I think the seal was tearing up because she always felt like an odd ball for having the rainbow spots and she never really felt like she fit in UNTIL she stumbled upon this rainbow seashell that was beautiful and unique like her!!!
I like to think that she was born with those freckles and she was treated different, but then she found that shell that was exactly like her "special" and it made her happy to know that there is things and possibly creatures like her.
next year you should use the "unique shell" to make a narwhale! it sticks to the ocean theme and can be a friend for Sealia! I love the designs you came up with!

But the first thing that came to mind when you said you were doing something ‘big’ I imagined you making a canvas out of seashells of all shapes and sizes and then painting on them-maybe your characters at the beach or something-and I just wanted to share my idea! A way to counter the refusal of metallic paints to be opaque until layered to near infinity: is to paint first with regular paint and then just top with the metallic or iridescent paint. Matte paint tend to be more opaque for some reason. It can even create a kinda cool effect if the two paint colors are different. Sometimes.

I have an idea for more seashells! Inspired by that weird cherry thing in the sketchbook... a fruit basket! You could use clay to make stuff like leaves for a strawberry or a stem for a cherry. Or other items around idk what you have lol. But a fruit basket of colourful seashells might be super cute! Bonus points if you do a separate video attempting basket weaving for said basket :p

I really like the idea of combining clay with shells and I love how these turned out! Lil advice for using clay; the reason why it took so long to dry was cus it was way too thick. A way to circumvent that is to make a base out of scrunched up aluminum foil and then wrapping the clay around it. That should make you have a much thinner layer of clay that won’t take forever to dry. Same can be done with oven baked clay to make sure it bakes evenly and quicker. It will can also help make your clay pieces lighter and help you use up less clay overall so those small pots will last you longer.
You should use one of the unicorn horn seashell to make a narwhal sculpture, by the way ur makeovers were great!😊

I really like the idea of combining clay with shells and I love how these turned out!
Lil advice for using clay; the reason why it took so long to dry was cus it was way too thick. A way to circumvent that is to make a base out of scrunched up aluminum foil and then wrapping the clay around it. That should make you have a much thinner layer of clay that won’t take forever to dry. Same can be done with oven baked clay to make sure it bakes evenly and quicker. It will can also help make your clay pieces lighter and help you use up less clay overall so those small pots will last you longer.
