Had to keep people supporting him somehow. If he didn't do nice stuff, the only thing he'd be known for was ordering his men to shoot up public spaces.
same reason why you can't find any of hitlers speaches on youtube. they don't want people listening to what they said, so they would follow the image they were portrayed as with the feds
Do you consider the ruthless, psychopathic mass murderer a great man because he used money he extorted to fund a soup kitchen for 2 years or despite of it?
He did this to win over the public. During the Prohibition and Wall Street Crash he was viewed as a hero for doing things like this with his money. Also you wrote soop in the title. It is soup* Good video anyway. I’m your 55th sub
The feeling in the country, at that time, was that the wealthy were the cause of the Great Depression. So, coming from poverty himself, I think there was a sense of doing the right thing for the victims of Wall Street greed. Yes, he was a criminal, but his compassion for the poor was well-known and appreciated.
Exactly! There's an old Superman comic I read where Superman (who is born in the USSR, long story) goes ballistic and takes over. He can hear everyone's voices, because of his super hearing. He figures he's succeeded in making everyone's life better, because he can't hear anyone complain - truth is, they are just too terrified of him to ever speak anything but praise.
Poor and can't afford food but still dressed well and polite. The good old days...
Shit it's new York, i bet if they didn't dress well they'd freeze to death

My great grandfather knew him pretty well rest their souls
How does this interview still exist yet none do with the man himself
All those tapes are sealed by the government as historic evidence

Why is there this UA-cam channel just dedicated to Al Capone?
