Rice paper sail tutorial in 3 MINUTES ONLY! No soaking or drying!

This is a very quick method that I have developed for making a rice paper sail (works for wafer paper as well!)
Instead of the old method of soaking in water and letting dry overnight. Here you simply boil some water, and allow the steam to hit the rice paper. It will start to soften and you shape it as you go through, until you're happy with the look. You can colour before and after, or you can simply leave it clear! To colour while still keeping it dry, simply use:
***Rose spirit or any alcohol based substance
(I used "quick paint" by BARCO)
***lustre dusts, or edible dust
***gel food colouring
Use paint brushes and sponges
MIX & MATCH & GET CREATIVE!

You are the bomb! You just saved my cake!😂 It's due at 630 and my sails probably won't be dry. I'm going to remake them using this method. I'm trying to apply them in a light blue and clear color to mimic waves on a beach themed cake. Thanks for sharing!

Yes I use it on buttercream cakes, and would be perfectly fine in the fridge for up to months..

Hi, you can use lustre dust without any liquids, or you can use any edible paint that is alcohol free.
