Well you all, my 3rd marriage has come to an end. At 65 years old, it’s quite a blow. I don’t know what I would do without Becky and this amazing community. I’m looking forward to starting a garden in the early spring. I’m so thankful for everything I’ve learned from Becky. Thank you so much Becky for providing this wonderful place for all of us to learn, grow and feel safe. Sending you lots of love from another Becky, in Texas.
Becky, are you human? 2 days before your party, you made the desserts and brined the turkey. The day of, you cooked. And the next day, you are still in the kitchen, to transform the leftovers. Wow! You have so much energy!!! I am green with envy. ❤
While my sister was going to her chemo treatments, I was telling her everything Becky was doing and she was getting exhausted just listening. Just incredible!
I just want you to know that you are the most energetic, self motivated person I have ever seen. On top of that, you are so sweet and kind. And you are such an inspiration! I also love the little smudge of flour on your face. It reminds us that you are human which is even more of an inspiration. I love you channel and look forward to each and every video. May God bless you and you family always.
At almost 75 i dont have enough brain cells left to do multiple tasks anymore. Sone time bacķ i could cook many things just not anymore. You do such amazing things. God bless you and your family.
Hi Becky! Thank you for being you - you have become a treasured friend and I look forward to all of your videos!! Happy Holidays to you and all of your loved ones!! 💖💖💖
I had finally went back watching your beginning and Loved it when your family was altogether and cooking together, that takes me back to when my family all got together like that, Loved it back then, after my Dad passed it completely fell apart sadly, so thank you for the time with your wonderful families and beautiful memories.
I have a couple of extra pie crusts in the oven when we finish eating Turkey dinners. I will take the leftovers and make a pie. Turkey on the bottom, veggies in the middle and the potatoes as the top. We can usually make two pies. One with the mashed potatoes and one with the sweet potatoes. If there is any left over stuffing... That can go on top. 🙂 Thanksgiving in a pie.
Thank you for all you do. My husband keeps asking me why I watch since I don’t cook (health issues) I say one day I might. I really enjoy the videos with you and your Mom. I often watch them over again, especially when I can’t sleep. Thanks again
I bought a big turkey just so I could make turkey pot pies, enchiladas, taquitos, Sichuan stir fry, a few other things for meal prep. Not to mention all the turkey stock and bone broth I got from it. I have so many meals from it. Love it.
You are doing what my grandma called “Mustgo Dinner”, meaning whatever bits and pieces she had in the freezer Must Go! We had mustgo soup, mustgo pie, etc.
It's fun to see you working really fast in the kitchen! I really love the slower pace of your newer videos, but it's always fun to see you really move quick!
Hi Becky. You're such an inspiration, we all learn so much from you, my grandmother would say you're never too old to learn something new, thanks to you and your husband Josh. And your sweet parents, for sharing apart of your lives with us. This platform of people is full of so much love, we all learn something every time on your channel, the comments section is filled with amazing people. God bless you all❤🙏👍
Becky challenge: Lard makes better tortillas than oil. The difference is most evident when reheated. Lard stays soft, oil becomes brittle. Tortillas are usually eaten warm/reheated over an open flame or on a comal /griddle.
I absolutely LOVE my Made In stainless steel cookware. Although it is very expensive, I know that I will never have to replace it, and I can pass it down to my grand children to use. I had no idea there was a griddle pan that they made. I guess I need to go shopping for one!
Whenever we have anything with friends or family I totally appreciate them when no one leaves without team work we clean the kitchen and clean all the dishes no one will leave until they helped without me even asking everyone understands how hard I worked and how tasty everything was thankful for friendship and happy to cook and everyone brings sides they share our Friendsgiving every year making sure no one wants anyone to be overwhelmed and it’s nice very mindful of our relationships.
Every year after Thanksgiving, I take the turkey leftovers and make several batches of Second Time Turkey Casserole for my dad, my kids, and my niece & nephew. My mom used to do this every year before she passed away. It gives me so much joy to continue this tradition in her honor. The casserole is delicious too!
Rhubarb Cake In a bowl mix and set aside : 1 1/2cup chopped rhubarb 1/2 cup sugar 1 tsp cinnamon Cake mix: 1/2 cup shortening 1 egg 1 cup sour milk 1 tsp vanilla 1 1/2 cup brown sugar 1 tsp soda 1/2 tsp salt 2 cups flour Mix wet with dry ingredients, batter is like pancake batter. Pour into square pan that is greased and floured Pour the rhubarb and sugar, cinnamon mix on top Oven temp 350°f 35-45 min Cook until knife in batter comes out clean Great with vanilla ice cream or whip cream topping
Hey Becky, love your channel. Every winter I dig a small trench in my raised beds to put my kitchen scraps in. Cover as you go and you have fabulous soil in the spring.
