A lot of you guys have been saying that the photo I used is NOT a photo, but a rendering instead. At first I was 100% it was a photo, but the more you guys commented saying it was a render, the lower that percentage got 🤣 So I reached out to Punch Architects and, after a few days, they confirmed that it is indeed...... ...a photo :) I'm glad you guys were interested enough to have the discussion though, thank you! 🐦
appreciate your work. though twinmotion would need something like the filmic blender addon for blender. i think twinmotion (like plenty of renderers) has a low dynamic range. also the ground could use serious normal maps to hide the fact that it's not very detailed
🤣 you know, after sometime, I was like, what if this is not an image. What if it's a rendering...the more I looked at it the more "perfect" it looked haha. It is possible to make renderings of that quality. I highly doubt it's a rendering though. But I would crack up if it turns out to be.
Mooch , ha!, my thought of the original being rendered came from that tree in the front, it has bit of that standard rendered quality to it and then add to that this perfectness of scene. Renderings indeed have gone to that level that they are just indistinguishable from reality. So, I wont mind if it was a rendered image, thus...
hey mooch, I've noticed you've transferred from enscape to twinmotion, any reason for this change? Just a tiny citique, I think the shadows should be corrected at the very start so that e.g the bushes are correctly lit as you said around 8 minutes in, it would help i could imagine as you would be able to find textures/objects that match better suited to the right setting, but good work either way, it's pretty close!
Change the „weather“ to summer and you will get a complete blue sky ;) Great video! If there is a way to get better results with a higher resolution in the trial version pls make a video :)
It would make big difference moving back camera then zooming in and playing with focal lenght to get shorter, more flat perspective like in reference image
Great channel, love your content! Think replicating existing images/things is a great way to learn a new software. I'm yet to fully commit to learning TM, think VRay has spoilt me :( Also don't know if you already did this but check 'global illumination' in turned on (helps with indirect lighting) also use 'refection probes' they help create more realistic reflections.
Modernist architecture is relatively easy to get fairly realistic looking. Try to render any building style pre-1900 and Twinmotion will have more trouble with it, probably need unreal or vray or corona.
Not sure, but if you adjust the location (on the planet), I think the sky gradients change as well. Also SketchUp has a photo match feature. You did great without it.
twin motion is a good rendering engine but if u want something realistic looking, u have to use another engine, like V ray, corona render'er ,lumion is better than twin motion but its the same, in order to get a realistic looking render you have to put lots and lots of effort into it and then using post production to enhance it, i have seen some good renderings with lumion but its not as good as V ray for example and if the V ray render is without Post production enhancements still look so much better than enhanced or i shall say altared renders from these two RT engines, but still love your channel keep doing what you're doing and good luck!
this question is not really related to this video but I would really like to know the answer to this question: what is the difference between a BARCH and a BFA in architecture and how will it impact getting a license?
If you're in the US, you have to go to the NCARB website and see what the requirements for your state are. If they require an NAAB accredited degree, head over to NAAB's website and filter schools by states and try to find the one that you want to attend. Then see which of their degrees is accredited. Hope that helps !
Great replication! Pretty close but the image looked a bit in a darker mood compared to the original. I would suggest leaving the weather clear and play with the lighting settings like the exposure and ambient light. Oh, also I believe that you can change the color of the plants by using the eyedropper tool. Twinmotion has great potential in photorealism if you know what settings work hehe. Check out my channel where I use Twinmotion for photorealism practice.
There is a small scale oversizef like you mentionned it. and you should reduce it and the texture are going to get better if you buy prenium materials.
Twinmotion is super user friendly but the realism is really a miss, I went with vray, it's more complicated but the end result is far better and much more possibilities.
why are you using twinmotion? Isn't doesn't output realistic renders and requires a lot of post-processing in photoshop. To be fair not all renderings should be hyper realistic, but twinmotion outputs everything with poor shadowing and subpar textures. The worst part IMO is the vegetation.
The most real image I seen from twinmotion is name robbie_design on instagram. He have very real render in some post have garden pool area that is pure photoreal some
I checked him out! His exterior shots are okay. I wouldn't call them photorealistic yet. His interior shots are impressive though. I'd assume they're real at first glance!

