Thanks for sharing. My family will be traveling to Greece and Italy next year 2025 for the first time. This is great to know, would you be able to let me know would it be good to go around end of September to October? Between what months for fall season? Thanks
There are a lot of things to consider. First, September and October are two busiest months for Italy travel, so it will be very crowded and expensive in Italy. Second, September is a great time to travel to Greek islands, but in October things will start closing for the season. Same for the Amalfi Coast in Italy. If you want specific recommendations for your trip, you can schedule a trip consultation via this link: fabulousvita.com/trip-consultation/
Could you tell me what is September/October like for crowds and weather? Looking for a time to go to Athens and one of the Greek islands with our adult children, but we can definitely go off season.
You can go to Athens any time of the year. It's a bit of a different story with Greek Islands. As you can imagine, they are seasonal, meaning you can still visit them any time of the year but most places will be closed between mid-October and mid-May. September is a great month to travel as there will be less crowds, everything will still be open and water will still be nice and warm. Who wants to go when no one is there? Just got back from IOS and Santorini. Awesome, second visit! Easy to avoid the cruise crowds on Santorini and not an issue on IOS, people and food are awesome!
There are so many options! It depends on what you are looking for, but some of the most popular lunch places on the island are Spilia, Scorpios and Principote.
The traffic part is making me nervous 😅 I’m going to Santorini and Ios at the end of next month and I know it’ll be somewhat busy but now I’m wondering if it’ll be jam-packed!
Santorini is jam-packed the entire season as well. It's a very different vibe from Mykonos, but it's also one of the most popular islands in Greece. I would recommend making all the reservations for the restaurants, activities, etc in advance.
Is still Mykonos a paradise for young party guys or is something changing? Because I read few days ago that Greek islands are starting to be seen also like family tourism places.
New York Times wrote, “At least 10 foreign tourists have gone missing or been found dead this year in Greece after going for a hike, often in scorching temperatures.”

One of the few overcrowded, too many cruise ships, etc. that we still enjoyed.
Happy that you still had a great time!

What is a really nice place for lunch, we are a group of 8 arriving with a cruise ship and don't have all day on the Island..

I got my Irish passport card and was told i needed my passport book, at the Mykonos airport in case anyone was wondering.

Overall, this is true. But Mykonos still attracts large younger crowds ready to spend and party.
I guess that's what happens when the party crowd has babies 😅
💕
Thanks!
What month did you go?
@@lisac9519 This year I went in June
Shee shee shee
Birthday next year?!😉😜

Yes, I saw that. I've been warning about high temperatures in Greece, especially in July and August, for years now.
