    I still like this approach mainly because it’s gives me a very high FPS for showing clients in realtime and VR…don’t underestimate it.

    Great video! Though, from my perspective as a novice is that TM requires a lot of extra work to get a realistic result vs something like D5 Render, VRay, Luminion, or any other the other dozen render engines. You even have to add shadows by hand and define reflection planes vs. TM using material definitions for roughness? Nice work, but looks like a lot of extra work vs other options out there...

    • @arnevankeer4351
      @arnevankeer4351  3 роки тому

      These are pretty standard. I usually only adjust it very slightly or not at all and adjust everything with area lighting or other types of light. For me, you can quickly get too much exposure and not enough shadow or contrast. In this scene Exposure is set at 0 and ambient also at 0. 👌

    • @arnevankeer4351
      @arnevankeer4351  3 роки тому +3

      Hey Matt! The translucent material is a custom texture with the oppacity set at let’s say 50% with photoshop. Then imported back inside Twinmotion with the oppacity set to ‘on’. There are 2 versions of the model one for the old lighting system like the tutorial with high intensity and one for the new 2021 version. So they work on both versions! 😃

      @@arnevankeer4351 Yeah that's what I've found. I've been exporting from Max/Vray as a Datasmith extension then importing into TM. A lot of textures DO come through, though in a reduced form as TM doesn't support more complex channels, (fall off and refraction). But not all textures for some reason. Have you found a process by which all the materials can be imported? There is a request for Vray mats to be accurately introduced into TM but as yet it's still in the development stage. Maybe I'm over thinking this.

      Hey! It's just a normal computer mouse. I use my 'wasd' keys together with the mouse to have a smooth movement. Or you can use the arrow keys to. So while walking forward using the 'w' you can look left and right with the mouse. And let's say you want to go left you just look to the left and press the 'w' key again and you go to the left. 👍 Hope this helps you out!

    I have not used Twinmotion much, but I do work with other architects that prefer it as their visualization tool. I always saw these badly illuminated interiors they used to show me, thinking that it was just a limitation of the software that we had to live with. Now I see that they were just slacking on their skills and letting the automatic lighting do the job, with the poor global illumination solution offered in Twinmotion. I'm going to share this video right away!

    Hello Arne, first of all, I want to thank you for sharing your knowledge and then asking you, do lights such as Arealight, Omnidirectional und Spots, work during the day or in natural light?
    In the TM19 version it worked but I think that in TM20.2 it does not work the same, I ask because I think that to perform an interior Render during the day, daylight is not enough

    Hi Arne, great job. I have a question tough. I would like to ask you how do you manage it to set tha background image with the skyline in a curved wall. I have imported the curved wall and applied a TM decal. After that changed the picture on the decal for the skyline I want, but surprise, the decal doesn't fit into a curved wall and it's shown completely flat, so it doesn't look as nice as yours. I use Revit for modeling and also have tried with the revit decal wich they fit perfectly into a curved wall, but it's not exported to TM. How do you manage it?. Thanks a lot in advance and keep pushing.

Simply opening in unicorn render and set a hdri, drag some materials already is a lot better than this endresults. TM ends where Unicorn render begins. We've also adjusted the Auto-exposure and Bloom settings, and made a smoother transition between day and night." 😁

      You can look at it two ways. I myself have been working with the new path tracer for the last few days. Very nice experience, just a longer process especially for video. Therefore, this technique is still fine, render times are a lot shorter, especially useful for professional use. I just think of all the work hours that can be saved.