A little concerning...I've been using Sketchup for 3 months and vray for a month and even I could see it was a rendered image.
@@glenhong8028 it's not. It's a photograph.

6:04 "and as always.. remember to save... because TM as great as it is.. it is unstable AF and will crash at the smallest thing..
Exactly. On average, it crashed on me a few times per session. It becomes less annoying if you save ever 5 min 🤣
plot twist: the original image was rendered in in twinmotion.

@@masuttta I actually think it's that tree that started my doubt ! Anyway, thanks for the comments. Gave me a good laugh.
@@Moochers I really think it's a Render, it must be, that is not a Photograph, we Architects know that quite well
Im about 99% sure it's a photograph but everytime someone else comments, I drop a percent 🤣 let me try reaching out to them
Really nice that's what twinmotion can give you in way less time and in such good quality , awesome one mooch
Yea, it's not bad! And if you Photoshop afterward it, you'll get better results!
This was a very very good exercise, I would love to see another one but with a more challenging photograph. Thank you!
Loved the video! New to the family and loving the content!
I vote yes on this becoming a series!
Welcome to the family!
Should Twinmotion make a character version of me and add it to their program?

I think u can customize your image final resolution by inputting the value u want even if the 4k is not activated
Awesome!
from where can i get models for rhino?
Modernist architecture is relatively easy to get fairly realistic looking. Try to render any building style pre-1900 and Twinmotion will have more trouble with it, probably need unreal or vray or corona.
Ah.... good point. Do I sense a challenge coming a long ;]
how much merch have you sold since you began? just curious =)
Not much at all
how did you export from Rhino to Twinmotion?
Not sure, but if you adjust the location (on the planet), I think the sky gradients change as well.

What software do you use
Revit or Rhino + Twinmotion or Enscape
Great video

How were the scores in the top of the concrete added? that was in rhino i’m guessing

Q.Mooch do you use by any chance do use Autodesk software.
Yes, AutoCAD and Revit
Yo do right de best, architectural interpretation software.

Thanks!
Bro how about adding a wall clock to your background so that we can see the actual time it took you to complete the modle and the rendering
You're a genius! Sometimes I split it between days. I'll think of something though. Maybe a digital clock that shows the date.
What version you use sir?
2020
Love this vid. 👍🏽

You are a genius. I totally forgot about Twinmotion Add-ons!
Looks pretty good, I might give this challenge a new shot but using corona
good video
Can you tell me how you made tahat couture terrain in twinmo?
Using the sculpting tool
Make this a series and using sketchup vray.
Good enough for a client
not enough displacement on the rocks and dirt
it looks very flat
don't know if twinmotion can do material displacement
Yes, bump. But the bump on some textures don't work properly.
Twinmotion is super user friendly but the realism is really a miss, I went with vray, it's more complicated but the end result is far better and much more possibilities.
VRay is amazing. That was my go-to back at school!
Would someone be able to do this in Unreal ?
even better with UE5
Was hoping he would try and match it exactly, not just close enough.. 😃
You should also use quixel assets
I'll look into it. Thanks!
plans would look better photoshopped i guess
problem with twinmotion is the lighting looks a little off
Suggestion, Mooch check out images of the firm Peter Marino Architect Inc okay.
Thanks!
Check him out he's working he's like Mooch a modern-version of a FrankLoyldWright.
You should use lumion, way much better than twinmotion
I don't have access to it at the moment.
I could make such a a comparison only for exterior scenes
The real one looks like a render lol
did anyone catch how he got the lines in the concrete
Its hard to replicate full global illumination and physical materials with real-time renderer.
Dang
Please PS on this render! It would be interesting.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

It's the only real-time renderer, beside Enscape, that I have access to right now.
what photorealistic rendering engine could you recommend? i haven't found a favorite yet
