge of the cabins. I would also talk to the home office. They can't fix it if they don't know about it. But I always get a window cabin. I can afford that. But so sorry you had to put up with that. I'm sailing on the Vista in February. I'm going to keep a look out for that on that deck 5 aft.

I’ve had many cruises with aft balcony’s. Every ship has soot that goes to these balcony’s it’s just sometime worse then others. Never have personally had much of an issue with it. Gonna be on the Dream in august with an aft view!
Sorry you had that problem, I've heard bad things about the vista before. I love sailing out of Galveston, we had an aft view cabin on the breeze and loved it. Did not have that problem,although I have heard of it.We enjoy your videos, deep up the good work.

@@anthonyclay6581 Hello Anthony, I believe that you need to get a cabin on 8 or 9 for aft view on most ships as they are generally higher and the spot blows over and lands on deck 6 and 7, the lower decks are farther away from the whales tail.

All ships have that. Diesel soot. They really can’t keep up with cleaning it. If you walk around on a large ship anywhere behind the smoke stack beware.
Had that happen to my wife and I on the Carnival Horizon in our cabin 6134 AFT. So much for not polluting the oceans, Right?

That is disappointing and disturbing to hear. My guess is that it was a build up of that stuff that caused the fire on the Freedom. I would definitely have mentioned it to guest services to ensure they know, a) of the inconvenience/disappointment it caused you, b) so they could make sure the engineering crew is aware in the event that it could be a warning sign to them of a potential problem with the engine/smoke stack. Lastly, it is possible that the amount of particulate being produced might be more than usual due to the recent propulsion issues the ship was having and it is still blowing crud out. I don't know, just my thoughts. Hopefully someone from Carnival will see this video and can respond as to what the issue is or will report it in a manor to someone that can address it. Hope your cruise was enjoyable other than that. We set sail on the Vista in October for our 25th wedding anniversary.

6466...only number worse is 6666...I would not have booked that room simply for the numbers..I am a number freak and I would never stay in a room with 3 6s...in any formation....hell I won't buy things from the store if the balance is 6.66 I make them add something else..I can only imagine your disappointment especially after paying all of that money to have smoke and tar blown up all over your balcony..that sucks friend..I would ask to be moved
