From the road up, back when our world was still functional, before the fall into disrepair and dystopia. The single place I'd like to be in the most is the place I could never reach, back in a time I was before.
Well, the 1990s were the time when the world could fix a lot of things: the global warming, the local conflicts, the relations between former and nascent superpowers. But the world preferred to celebrate and dance. An opportunity missed. But it sure felt great, like something old was thrown away and something new and exciting was coming. BTW, I checked your channel and found a music playlist :) I pulled several songs into my own collection, thanks! Then, a 155-strong playlist about DSG problems? I am glad my Mk7 GTi has a manual :)
@@ConsumerDV Aah that playlist, the only one beyond the other one you mentioned that's public. It's definitely giving away far too much information about me than I'd like to share. Terrible, incomplete and incoherent under any possible way and a mishmash of stuff. Curiously enough my profile doesn't work against me. It says I am UK based. I've never been there and I don't speak English.
Thank you for your videos, they are very helpful. Could this same quality be achieved with just a Video8 camcorder connected via S-Video to a Dazzle DVC-100 and virtualdub software?
The DVC100 makes a slightly softer video than, say, VC500. It does not have TBC-like functionality. I played these tapes on a Digital8 camcorder that has built-in TBC. But if your tapes and the camcorder are in good condition, you can achieve good results even without a TBC.
I played 8mm tapes on a Digital8 camcorder that has built-in TBC into an ASUS PureTV-U 48B0 TV/Radio combo card. Then I used VirtualDub2 for processing as described here: ua-cam.com/video/XzY1Vo1occc/v-deo.html Supposedly, processing with Avisynth can yield better result because more powerful filters are available, but I am averse to scripting.

Прекрасные кадры! Настоящая историческая ценность!
Спасибо, Павел!
Thanks good video
Excellent image quality! This video is superb. Compared to other videos on youtube of the same era.
Thank you! This is standard Video8 by the way, not Hi8. I transferred it using a Digital8 camcorder that has built-in TBC.
@@ConsumerDV Wow, analog source! I have some analog cameras, but I need to fix them.
Everything is great!

How did you deinterlace into 60P?
