I am surprised by this shoe and still working it out. First run was just a tempo run to see how they feel. They are firm but not not punishing. I was surprised how my stride just ticked over in them. 2nd run was sprint intervals. They were fine for the slow warm up/cool down but great for the sprints. I normally struggle in bouncier shoes when sprinting as a heavier guy (105kg) so wanted some shoes which i could feel the ground better. What surprised me most is i expected them to beat up my legs more and they didn't! in fact my troublesome heel was less bothered in these than some more cushioned foams. I am still yet to work out what these are best for but they are interesting and make me want to try different workouts in them.
They are definitely a faster shoe, and they take some miles to open up, but are still leaning on the firm side. I agree with your statements. It’s hard to pinpoint where this shoe excels at. It’s definitely not an easy shoe, that’s for certain, but it’s pretty good at everything else. Like you, my legs never feel beat up in them.
It’s got a little more snap and pop compared to the Endorphin Speed 1, but it’s also more stable. The difference for me was the Endorphin Speeds were great right out of the box, and lost its magic over the 100 miles I put in them, where the Magic Speed 2’s seem to be getting better with more mileage, which is consistent with FlyteFoam and FFBlast+. I haven’t had a chance to run in the Glideride 3, but I’m a sucker for the Glideride’s. I loved the 1’s. I just picked up the 2’s on discount in a better size than my original pair. I’ll wait to pick up the 3 on discount. It’s such a good shoe for long runs.
I have no wow factor from the DN 2..
It just feels too soft, like it’s bottoming, out…
Nice review

Would you compare it to a saucony endorphin speed 1 or 2?
Also have you tried the newest Glideride v3 and thoughts on it?
