Well, yes & no. for one- ginatamit ito ng mga local guides na nakakasama ko sa ibang bundok. kaya nila, pero sa atin -will be dependt on your comfort and if sanay ka. If you're just starting I would recommend doing an easy hike first para ma-gamay ninyo if okay ba yung rubber boots sa inyo. If you're doing a major hike- I wouldn't recommend rubber boots.
