Have one of these and it works great for my purposes. Today I installed a full chisel chain and this saw turned into a beast. Yes, I have used chainsaws for years with full chisel chains so it's not an issue here. This model has enough power to work quite well with the new chain and it cuts like crazy.
Excellent video. I learned all I need to know to get started with mine. Addressed everything anyone could want to know before getting started. After seeing the cuts you made with it, I am thilled to know that I did indeed make a good choice when I purchased mine, as it will be more than sufficient for any trees i want to remove on my proper or after the frequent storms when I need to clear tree limbs on my Louisiana property.
Neat, a saw that you don’t need to notch your tree, or wear eye protection, or any other safety equipment. Apparently the is so safe you hardly can imagine any chainsaw safety concerns.
Oh stfu with that BS it's his life.
Another life saved by a youtube comment
That's the best chain tensioner system I have ever used by far. No tools and super fast.
Great Video, but where's the safety gear?
i hope depot put them on sale for BLACK FRIDAY that's what i'm looking for a DEWLAT chainsaw. thanks for the video. have a nice holiday weekend . stay safe
You should consider utilizing some PPE when operating such equipment. Thank you for the review
I was just saying this out loud!
I spent a Christmas Eve in the emergency room from not wearing eye protection
Grow up guys, not everyone wears football pads to mow their yards.
What about the oiler? I bought a different model Dewalt electric chainsaw and in a few months the oiler no longer worked because it was very poorly designed! What good is a chainsaw without an oiler?
Eye Protection Bruh.
it's fine don't worry about it
I love Zelda and I love Dewalt power tools. If I was dewalt, I might sponsor this review, but they might be right about the eye protection. lol.
I bought this saw 2 months ago. I definitely like it. The only real flaw I found is the reverse thread bolt that holds the keyed washer onto the sprocket. This bolt comes loose during use and allows the chain to jam. Blue threadlock seems to have fixed the problem. I like that I don't need tools to do anything with it.
Wait until the Graphine Battery's come into use. A device that would take an 1 1/2 hour to charge will charge up in 30 minutes. They have more power and lighter weight.
I haven’t heard of them , sounds awesome
When is the Graphine Battery coming out ?
@@LunaWave01 Hopefully this year. I have seen some power packs that charge up cell phones that use graphine but not much else at the moment.
Perfect...thanks for the review. Gonna get me one...ain't at all complicated.
I dislike the oil view port location, I feel like if it pulled itself into a log, a small branch might stab right through
I have had this saw for about two years (Type 1), and find it very useful for bucking smaller trees. Lately, however, I have had a big problem with the chain brake. It no longer makes a clear “click” when pulled back. Instead, it feels mushy. And very often, it disengages the saw without anything touching it. Anyone had this issue? I ordered some parts and am going to try to disassemble it, but Dewalt tech support was absolutely no help.
Yes found that out...
When you call dewalt. Have the part numbers that you need handy. Or email them. Every time I describe a problem and say “I need these parts”, they just ship them out since it saves them so much timr
So it must come with a great vacuum system that sucks up all the dust and debris, making safety glasses unnecessary.
Dude where the F is your eye protection??
Karen sounds worried

Come on, bro. Psy is right. It’s not that big of a deal to put on a pair of leather gloves and safety glasses at least for the video, especially considering most people in the market for this saw aren’t professionals or probably even frequent users of chainsaws.
@@charliebravo3936 has nothing to do with how professional you think you are. Wear the damn glasses.
Eye protection is for children and men with wives who cheat on them
I like how he stresses the need for safety, while not wearing safety gear.
look at 2:29 there is a magic face in the tree
cutting rotten timber you should have used a butter knife.
What is the biggest battery it'll hold? I have the 60v was
Weed eater with the 9ah flex volt. Will that fit?
After months of use it is still a great saw?
The problem with that particular model is that the bar is held with a torque limiting ratchet that doesn't let you tighten it down very good at all. DeWalt did make a better model of that, though.
What is the better model?
@@calebbarton303 I don't remember at the top of my head. But the better model did away with that stupid torque limiter and allows you to put an allen wrench in the knob, just in case the flap were to break.
"working with a chainsaw, a dangerous tool"....tennis shoes, no eye protection, no chainsaw chaps (bet a chain on this can break or saw might have enough power to maybe kick back), no gloves, left the cut tree just hung up on the stump ....wow
Yup. Pretty much how we all do it. And we all know better.
