I was a NYC Bus Operator and Joyce Randolph would regularly ride my bus in the 90's.She had the same hair style as she did during the Honeymooners days and was easily recognizable to most fans of the show.A very classy lady.

In 2008-2009, I drove a bus in Midtown Manhattan when I had the pleasure & delight of having Joyce Randolph as a passenger after she left a play. I was thrilled beyond description just being able to speak to this wonderful lady. Although Ms. Randolph was on the bus for a short time, it is a memory that I will cherish for the rest of my life.....

I met Joyce Randolph around 1984 at a convention called RALPH (Royal Association for the Longevity and Preservation of the Honeymooners). I asked her what was her favorite episode: she immediately said: "Alice and the Blond" (Rita Witameyer). What a beautiful, classy and elegant woman she is. My best friend lived (lives) in the same building as Joyce on Central Park West. I was a little too early in meeting her a few years ago as the doorman said she never leaves the apartment unless she is impeccably dressed. I had to leave... Wonderful woman in so many delightful ways!

“Aunt Joyce” came to our house in NJ every thanksgiving with her husband (my dads business partner) and their son Randy. I still keep in touch with Randy, who lives in Florida. He visits his mom all the time in NYC and takes her to numerous Broadway plays. She’s a fantastic lady!
I love the Honeymooners! I grew up watching, and still watch to this day. The episodes were so well done, that most of the weekly plots, were programmed in my long term memory.

Gleason had an endearing quality that filled the screen. Since he didn't like rehearsals, it was always entertaining to see the off the cuff dialogue on a live broadcast. The cast, particularly Randolph were all triumphant in their own right.
I always loved when Joyce had some extra participation in an episode she added something special to the mix and was the perfect partner for Norton they were a bread and butter couple it's a shame they couldn't keep their partnership in a spin-off that would have been really awesome! It's amazing what one remembers as a child, in our later years. I was a very very young child during "The Honeymooners," sitcom, but remember watching it with my parents. Joyce Randolph as well as all the other actors were so "life like" in their roles they played in that sitcom. Still catch a view or two once in a while even today! 👍

I got to meet Audrey Meadows as a 16 year old kid making a delivery to her apartment on the east side. To say I was star struck is an understatement. She was very kind. Years later I saw Art Carney filming a scene on Broadway in Astoria Queens for the movie Going in Style. Never met Ms. Randolph but she sounds like a wonderful lady too. Gleason lived not to far from where I live in Florida now; he didn't get such a good rap from those who met him. He was reportedly a Diva.
My father made us sit there and watched every show. He would laugh so hard at something that was said. As I was a small child I didn’t understand the funny parts. As an adult I re watched the show and now understood. I too laughed hard at some of the things those people got into.

The Honeymooners will always be an iconic show. I believe it was the beginning of all the family shows we see today. Gleason was a genius in my opinion, and he did know talent when he saw it. Im fairly ill and due to pain I need to smile before I drift off to sleep. I don't do pain medication at night, so sleep is a challenge. And of course the news and politics is off limits after 7 PM. At 11 each night I get into bed and turn on The Honeymooners, either on You Tube or the complete set of 39 episodes I own. The most watched, for me, are, The Head of the House, The Stage and The Bensonhurst Bomber. But really, any episodes do well. When I wake up about 3 AM I can tell when I fell asleep by recalling the last line I heard in any episode. Then I fall back asleep for a little while until the pain overcomes me and I take my pain medication. I enjoy the mistakes, as in the confusion between the pretzels and the donuts in The Bensonhurst Bomber episode. The whole 39 episodes are a gem which never lose their shine.
My dad once met Audrey Meadows while checking into a hotel in Boston. Apparently she was also checking in as well. He mentioned that she was much shorter than he expected.
I think that I can identify every scene shown and do most of the dialog. The last one was just before Ralph served oatmeal that he had cooked all by himself. After he slopped some into Alice's bowl, he said, "Roll that around in your mouth!" Must have been ad-libbed.

The Honeymooners is still the greatest sitcom of all time. It’s the gold standard by which I judge all others. Some have come close, like Derry Girls, but none have yet to top it.
@3:19 -- This was the first time that I saw any part of the show's set. I doubt that that was the only photograph ever taken. But where are they? How about a photo of the audience, or a photo outside the window, or a photo of outside the front door, or a photo of the area portrayed as the bedroom. By the way, this goes for countless TV shows. The rarity of such photos conveys a conscious effort on the part of the personnel (in charge of the show) to keep those areas a secret. We are not talking about Area 51, or Fort Knox. So why the secrecy? Where are the photos? I would love to see the seating section of the show. Is it possible that no one ever took a photo?

