Midra feared the power of the frenzied flame and his potential transformation into the Lord of Frenzied Flame. And so he endured an unspeakable amount of time in complete agony from his impalement all to avoid his transformation, until he could bear the pain no longer.
I love how much it fits the theme of frenzied flame as well. You can deny it (misery/frenzy) all you want, but everyone has a breaking point, and if you will reach it - it will consume you whole.
i suspected it was nanaya that brought he flame of frenzy into the manse and upon midra but i dont think so now knowing she begged him to endure the pain in order to not succumb to the flame and i really want to know now how the flame of frenzy got down to the woods and ravaged the entire area
@@anom2619but it can also imply that she wanted him to suffer more to increase the chances of him turning into a lord of frenzied flame, though it is just a speculation
yea either way midra i think is innocent and it was someone else that brought the flame of frenzy down into the woods and nanaya is definitely a top culprit
after doing a bit of digging i'm pretty certain its nanaya that brought the frenzy flame into the manse and the woods, you can find a womans corpse in the manse which is presumably nanaya, and right by it is the swollen grape item which is basically an eyeball with fingerprints on it as proof if being directly touched by the three fingers themselves, so nanaya somehow came into contact with the three fingers (unsure if it would've been in the lands between or if the three fingers can move around) and brought along the frenzyflame with her. as for midras suffering, it definitely is to prevent the frenzyflame from erupting into a lord as the thorned greatsword that impaled him is a weapon from the inquisitors which you can find all around the woods and in the manse, in catholic christianity an inquisitor was one that eliminated all traces of heresy or contrary teaching to catholic faith. the inquisitors were definitely against the frenzy flame and were trying to keep the frenzy flame at bay which is why midra is impaled and why they are scattered around the area
might just be what the other reply said, cool metal moment. or might be thematic, since he "endured" his suffering for so long, which is prolly why he wasn't worthy of being a lord of frenzy, but now he had enough and decided to embrace his pain and suffering in lunacy, and that grip was an added spit to that. could also be both idk
