Had some luck finding some fine gold flakes sluicing south of Coyote flat before Cattle canyon here in Azusa. Go during the week cause parking is limited.. Watch for flash floods if it's raining (or if it ever rains again:) that can stir up huge nuggets of gold..also there is a lot of grafitti. Welcome to So. Cal!
I found gold ore at the cattle bridge and a nice nugget in this section years ago when I used to run my dredge there. Didn't know they banned them. Guess that's why there were no dredges there now 🙄
It interesting that I've been prospecting on the east fork for a couple years now and I've never seen this part of the river. Just drive on past it every time
Looks like a good fishing spot.
I'm not sure about nowadays, my dad and I used to walk the river fishing and do pretty good. I know up river there is better fishing, West fork also.

So much graffiti... Enjoyed the view! I bet you would have to dig down 10ft to hit nuggets there today.
Every rain, every season more gold gets churned up. Nuggets are far and few between, but I've always found some color whenever I did there.
I was there 7 times this summer and there were way too many people, most who just trashed the place.

Used to be full of dredges before the ban, used to be several "full timers" before the BS.
Better gold from Cattle canyon bridge to Heaton, and up.
So many gold stories are fake
You can go here and make your own stories, every time I sluice the EF I find something, never a lot, but at least color.
