One of the best films ever. ❤❤❤
Evokes so many memories and deep feelings of times passed
I can't begin to say how much I Identify with this without revealing myself. It's deep.
I feel the same way. I love it but I also feel melancholy watching and listening to this clip.
Ii watch it each summer just to feel that.
I get homesick to be back in those times 🇦🇺👌
What a great, melancholic movie.
Only true art is capable of letting real beauty shimmer through tragedy and despair.
Agree
Because that’s what life…beautifully tragic, tragically beautiful… etc
This film is so poignant at the end it always makes me tear up. They were truly friends.
What a movie. What a song. Both so unbelievably awesome
Real
Nilson is a brilliant songwriter and singer. This unforgettable film keeps this song alive.
Nilsson was great. Fred Neil wrote that song.
Hofffman and Voight put in their best ever performances in this superb movie, arguably the best film produced in the states.
um dos melhores filmes e causou impacto pra época.
Filmaso 1969 nós cine Santa Efigênia em Belo Horizonte no meus 17 anos hoje o cinema está em ruina
This movie is timeless 💫
Agree
I saw it in 1970 during the start of my senior year in high school. It had been edited from the initial release the year before from X to R. Three of us skipped school that afternoon to go see it. I have it on my DVR and recently rewatched it. Still as powerful now as it was back 50+ years ago.
One of the greatest motion pictures Eva!!!!
Thank You , it was nice to remember so many things , sitting here at 70 yrs old, this stuff keeps you going ...
I'm 78 Bud .....after living in Asia for 17 yrs doing aid work ...I came back to America 2 yrs ago due to Covid.... America is NO place for old folks. It's horrifying here.
Nostalgia. Moments and memories (good or bad) that`s what life is all about my friends.
@@gingeralireminds me of me as youngster listening on the Radio oblivious to what was to come cheers 🇦🇺👌
@@user-bf9sk5wl5z I'm sorry Sir, I am 46. I care about you. I live in CA. I have always cared about the elderly. I know my place. God bless.
@@user-bf9sk5wl5z So go back to Asia I wont stop you
Great film . I ❤ that song
Me too
I first watched this movie as a teenager probably in the late '70s or very early '80s. I remember telling my dad somethinbg like "it's such a realistic depiction of NYC!". (I grew up in rural Ohio) My dad replied "well, it's A depiction of NYC!". As usual, he was right. As a young adult, I loved NYC. Of colurse, Nilsson's song is incredible.
Saw this wonderful movie when it came out. Broke my heart, but so beautiful and raw and memorable. Thank you for this video. It took me back in time ...
An iconic American movie.
Certainly one of the best !
The movie was simple greatness. No other like it.
Great song and movie!
Such a touchable movie and song, too!!❤❤
Loving nod to all the key moments in this extraordinary film - beautiful editing job which evoked memories and emotions. Thank you!
Classic movie. Tells quite a story about America. I didnt see it until I was older. I was too young when it came out. But it really struck me when I did see it.
Harry Nilsson, the composer and performer of this classic tune had a string of hits. He was a very talented but troubled artist.
Harry didnt compose this song, he did compose many great songs but this wasnt one of them.
But nilkson wasn't the original songwriter Fred Neil was
Nilsson didn't write this song.
NIlsson didn't write it, but he definitely made it his own. He wrote many classics, though.
Dustin Hoffman was an extremely lucky man when he started out in the movies in the 1960’s. He got starring roles in two of the very best movies or that decade, or any other decade for that matter!. This movie “Midnight Cowboy” and “The Graduate” were both wonderful movies and remain two of my all-time favourites.
Midnight Cowboy, yes, but The Graduate? It doesn't hold up. 8th graders aren't that naïve.
A masterpiece.
I've always liked this song it turned up on my UA-cam feed just at the right time as I was feeling kinda grumpy and a little bit angry all better now thanks to this song 🎵
one of the best movies of all time. i have seen it many times and it still touches my heart. wish i could go back to 70,s . love looking at the cars and everything else from this time
Classic movie 60´s!