My favorite thing to make with Thanksgiving leftovers is Turkey pie. We often like it better than the big meal! The base of the pie is stuffing, pie filling is turkey, gravy and leftover veggies from casseroles or veggie tray, top with potatoes- sweet and/or regular and cheese. So delicious!!
I'm weird, so one year, I layered my leftovers in a bundt pan; dressing, turkey, veggies, mashed potatoes (gravy between layer, I think), partially froze it, then portioned it out into individual servings and enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner several times over the few months. Since I'm the only one who doesn't mind 'hot dishes' or casseroles...basically stuff mixed together, I was the person who benefited from that experiment. This was after the others had all the leftovers they wanted.
I am trying to get better at reinventing leftovers and this week is my best week. Last week I made a Mississippi pot roast with mash and this week I’m using the meat to make Birria quesadillas and the mash to make gnocchi for Olive Garden chicken gnocchi soup with focaccia muffins.
If you are making flour tortillas, buy some Barton Mills Sonora wheat berries and grind them. The Sonoran wheat variety is what they use on the. Tex Mex border. It makes a huge difference.
Thank you Becky for taking your time out to share how you read invent leftovers I have done the chicken pot pie the turkey pot pie the shepherd's pie I've done turkey and chicken spaghetti a turkey and a chicken gravy delicious just want to say thank you for taking your time out again
Hi from New Mexico! Home of those delicious Anaheim (Hatch) green chilies. Here enchiladas are made with corn tortillas, burritos are made with flour tortillas. Rolled or layered, they are delicious 🧡, I'm a fan of green sauce and always add some extra green chilies because, yum!
Hi Becky! Love the new apron. I would never know the dishwasher was on. I like the mic that you’ve been using. Looking forward to watching you and your Mom prepare for Thanksgiving. I’m going to try the potato bread. A couple of years ago I finally made bread! Because if you!! I never felt comfortable for some reason I doubted myself with it. Now I’m making pizza dough bagels and bread - rolls - sourdough. Making cinnamon rolls from scratch this year for Christmas. And I got a bag of the masa flour to make tortillas like you’ve done and have the press. Thanks for sharing your recipes and giving me confidence to try things in my kitchen! 😊
I cook Grandma's frozen noodles in my homemade chicken broth, once done add leftover turkey (or chicken) then eat this over leftover mashed potatoes, sometimes even add leftover gravy. Carb overload but SO worth it. I make this for my husband's hunting trip and the guys LOVE it!
Hey Becky, I love everything you did with your leftovers! I just wanted to leave a suggestion that I like to do. I usually freeze some of my chicken broth, so I can quickly add it to my cooking if I just need a 1/2 -1 cup. I purchased some of the silicone trays that are 1/2 cup size and I usually have at least a gallon zip lock bag in my freezer at all times. I use these when I open a jar of canned broth and have some left over I just fill the container and freeze the small amounts. I also use the smaller silicone 2 tbsp size trays for things like Chipotle in Adobo sauce. I never use a whole can, the smokey flavor is just too strong if I do, but I love having a tablespoon or so to toss in taco meat or taco soup etc. I do the same thing with my roasted Anaheim chilies, freeze them in small amounts and then I can toss them in everything. One last thing. If you mill a about 20-30 cups at a time, as much as you bake it will be fine in your drawer. I actually prefer using it the next day, so the warmth from milling does not affect my bread. Thank you to both you and Josh for all you do for all of us!!!
I always watch your video's with wonder about how much fun and "easy" cooking must be when you are not a difficult/picky eater. How you can just wing things etc because you like most food.
My favourite chicken soup is a mexican lime soup. You add shedded chicken back in to about 2 quarts of broth and sweat off 3 large onions sliced and 3 large tomatoes ( ie fry slowly until the onions are translucent but ot browned at all. You can add some strips of red peppers. Add them to the broth which I always make with a whole head of garlic sliced horizontally. Mix the onions & tomato into the broth and add the juice of 6 limes and chopped cilantro. It makes a soup that feels like it could cure you of any flu/cold.
Great work, Becky! Whenever anyone cooked potatoes, my mother would remind us to save the potato water to bake bread. It makes an amazing fluffy loaf. Just use the cooking water for the liquid in the recipe.
I got the idea from you freezing onions and garlic. I was not feeling well yesterday and didn't want to cook much and remembered I didn't need to chop onions yaaaa
My mom made Turkey hash after thanksgiving. she'd boil the carcus, add chopped onions to the broth, with peas and carrots. cook the vegies till done. then put in baking pan with homemade biscuits on top. bake till the biscuits are done. You make something similar. it was seasoned with salt, pepper, and garlic. A very simple meal.
