As a black woman I just want to say that I’m tired of race being the focal point of every topic. This woman is undeniably a great athlete and it’s unfair that her accomplishments are being overshadowed by jealousy, hatred, pettiness, resentment and prejudice. All I have to say is Caitlin don’t ever allow anyone to dull your shine….. It’s your time to shine so in the words of Rhianna “shine bright like a diamond.”

I understand Caitlin Clark may be getting some of the heat but as a black woman you should understand your own struggles and understand the resentment towards you and the jealousy towards you. Caitlin Clark definitely deserves credit for what she has done and is a great athlete however this was a problem that was happening prior to Caitlin Clark and as a black woman and will be pleasing to see you fight for yourself and your own. I don't think people are jealous of her. Have to be careful with the jealousy remarks because only the people who are objecting to her understand their motives. Nobody's taking anything out on Caitlin Clark they are just speaking the truth and she just happens to be in the position who are receiving benefits.

The takeaway that is being missed in this whole dust-up is that it's affecting a portion of her fan base more than it's affecting her. She's living her best life; ROTY, 1st team All WNBA, courtside at Pacers games, playing events on the LPGA/PGA. Magazine covers, etc. None of that is going to change if a bunch of you pearl clutchers take your basketballs and go home. I think you'll ultimately be disappointed that your absence isn't going to change a thing for her. She's still going to hoop and try to win a championship. And even if you quit going to games and buying the merchandise, what's remaining will still be vastly more than before she showed up. And new fans will be made; one's like myself that just want to watch her hoop and root for her and her teammates to get that ring.

It's so obvious the impact CC has had on the WNBA in one season. Anything she'll say will be attacked because in current times, this country is built on division, on hate, on racism, etc etc. Personally I wish she didn't fall into the trap on the Time interview. She EARNED where's she's at, and that's all she really had to say. Why should she be the champion of friendship in a league that clearly is still in some ways against her (for what legit reasons I do not know). Many of the players in the WNBA are so petty, so unprofessional, and actually pretty stupid despite whatever their college degree says.

But in contrast to so many celebrities these days, she is always thoughtful and gracious - and never fails to acknowledge the contributions of others. We can only hope that she becomes a “role model” in that way, too - in addition to her unbelievable athletic skills. She didn’t ask to be put at the center of a social media firestorm, or a national conversation about race - but she’s handled it admirably. If they don't end up changing their tune-AND behavior-then this will, in hindsight, end up as THE dumbest statement Clark could have ever made. It will prove that you have to just throw the whole league in the trash, because there's literally no saving it from itself!

This is why I like Stephen A Smith, he doesn't give a damn what anyone thinks, he sticks to what he believes, and what is right.

On the playing field, there is no privilege, you either have the talent or you don’t. Caitlin upset the hierarchy of the black players. She simply beat them at their own game, no apology needed.

This was the best year for WNBA viewership. They still lost $40 million this season. Let that sink in. The WNBA wasn’t built by black women. It was built by NBA subsidies.

It would have been a heck of a lot truer if she had said the wnba was built through the funding of the nba and she was thankful for all the black men playing in the nba for supporting women’s basketball….she can give accolades to people but she should pick the right ones. 😂

I’m Black and I’m sick of the crybaby race shit from black players. Obviously you guys played but didn’t bring it to heights as CC did. Cut the race shit out and stop crying my god. This is why the nba is losing rating because of the left liberal ideas and woke shit. CC just stuck in the middle when all she want to do is hoop lmao, so it’s damned if you do damned if you don’t. In my eyes she played her cards right for now. Basically she telling all you lefties shutup and stop crying like little babies.