Love this film it's so sad but their performances are amazing especially Hoffman, it shows how hard it is to survive..times haven't changed at all really
Well observed - the more things change, the more they stay the same.
True
great song great film great actors
I suddenly felt quite depressed we just don't get films with any class anymore stuck with marvel and dc this film poor iconic
Movies back then has actually meaning
I love Dustin Hoffman ,I wish I could meet Him in person, actually, probably won't happen
He is almost 80 years old ,can you imagine !
I love Tootsie,Kramer versus Kramer,The Graduate
I feel the same as you, and I’m only 20.
You spoke a great truth bro.👍
Do you like marvel?
I like the superhero genre but I LOVE this.
I just remembered as a child looking at the glorious sun rays pouring through the leaves of a tree. Birds flying everywhere in that same tree. And in the background listening to this song!!!!! It is simply amazing back in 1975!!!!!!!
Absolutely A Masterpiece !!!
Dustin Hoffman's shouting at the cab wasn't acting and wasn't in the script. The street had been cordoned off to film the scene but the taxi barreled through the set. When he tried to plow past the actors, what you see is his nearly hitting them. Hoffman's furious response "we're walking here!" was genuine.
apparently it was scripted, the Collector's Edition DVD has interviews that state as much!
I wonder if there is any reference to Back to the Future Part II, where Marty Jr crosses the road and says something similar?!
A lot of people say “The Graduate” or “Bonnie and Clyde” or even “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” was the movie that really changed Hollywood filmmaking - but I’d like to think it was THIS - "Midnight Cowboy" - that really changed the scope and potential of film-making.
Only Harry could sing this song. Great film.
I still use the term "Im walking here!" Great movie and great song!
A true cinematic masterpiece.
Just love that song. Great movie.
This is easily one of the most sad movies I've ever experienced.
Great movie! Great song to by Harry Nillsson , it fits well with the movie:
Nice idea to have the most iconic line of the film right up front! Also great song by Harry Nilsson!
For a film directed by a British person, Midnight Cowboy has more Americana going for it than most films ever produced in my opinion. Great writing and acting. I saw this X Rated film (I think the first ever) when it came out in the theatres. One of the best movies of all time in my opinion. I'm also a Harry Nilsson fan, have lots of his records.
Hoffman and Voight are acting masters. I miss them in real movies.
Loved this film.
Loved the song.
Love Jon Voight.
Hoffman great actor, weird bloke.
and jon isn't ?? 😊
Great song and movie.
Film d'altri tempi.
Non se ne fanno più di film così belli.
70's decade ...wonderful decade for American cinema 🎥 ❤❤❤
Once we were young
I love it one of favorite loved the series my favourite BTW I'm 53 but you can't beat acting years ago ❤❤❤❤
Everybody's talkin' at me
I don't hear a word they're sayin'
Only the echoes of my mind
People stoppin', starin'
I can't see their faces
Only the shadows of their eyes
I'm goin' where the sun keeps shinin'
Through the pourin' rain
Goin' where the weather suits my clothes
Bankin' off of the northeast winds
Sailin' on summer breeze
And skippin' over the ocean like a stone
I'm goin' where the sun keeps shinin'
Through the pourin' rain
Goin' where the weather suits my clothes
Bankin' off of the northeast winds
Sailin' on summer breeze
And skippin' over the ocean like a stone
Everybody's talkin' at me
Gracias por compartir la letra de la canción.😊. Es muy bueno saber el contenido y ver la película lo hace mucho mejor y más interesante.
Hey ! I'm walkin here! 😊
Iconic Movie, Iconic Music!
There are tons of iconic movies out there, but this is my absolute favorite one since decades.
Only film ever to win an Academy award ( Oscar ) for Best Picture that is rated X / R.
So much talent in the world of this time, what the feck happened .?