Whirlwind of activity in your kitchen today! Hearing Josh come in commenting that the turkey/chicken/noodles smelled so good was fun 😊 The broth was beautiful and of course I wanted to eat everything you made 😂 That bread--I love the shape it was after you cut it ❤ I am so hungry right now 😁
Hey Becky! Absolutely ❤your channel. I've learned so much from you. I don't have a green thumb but I'm going to try my best and have a small garden next year. I want to get into canning too. Thanksgiving leftovers are my favorite.
I’m just getting your cooking Vlog right now I live in Ontario. I just wanted to say I watch you all the time. I love how energetic and clean you are because I have a hangup of my stainless steel appliances with no fingerprints on them.😅 but anyways, I wanted to say you are so good to great the cheese with the cheese grater I have a food processor and that’s my go to for greeting fresh cheese and putting it in the freezer and your garlic pucks. I get garlic and I put them in my food processor. I ground them all up and have them just like you you have taught me so much I’ve always cooked but there’s little things that you do that are amazing. Keep up the good work.❤
If I could just go around to all the best cooks homes in my neighborhood and eat their leftovers I'd be content. I love cooking and experimenting but it's not where most of my creative talents lie. Looks good, Becky!
Congrats on such a successful list of reinvention dishes - it all looked delish! (FYI - in tex mex world - enchiladas are made with corn tortillas and burritos and quesadillas are made with flour tortillas).
Becky, you talk about leftover mashed potatoes like that's a problem! ;) I usually make 5 or 10 pounds of mashed potatoes at a time....for just two of us. I simply freeze what we can't eat before it goes bad. LOL!
The day after the holidays we take left over turkey, vegies, stuffing, gravy, add some celery, extra onions, and carrots to make burritos that we put is a roasting pan, cover with salsa and cheese and bake. The turkey bones then goes into a pot for future broth. Left overs taken care of. In fact on occasion we have even roasted another small turkey for burritos
I make chicken tikka masala, using my turkey leftovers. I use garem masala spices, or paste, tomato purée ( paste), and cream. Serve with pilau rice and garlic naan bread ( or you can make them). When I make my shepherds pie, I always grate cheddar cheese over the top, or dare I say, crushed potato chips. Sometimes I make a Mexican shepherds pie, by adding taco seasoning and corn. Then still grate cheese over mash potatoes and crush Dorito corn chips. Very tasty.
Whoa I'm early! Hiii! I don't usually comment on new videos but I did find you just a few days ago whilst my Mum was watching you- Subscribed the day after that! My favorite video was definitely one where you made all that food for the family reunion campout.
Carmelized onions are fantastic! I make them in the slow cooker and add 1/4 cup of water. The broth ot makes is delicious! I freeze the broth, but I dehydrate the onions. I like having them shelf stable. Plus, if you haven't made onion powder from carmelized onions, it is absolutely fantastic!
I use the left over turkey and gravy heat together you can toast your bread place two pieces of your bread pour your hot turkey gravy over and black pepper on top love it here in Virginia . Always enjoy your videos.
One of my favorite things to do with leftovers, especially from celebration meals or restaurant delivery leftovers, is to make a few homemade “tv dinners” for later. Sometimes I really want thanksgiving classics, but I don’t want to cook a ham or turkey and all of the trimmings.
Potato cakes or what we called potato patties was my husband’s favorite thing to do with leftover mashed potatoes For my chicken salad I only put red grapes and pecans salt and pepper and Miracle Whip

I also love taking leftover turkey and make fried rice.
Hope y’all enjoyed the potato bread. My Mom makes cinnamon rolls with mashed potatoes. They are delicious!!!
Turkey dumplings is one of my husband’s favorites. I like to make cheesy dumplings when I make dumplings
I have celery, carrots & onions & apple filling in my freezer. If I can get rhubard this week I'm going to freeze thatt too😁
It's my Becky Time 🎉🎉❤❤
That all looks so scrumptious AHS was talking with my husband saying if only we had taste -a-youtube 😄😄 thank you so much for sharing enjoy your day

I always enjoy your videos Becky ❤️
Tarragon is really good in chicken salad also (sometimes with apple and cranberry) So yummy.
Potato cakes or what we called potato patties was my husband’s favorite thing to do with leftover mashed potatoes
For my chicken salad I only put red grapes and pecans salt and pepper and Miracle Whip
Never have I used the levels of seasoning you go girl.
You can get those casserole containers at QVC they are called Lock n Lock. Love them. They come in all sorts of shapes n sizes
Is freeze dried roasted garlic a thing? Coz it sounds like it would give a much nicer flavour rather than raw freeze dried garlic. Just wondering?
