One of the things I love about Avi's music is that he is not afraid to go where his creative mind takes him. In his mind, this is how he imagined it. The other day, I shuffled my playlist, and Full Moon played right after Good Good Love . Amazing that they are the same artist!

I love this song. I compare his lyrics to Haiku: In few words, he is able to capture many concepts, feelings, and mysteries. I love this version with all of the harmonies, but I also love (maybe even a tiny bit more) his version Live from UA-cam Space LA. That one is just his voice, very minimal guitar, and a lot of patience. Somehow there is great intensity in that.

I live on an island on Maine's coast, Saeed, last night a stunning golden moon, not full, rose over the trees and reflected off of the still ocean ~ and yes, this song echoed in my mind ! While I love this, I do love the live version from You Tube space more as it takes me out of my head. I will always be a fan of anything this man sings, but I love how he changes up his own music, offering different takes on the same song. That is incredible talent.

I can never get tired of listening to Avi Kaplan. He has such talent and versatility in his voice. This song is just so atmospheric. Your description of it was bang on Saeed. For me, the music captures that feeling of awe the universe evokes when we just stop and look. You’re right, the words are economical, and it just blends perfectly with the music. The pink moon, I remember hearing here in the UK, was visible around 23rd/24th of April. I believe it is the first full moon of April and historically would be seen as a symbol of change and renewal. Just like Springtime. It lasts around 3 days.

The background music accompanied by his buttery smooth vocals is definitely mesmerizing. It kind of gives me the feel of middle-eastern vibes at certain times during this piece of art if you listen closely. I can almost see in my mind with my eyes closed , the song/music from Dune, that Diana Ankudinova sings. I'm talking about the music and not her vocals, if that makes sense. Anyway, hi Saeed... Before Avi released the official version of "Full Moon", back in April 2019 he performed it for the first time, backed by about 200 young singers who'd gathered for the 1st Annual Avi Kaplan Choir Festival in Oregon. Avi had arranged the song for the full choir backing, and it was amazing. He's done a few of these festivals, and has also sung with specific high school and college choirs. When in college, he had planned to possibly become a choir director, so these festivals and the A Cappella Academy are ways that he's been able to touch on that idea. ua-cam.com/video/s2WuylRfi38/v-deo.html

I knew you'd love this one. The first time I heard it, I got a Spanish/Moroccan feel from it. By the way, "Full Moon" is the last cut on the "I'lI Get By" EP, which makes the long fadeout make a lot of sense. I agree with those who've commented on the UA-cam Space version, but I also like the "live live" versions, for a pure, in-the-moment experience. So here's the video I captured on November 30, 2022 in Berkeley, California, the second stop on the "I'll Get By" tour. Standing just a few feet from him (in the VIP session before the show), I got both an occasional look in the eyes and a deep rumbling from the floor all the way up to the top of my head when he hit those super low notes at the end. Its an amazing song. Definitely has a Eastern type sound to it. Almost medidative. Very soothing. On the next full moon i need to go outside with headphones and listen to this.
