Lassiter also had the fastest 3 cone drill in the draft very quick on his toes. He’s plenty fast to play nickel if he has to even tho he was one of the best outside corners in CFB anyways can’t be slow and not let up a single TD and be top 2 in yards allowed also the only corner to allow single digit first downs in 2023. Statistically coulda been the first corner taken

Draft is a B+ for me. For starters no draft pick should be relied on to start, that just gets you in trouble and shows poor roster construction imo. We went in needing competition at outside and inside CB (Lassiter). We need competition at deep single and split safety and allow Ward /Pitre to play closer to los (Bullock). We needed DT rotation competition (miss) and LB competition (miss). Rest is just roster depth such as TE, HB, G etc. DT’s ran, we pivoted to getting a good developmental OT, that’s good value considering our roster. Hit our other two primary needs and got depth. The thing that makes this draft better is we got Diggs. Even just for 1 year he has to be included in the evaluation. Hell I’ve seen people argue that Will Anderson should be included as we used draft capital from 24’ to move up in 23 to get him. Either way this draft is a solid need draft and will set the team up for years to come. B+ at worst.

1st and second round picks 100% should be relied on to start, they are on rookie contracts you get the best value playing them early not paying a veteran so false

I really like those first four picks after that meh. Those are 3 potential starters and one good backup with the firsr four.

With the majority of these picks, my first reaction was....who?
On first glance, I would say that this was a quantity over quality draft for the Texans.
I am not sure if many will have much of an impact on the 2024 season, other than to lend depth.
I do not see one player in the bunch who can vie for a starting spot.

Lassiter and Bullocks for sure will be competing for starting and be in rotation if you take like a few seconds to search them up especially with our secondary so definitely an improvement.

At the end of the day. the Texans didn't need to do much given what they acquired in the offseason. But they were able to fill in the needs that they needed. So while it's not a sexy draft like last year, I don't think you could've topped last year and the draft didn't need to be sexy.
