    Nice interview, guys. I'm glad there are channels like this. I absolutely love watching Takashii from Japan. I never miss a video post.

    Takashi is like "yeah don't go to my hometown, so boring" 😆. That's how I feel about where I grew up lol

    Toru-san, something that really impressed me about Takashii-san is that in one of his videos he was willing to go to the slums of Nishinari and chat with the homeless people there. That's not common for many Japanese people and it touched my heart.

    This interview was great! I've subscribed to TAKASHii's channel for months and until now only saw him ask questions to other people. This is the first time I learned some back story to Takashi's life and it was very interesting. I like how he started his UA-cam channel to avoid Japanese corporate salaryman life. Good call.

      That was based. More people are rejecting the office bug life in favor of something meaningful. I respect it

    I like the reversal here, Takashii-san is so kind to put English subtitles when he is translating a Japanese interview or another foreign language. I see that you are doing the same for your Japanese audience, that's very thoughtful.

      And if you're not Japanese, it's pretty decent reading practice, even if you can only understand some of the Kanji or can't read super fast.

    So much fun watching you two flip between Nihongo and English. I see two people inside each of you as you switch. I do the same - I speak five languages (Portuguese, English, German, Spanish and now some Japanese) and my whole body seems to change for each one. I wish you two young men great good fortune in life ! Your spark is beautiful.

    I think the concept of Toru channel is really cool - - Japanese who lived in states for 10 years re learning about Japan and its culture.
    Also very cool to hear Takashii's hopes and dreams in an interview.

    Sukajan... I did not know the name. It is a really interesting idea to go into apparel.
    The current image if there is one of Sukajan as far as I know, is a retro-look from the 1980's? It reminds me of an old arcade video-game called Double-Dragon or Biker-Gangs like Hell's Angels with some wicked picture on their leather jacket backs and mullet hair-styles etc.
    If it were updated: An interesting challenging, it might need a reconceptualization of the essence of the idea to gain traction in fashion interest. There is a definite interest in the "hip people" in the city I used to work in, London (UK) where every individual is trying to dress to be "unique". I think there's always room for such innovative ideas therefore in fashion if done with skill, style and insight !
    The shiny fabric + Sukajan might not work nor imagery that is to garish. If that is so, then perhaps an alternative or opposite approach might lead to results. I especially think such different tone of colours and using Yōkai (妖怪, "strange apparition") might gain a lot of interest if done with depth of background and new formulation of picture creation as part of garment that feels natural (maybe even natural fibres)?
    Thank you for the interview, Mr. Ushikado. You have the actor's grace to make people feel at ease even more so than the talented Mr. Takashi.

    If I see you practicing with a bokuto, I'll probably ask you who your sensei is, and where you train. I was sorry to hear that you experienced some nasty interaction in the US, but I'm not surprised. It was interesting to see the camera turned the other way for Takashi. Thank you for the excellent interview. Have subbed.

    (7:54) I am not surprised. Although many people fantasize about living abroad, they are used to their countries culture. Unless the other country has a similar culture, people may get tired of living in a new country long term.

    Interesting observation he made at around 6:05. White people were indeed the overwhelming majority race in all states of the US up until the last 2 decades or so. If Takashii went to California or NY in the 80s it probably would have been closer to his expectations. I'm assuming he got his impression of America from watching older classic films like Godfather or The Graduate?

    • @AyueKodamaes
      @AyueKodamaes 4 місяці тому

      White people still the majority in the South and in power positions everywhere.

    • @VanessaSouza-rz8uo
      @VanessaSouza-rz8uo 3 місяці тому +1

      Well,the majority population in the USA still white tho. I think a lot of Mexican immigrants arrived recently(Mexican not necessarily mean person of color, there are Mexicans who are white). But those people always seems to claim Mexican nationality even if they born in the USA, for reasons that I don't know why, lmao.
