  • Michael McMillan's Where's My Ring, winner of Aqueduct's 1 1/8-mile Gazelle (G3) after finishing second in Santa Anita's Santa Ysabel (G3), had a little breeze through the stretch (official time 24 seconds) Sunday at Churchill Downs in advance of the Kentucky Oaks. Afterward we spoke with trainer Val Brinkerhoff, who is trying to relocate a string of horses to Kentucky. Val is based much of the year in Southern California, but spends the winter in St. George, Utah, at the Dixie Downs training center that he says is ideal for getting young horses ready for the races. Jose Lezcano, aboard for the Gazelle, has the Oaks mount on Where's My Ring.