"Progressive Liberalism" happened
At 0:40 - this was when the MONY Building's degree sign (on the third lamp bank) took up 14 bulbs in a 6 x 5 grid. That lighting arrangement dated to about 1960-61. And yes, this was the display that entranced Tommy James to co-write "Mony Mony" (which was a hit for him and his group, The Shondells, when this was being filmed).
Notice, out of 131 bulbs on the 56th Street side (facing south), two are missing, thus only 129 are in place. (And on the Broadway side, facing east, 128 of 130 bulbs are present.)
In 1972-73, the top frontage would be radically altered with the then-current MONY logo, and the degree sign changed to 12 bulbs in a 5 x 5 grid.
**DAMN!! WHEN I FIRST SAW THIS FILM IT WAS IN THE 70's, I REMEMBER WATCHING THIS EXCELLENT FILM, ALONE WITH A JOINT. EXCELLENT MEMORIES!!**
You were alone in a theater smoking a joint... in the 70's?
You sure about that?
People got arrested back then for that... 30 days.
My favorite movie of all time-wow
Highly recommended movie
I gotta see this movie. I remembered watching the trailer when I was little.
It is well worth watching. I hope you make time to see it.
LOVE the orchestration arrangements in this song. by Music Arranger, George Tipton. Music Arrangers DON'T get enough credit for helping to make songs BIG hits.
to me, those strings carry the whole song.
Great film,great song.Thank you.

Godbless all midnight Cowboys always ❤
To this day, I consider this film to be one of the most depressing I have ever seen. Ten years after this film was made, I lived in NYC and it was pretty much still like this: gritty and immoral, tough and uncompromising. I grew up in seconds because being naive would have spelled disaster.
Most depressing for me would be The Misfits, the last film for Clark Gable, Marilyn Monroe, and Monty Clift, about corralling mustangs in the desert to sell for pet food. I will NEVER watch that again.
He was walking there!!
golden age...
I lived in Germany for four months and I would never leave it there but I had a personal issue!😎
Twice I've wept during a movie. This one and the combat in Forest Gump. Both an emotional crash.
😃 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Everybody's Talkin'
Harry Nilsson
Todo mundo está falando de mim
Everybody's talking at me
Eu não ouço uma palavra do que estão dizendo
I don't hear a word they're saying
Apenas os ecos da minha mente
Only the echoes of my mind
Pessoas param de me encarar
People stopping staring
Não posso ver seus rostos
I can't see their faces
Somente as sombras dos seus olhos
Only the shadows of their eyes
Eu estou indo onde o Sol continua brilhando
I'm going where the Sun keeps shining
Através da chuva torrencial
Through the pouring rain
Indo para onde o clima combina com minhas roupas
Going where the weather suits my clothes
Afastando-se do vento nordeste
Backing off of the north east wind
Navegando na brisa de verão
Sailing on summer breeze
E saltando sobre o oceano como uma pedra
Skipping over the ocean like a stone
Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh!
Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh!
Eu estou indo onde o Sol continua brilhando
I'm going where the Sun keeps shining
Através da chuva torrencial
Through the pouring rain
Indo para onde o clima combina com minhas roupas
Going where the weather suits my clothes
Afastando-me do vento nordeste
Backing off of the north east wind
Navegando na brisa de verão
Sailing on summer breeze
Saltando sobre o oceano tal qual uma pedra
Skipping over the ocean like a stone
Todo mundo está falando de mim
Everybody's talking at me
Eu não consigo ouvir uma palavra do que estão dizendo
I don't hear a word they're saying
Apenas os ecos da minha mente
Only the echoes of my mind
Ah, eu não vou permitir que você deixe meu amor pra trás
Ah, I won't let you leave my love behind
Não, eu não vou deixar que você se vá
Oh, ah, I won't let you leave
Não vou, ah
Won't, ah
Eu não vou permitir que você deixe meu amor pra trás
I won't let you leave my love behind