I'm glad I was a kid, watching this show when it was fresh and new. Yes....everyone was watching it. You had to be there in the 50s and 60s to experience what it was really like. Life was so much different. There were 3 TV channels. We had a black and white set. TV was a family oriented medium. I stopped owning/watching all tv about 40 years ago....and from what I gather, haven't missed a thing.

My favorite episode with Joyce Randolph was when she and Audrey Meadows(Alice Kramden) ended up wearing the same dress. The story was Ralph was to receive an award for being the safetiest bus driver.
Although there was only one actress for Alice and Trixie during its classic 39 run, 3 actresses played Alice in The Honeymooners during its sketches going from the early 1950s into the 1960s, and 3 actresses played Trixie during the same run.
Maybe you can explain to me about "The Honeymooners, Lost Episodes" ? Were they part of Jackie's show when it was an hour program ? Also, I think they are a kinescope process, so the image is not as crisp as those classic well known episodes are. Are there details you can share on these too ?

NO Jackie did NOT call her, he asked his agent for her. He referred to her as "That serious actress." The rest of the cast wanted to rehearse on Mr. Gleason did not want to rehearse as he felt it kept the comedy fresher. Audrey Meadows was not asked to come back in the revivals either.

@@FactsVerse they all are. One I remember well is the fellows playing pool. This leads to insults. When a fighting match is called, Ralph has a plan. He really does knock a guy out who insults him. That looks, those eyes. Hilarious!

Absolutely a fan. Have all the episodes on DVD. The ensemble cast were second to none, and they played off each other brilliantly. Let's not forget either that without The Honeymooners there would have been no Flintstones.

@@FactsVerse That's a tough one, but I did like "The Golfer" where Ralph's big mouth finds him playing golf with his boss. The only problem is he can't play, and ends up taking fast tips from Norton.

True. You know on the Looney Tunes there is a cartoon called The Honeymousers! When l saw the title l was curious. It was mice portraying the Honeymooners! It was funny. I thought l was first wrong cause Ralph called Norton Morton. I continued to watch til l heard their gestures very similar to the shows one watched.
I agree. They always reminded me of the Honeymooners.

The Honeymooners is still the greatest sitcom of all time. It’s the gold standard by which I judge all others. Some have come close, like Derry Girls, but none have yet to top it.
@3:19 -- This was the first time that I saw any part of the show's set.
I doubt that that was the only photograph ever taken. But where are they?
How about a photo of the audience, or a photo outside the window, or a photo of outside the front door, or a photo of the area portrayed as the bedroom.
By the way, this goes for countless TV shows.
The rarity of such photos conveys a conscious effort on the part of the personnel (in charge of the show) to keep those areas a secret.
We are not talking about Area 51, or Fort Knox. So why the secrecy? Where are the photos?
I would love to see the seating section of the show. Is it possible that no one ever took a photo?

I was a very big fan of The Honeymooners . I steel can't believe the show did 39 episodes of the show. I just found out that Miss Joyce Randolph pass away at the age of 99 years old in New York.

I'm glad I was a kid, watching this show when it was fresh and new. Yes....everyone was watching it. You had to be there in the 50s and 60s to experience what it was really like. Life was so much different. There were 3 TV channels. We had a black and white set. TV was a family oriented medium. I stopped owning/watching all tv about 40 years ago....and from what I gather, haven't missed a thing.

@@FactsVerse They're all great...but I really enjoyed the episode where Trixie and Alice replaced the contents in a wine bottle with grape juice. Hilarious. As an aside, all Gleason fans need to watch "The Hustler".
My favorite episode with Joyce Randolph was when she and Audrey Meadows(Alice Kramden) ended up wearing the same dress. The story was Ralph was to receive an award for being the safetiest bus driver.

Although there was only one actress for Alice and Trixie during its classic 39 run, 3 actresses played Alice in The Honeymooners during its sketches going from the early 1950s into the 1960s, and 3 actresses played Trixie during the same run.
Maybe you can explain to me about "The Honeymooners, Lost Episodes" ? Were they part of Jackie's show when it was an hour program ? Also, I think they are a kinescope process, so the image is not as crisp as those classic well known episodes are. Are there details you can share on these too ?
Yeah I was. I found that often the sink would stole the spotlight. I still wonder how they did those sound effects.

NO Jackie did NOT call her, he asked his agent for her. He referred to her as "That serious actress." The rest of the cast wanted to rehearse on Mr. Gleason did not want to rehearse as he felt it kept the comedy fresher. Audrey Meadows was not asked to come back in the revivals either.