You know what this means in Iowa?🤙
I got a new chainsaw for Christmas...not everyone is dumb enough to go without eye protection...
There’s always a critic. Good job man.
@@TheAyotteMan prob the type of dude that gets one tree on the ground while the other guy has to clear the entire property
And??
Man, electric is the way to go
That’s cap! Compare it to gas and let’s see which way you go
Thank you bro. Good job
How much wood will it cut on one battery charge?
Good video. You make me want one of these!!
Guns and chainsaws, two things you don't want to be swinging around even if they aren't loaded. Chain brake on when not cutting. Mag out when not shooting.
I feel like these electric saws are good for homeowners or regular folk that haven't had a saw before, that said it's easy for a regular person to treat it like a toy and not as a tool. Not criticizing the maker of this video, he's a grown man and doesn't need my advice but for everyone else's sake, learn how to cut before you buy a saw like this and just go out and start cutting. At least watch some tutorial videos first. Be safe friends!
Dope video, Powerful chainsaw.
I was looking to buy the 20v one but the 60v is way better , seems to cut through those trees like butter.
I didn't hear the motor bogg down at all
So you treat it like a chain saw without eye protection, or face shield, leg protection. Sorry just can’t see talking about protection when your not using it.
PPE?
LOOK MOM, NO PPE!!!! LOL
Cool LoZ shirt. :)
What size battery are you using? I'm using the 6.0aH and it seems to run out of juice fairly quickly.
Does the 12 Ah battery physically fit into the slot for this chainsaw?
thats my concern, run time. i was also curious...that wood looked fairly dry, how are these units with wet wood?
i have the smaller 12" 20v one and its gutless.
why?
Well duh…
A live oak tree would be more convincing than cutting through that rotting punk wood.
Video quality is good and informative, However you talk about safety at the end and you are cutting without any kind of PPI ??
And new PPE either.......
It’s a free country there Karen
Bahaahhah safety police lmao
Every single one of these Dewalt Chainsaw reviews skip RIGHT PAST the oil part. So....gotta slow down. Step ONE. Charge battery. STEP 2: How to put chain oil in, and what to use. Seems like a no brainer, but you have to assume that a "review" is EVERY STEP of the process, SETP. BY. STEP. ;)
That’s a tutorial not a review. Most reviews don’t even say anything about operation specifics. Just over views of the product, uses, quality etc.. plus he mentioned the oil 3 times. That’s all that’s needed. You need to add bar oil so your chain doesn’t rust, stays lubricated and cold. It’s that simple. There’s a cap on the side that has an oil can imprint on it. You open that, pour the oil in and it’s self lubricating.
Safety glasses?
Someone actually used it on a tree trunk. Thanks
Went to my Home Depot today in Shelby Twp. MI. They had the 'tool only', but no batteries. So, did not buy.
Is it made in China?
"In fact it is a chainsaw and it can be very dangerous..."
Says the guy who is using a chainsaw with literally zero safety gear 🤦♂
Safety is not this guys top priority like our Russian Hacker 😃
Not a stitch of PPE. Setting a bad example. Otherwise it was an excellent video.
Grow up
How long does the battery last?
Dccs670 model...I have had nothing but trouble....the reverse thread set up is a joke...expected better from dewalt..
How stupid is it that it doesn’t come with oil? Had to read all the way through the book to see the part about the oil. Opened it up and it’s dry. Now I have to make a 20 mile trip back into town.
Really? If you don't have any experience with saws, you may want to hire someone to do whatever work you are planning to do.
Look at UA-cam before you buy.
Did you just leave kindergarten? ..you don't even know that saws need oil !! ..why buy the Worlds most powerful electric chainsaw when you have zero experience ? ..get a small saw or hire a Man to do the work
When you buy it ask the salesmen what else you may need. Face shield ear protection gloves. Oh yea oil for the chain maybe buy 2-3 bottles.
Protective eyewear and gloves is a must for the chainsaw! I would NEVER do it your way!
That's because you're a pu$$y.
I have to agree that is problem with this saw. Oh wait, that has nothing to do with a review of the saw but thanks Kyle.
Great until you have to replace those expensive batteries that don't last longer than two years.
Tree falling job is the worst I’ve ever seen lol.
So dangerous you wore no safety gear smh
At least wear gloves and safety glasses
Gloves wouldn't do anything. Lol
Why didn't you Notch and then saw it off the stump? Wannabe!!
