    Hello, I’ve installed an ssd in my laptop. Cloned the entire default C drive into the ssd. When I open bios, I do see the ssd under system info. But when I go to “boot”, there’s no way to find the ssd. It shows the hdd and something like 1vp4 and 6. There’s no “priority” section also and I’m unable to put the boot drive I want at the top. Please help.

    Ok this is a good tutorial. But I found out that using a usb with windows downloaded will boot up the pc and let you decide what memory drive you want to boot with. That will solve the bios start up problem

    The problem I have is when I turn off or turn back on my computer it starts up and goes to the American megatrenda screen first , but other than that everything think works perfect I just want it to boot to windows automatically instead of going straight to bios every time

    OK,..my issue is this. MY PC has two hard drives on it. Both have their own Windows OS installed on them. It was simple to boot from either one. Upon start up,..I would simply hit F12 and then select either my personal drive or my work drive to boot into. Recently however, I my work installed the UEFI secure boot option to my BIOS.
    Now I no longer have the otpion to boot from my personal SSD. I know its there but it doesn't allow me the option to boot up from it. How do I add that drive back to the list of options to boot from???
    Is it a matter of me just turning off the PC,. physically pulling out my Personal drive from the bay and then simply re-inserting it into the bay? Or am I doomed to never be able to access the drive on this PC again??

    I did this but once it's boot a sort op command prompt screen shows up saying "reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device.

    hey what would would happen if one were to boot a drive that doesn't have windows/operating system on it? and after that what if tried to boot a drive that once had windows installed on it and was deleted but that drive still has the all the windows files in "File explore.

    • @GMODISM
      @GMODISM  2 роки тому +1

      Well without windows on it you can't boot from it, nothing to get beyond bios.
      Depending on how you delete it the answer it different, I got tutorials on how to remove everything from a drive so it cannot be recovered.

    I'm buying a new m.2 ssd and because the m.2 port with pcie 4.0 that i have in my motherboard is already being used i thought i had to transfer windows to the new one because if i connect the new one to the other m.2 port with pcie 3.0 i would lose performance from it but I just remembered this video and saved myself of wasting a couple of hours of my time lmao

    Hey Gmodism, I'm having a hard time knowing what to set my new SSD HD as the boot drive. I dont know what drive it is bc nothing shows up that resembles my new SSD to change it using f5-f6. they all say some version of USB. If I go into boot options (f9) I can manually start up my system on my new drive. If I dont do this though it loads to my old drive partitions. grr. maybe I need to manually boot then delete my old partition when I manually start on my new drive. this shit is always a battle for me haha

    • @GMODISM
      @GMODISM  4 роки тому

      Just set another drive than the current as boot, you’ll notice which the ssd is, if you set the current lowest in rank, the ssd must boot before.
