Ashley Fortier I started back in mid April with absolutely no experience & am finally starting to feel very confident! It is very very difficult I agree but it definitely gets better. Everyone would tell me when I started that the more I chair side assist, the more I’ll learn which is hard to hear when you are a nervous wreck like me but it’s 100% true. Dental assisting I’ve learned is very repetitive! Hang in there because it gets so much better & you will do great.

Im a high school student trying to figure out what i should do, this is an amazing video great to know what im getting into ❤❤❤also youre beautiful and very good at teaching
Whoa! You do tooth numbers differently! We divide it into 4 quadrants and start counting from the mid-line, not from the wisdom tooth. So, looking into the patients’s mouth... •upper left: 11-18 •upper right 21-28 •bottom right 31-38 •bottom left 41-48
The way I learned it (currently in dental assistant school), I am actually doing the course in French in Canada, and the way they teach us is that when facing the patient, there are four quadrants top right: Q1 top left: Q2 Bottom right: Q3 and bottom left: Q4. The 3rd molar on Q1 starts at 18 until the first tooth (in French its incisive centrale) then on Q2 it starts at 28 to 21. Then on the bottom right 3rd molar so Q3 starts at 38 to 31 and Q4 it starts at 48 to 41. Sounds confusing but it’s interesting how terms change depending where you live.
We count the teeth completely different. We have mouth parted in to four quarts. With the front teeth starting as 1 towards the wisdom teeth that have always the number 8. So according to that for instance it's starts in the first quart with 11, 12, 13,14,15,16,17,18. With the first number resembling the part of the mouth your in. So first quart, and the second number for the tooth. For the baby teeth it's quart 5,6,7 and 8. For instance it would be 51,52,53,54,55. 61,62,63,64,65 and so on

Hi, Cheyenne. Thanks for the video. Can you share your experience with dental receptional duties, as well? Including arranging appointments, processing payments, general terminology. Thanks.
yanet I just finished a 7 month DA program and there was a lot of material to understand, I don’t think the 12 week program would prepare you for the field since it’s such a short amount of time. Also, most 12 week programs aren’t accredited so look into that as well. You will enjoy the field !🦷✨💉
I did a 6 month program and felt as though I didn’t really learn much. It was a lot of book work and barely any lab. Most people who did the few week program actually learned at a clinic. They seemed to know way more than I did because I feel that you won’t learn unless you’re actually in the hot seat. That was just my experience though
I did a 3 month program, 11 weeks total. I think that the more school u get, the more u have on ur resume. But always get some hours in a actual dental office as much as u can. But it is true, u dont get as much inside knowledge in a shorter program. Studying doesn't end for me xD
I did an 11 month dental assistant course at my local Technical school. At first my thought was what could they teach us about teeth in 11 months, seems like a long time for teeth. Boy was I in for it. Teeth are a part of it. It's all things that can be done to make teeth better for the patient. Take the time to get educated in the field. It's eye opening.

I'm so excited to start my journey next month!
Im a high school student trying to figure out what i should do, this is an amazing video great to know what im getting into ❤❤❤also youre beautiful and very good at teaching
Literally she save me I understood this better than my actual Class I took yesterday! Thank you sooooo muuuccch 😘
Whoa! You do tooth numbers differently! We divide it into 4 quadrants and start counting from the mid-line, not from the wisdom tooth. So, looking into the patients’s mouth...
•upper left: 11-18
•upper right 21-28
•bottom right 31-38
•bottom left 41-48
You have made this soooooo much easier for me to understand how you break this down. I’m in school now and will be graduating soon thanks so much.
Could you please please please do a few videos on procedure setups, charting, x-rays, etc
I'm thinking about going to dental assistant school. All the information and these tools are INTIMIDATING, but you did a great job explaining them.
Thank you so much! Today makes a week that I started but they said I was gonna be assisting for an extraction tomorrow! Wish me luck y'all! 😁
Great job miss, you help me study ,iam currently doing my 100hr internship and iam preparing to take the board radiology exam.
Great video. I am a dental assistent student from the netherlands. The video was very helpful
Loved you're video I'm a dental assitant but I've stopped working for a while and I'm glad you have videos to help me remember. 😊
Cd u pls tell me why u stop doing it? U dnt like it anymore or something else? Im thinking of studying this for my new journey of career ..

I’m starting classes in February of next year! I’ll definitely be watching all of your dental assisting videos!
Ashley Brooke I start in February too, good luck to the both of us! ☺️♥️
What's the point of going to school to assist? Wasting money
This was really helpful I’m for sure I’m gunna keep this video save I’m about to start dental assistant and I could use all tips I could use thank u
For instance it would be 51,52,53,54,55. 61,62,63,64,65 and so on

mesial is basically the corner of the tooth that is closes to the midline
distal is the corner of the tooth further away from the midline.
i’m going next year for dental assistant and i wanted to know how easy could be and the bright side of it
Thank you so much for doing this video.
Help me a lot for understand thus subject.
I'm In dental assisting school school and struggling. I'm starting to think I'm too stupid to do this it seems like everyone else gets it but me .
How are you now?
@@strawberrykisses3486 I still struggle at my job but luckily they are kind people who understand I'm learning
Hi, Cheyenne. Thanks for the video. Can you share your experience with dental receptional duties, as well? Including arranging appointments, processing payments, general terminology. Thanks.
feels good to be an RDA and have a job already thx lord
Thanks so much , I learnt alot & looking forward to watching more of your videos.
How do you feel about 12 week programs vs the 9 months plus programs?
yanet I just finished a 7 month DA program and there was a lot of material to understand, I don’t think the 12 week program would prepare you for the field since it’s such a short amount of time. Also, most 12 week programs aren’t accredited so look into that as well. You will enjoy the field !🦷✨💉
Kharisa Keonaa thank you so much for your feedback. Greatly appreciated, god bless and good luck on your new journey
It's eye opening.
great video! I'm at the end of my dental school and I need to learn the instruments do you have a video just talking about the instruments and how to Remember them :(
I love this!!! This gets me excited for my future.
Thank you so much! This REALLY helps me. I appreciate this more than you know know! 💗
