Always handy to have a small pair of scissors ✂️ in your pocket to! I scored some as a student and still use them.

Hi Charlotte! Im doing a nursing pathway and planning to go to AUT in next year's intake. I have 2 kids so I really want to hear from you about how to manage time, a bit about timetable and placement schedule please. I know its different for everyone, but want to listen to your experience so I can start preparing now and will not be overwhelmed or burning out next year. Thank you so much!!!

Hi lovely! Thank you for watching my video and big congrats on starting your nursing journey! With placements, I found that they will always be Monday - Friday, so your weekends will be free for study/work/relaxing/family-time, and the shifts vary - if you're in hospital they will typically move between 7am-3pm and 2.30pm-11pm, whereas if you're in the community they can vary but will typically be daytime hours! The placements will usually be between 3-5 weeks with your final placement being 10 weeks. In terms of managing time, I found calendar-blocking really helpful as it allowed me to see when I had free time available or when things were due, and for day-to-day things I found keeping a daily or weekly to-do list so valuable in staying on track! I really hope this was helpful and good luck for next year! You've got this :)

Hi lovely! In my first year I used www.medshop.nz but you can also buy using trademe, Facebook market, and www.nzmdl.co.nz - If you're buying your stethoscope, I really recommend investing and getting a Littman if you're able! They're better quality and will last you :) Congrats on starting your second semester and thank you so much for watching my video!
