Thank you so much for your work. I have been a nurse for many years and have noticed cognitive decline in my husband. We are unable to see a neurologist until March 2023. Every day I pray for his safety and well-being.
Hi, @Valerie Bryant, you are very welcome. If you'd like to connect with one of our team members prior to the March visit, please reach out for a free 30-minute consult. (Consult@teepasnow.com) or you might want to check out one of our care partner support classes (teepasnow.com/services/consulting/care-partner-support-series/) for yourself. We also have some groups for your husband if he'd like to connect (teepasnow.com/resources/for-people-living-with-dementia/)
Omg. This is happening to my mother. This is her. I need to learn more. I am caring for her and it's soooooo hard
Hi, @Northern Lights! We are happy to help you. Please reach out to us for a free 30-minute consultation (consult@teepasnow.com) or in the meantime, visit this link from our website (teepasnow.com/search/?search=lewy%20body) to see a number of resources.
Hang in there! I took care of my mom up until the end, and being in my sixties with my glucose levels being out of control gave me a taste of what my mom was going through. My glucose levels are under much better control now, but I definitely remember what those moments were like. There is a lot of confusion, fear, shame, and even anger involved when your parent is having an episode. Exercising patience and understanding to the best of your ability is huge. Also, remember to do what you can to protect their dignity.
There were several times when I had to immediately jump in the shower after taking care of my mom, so I do understand it's tough at times. Praying for you both!
Thanks! Lewy is its own animal to maneuver!
Thank you so much ! This was exactly what we needed today ! Big help !
Hi, @Jk Germany, glad it helped! If you would like to know more about Lewy Body Dementia, please check out the videos in our store (www.teepasnow.com/shop) or you may want to listen to our podcast (teepasnow.com/services/talk-show/) where we've done a few episodes on it as well.
Thank you so much! You helped me navigate a situation just like that. I did it correctly by instinct but it's nice to see what I thought was right be the correct approach. I had to change what I was doing. Not just with the potty but with many things. It works.
Glad it helped, @doordiepoker2k7!
I love 💗 that u share
Teepa, you are amazing!!! I lern more from your videos than anywherd else. Absolutely brilliant. Thank you 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you so much @SilkeGross. We learn more from you than you know!
Thankyou for this video, Teepa. My mum was diagnosed with Alzheimer's during covid lockdown. The memory clinic sent a nurse to do the full memory test and three weeks later diagnosed AD in a 5 minute phonecall. Her right hand had a strong tremor and she would lean backwards as you show in this film. I was her carer and it was a struggle to dress her because of the leaning. I'm so glad I found this film as I believe she had LBD and parkinsons. She died almost 2 years ago.
Hi, @cilla268, I'm SO sorry for your loss, but I'm also glad that you were able to care for your mum and be there for her. Thanks for sharing.
I love my MC residents❤
As a MC professional, I’ve made my needs clear… I’d rather die than put my child through this!
I'm glad that you've meade your needs clear, @cdenisewilkerson!
Thank you for the information. MY husband is now in a wheelchair..He is now major cognitive decline..
Hi, @Kathe Beaver@ I'm sorry to hear of your husband's decline. Please know you need to talk with someone, reach out to our team at Positive Approach to Care, 1-877-877-1671 or consult@teepasnow.com
Very good but why do we have to learn this from you tube? The medical professionals have to do a better job even if it's to tell you about something like this on You tube . Come on Docs, you can do better. We wait months for an appointment and often get rushed and little info is given at appointment..
Agree! We do love providing the content, educating and supporting those with brain change and their loved ones.
I have recently been diagnosed with this
I'm terrified 😢
@evelynhilderbrandt9846, thank you for sharing with us and we are sorry to hear this. We would love to support you. We offer lots of free resources on line as well as a free 30 minute consult at teepasnow.com/services/consulting/phone-consultations/. We hope to hear from you. Take Care.
The root cause is always nutritional deficiencies and cellular toxicities. Also, Hippocrates said over 2000 years ago that disease begins in the gut.
Hello, @DOC SIBO, will nutritional deficiencies may play a part in many dementias, there still needs to be more research. There are so many factors that are involved since our brains are so complex. If you would like to discuss your opinions/ideas more, please reach out to our team at info@teepasnow.com or 1-877-877-1671.
@@teepasnowvideos actually I researched and developed a mind map on AD.
So for sure, dementia is indeed multifactorial, from methylation (the B vitamin cycle) to heavy metals, intestinal diseases, leaky blood brain barrier and so much more. One of the major nutrient deficiencies in cognitive impairment is B12. Most B12 deficiencies are not diagnosed due to the fact that they use serum B12 as apposed to a serum methylmalonic acid (MMA) test, or better yet, a urnine MMA test. We become B12 deficient much sooner than when the serum B12 blood test becomes low. The low end of the standard reference range for blood B12 is far too low.
We are made up of an average of 50 trillion cells and they all have their roles. When cells become toxic and deficient in nutrients (cell food), they can no longer play their important physiological and biochemical roles in the body. At that point, the weakest link in that specific host will determine the “dis ease” the individual is diagnosed with. We cannot separate the 10 systems in the body. They all work synergistically together.
@@teepasnowvideos very nice website!
Thanks, @srideout! Glad you like the site!
My Mom has Alzheimers dementia and with brushing her teeth we do it together. I ask her to do what I am doing. She thinks it fun. 😂
Great care partnering, @LisabethSpencer-Hall-sg6eb! Mirroring is a great technique! Thanks for sharing.
@@teepasnowvideos Thank you so much and thank you for replying! Your videos are so well put together and easy to understand. I need that so much!
